  1. This public nuisance and health risk would never have been addressed without Jeff Morris bringing attention to it. Thank you Jeff Morris and other citizen advocates!

    1. Snagging that autistic kid didn't help the bums' secrecy.
      Good riddance.

  2. So, look out. The occupants are headed for your neighborhood. They will go somewhere.

  3. Why don't we set up a tent city, modeled after San Francisco's, in the City Hall parking lot? They, the homeless, will be close to transportation and all the shopping in downtown. After all we are trying to model other liberal cities. Newsome might come up some money to help. We would be a model in SoCal. The people that received grant money could extend their services from Saxony parking lot to City Hall parking lot.

  5. It sucks that you have to go all out like Jeff Morris to get this cleaned up. Is there a plan to house the people living there? If our Mayor is true to her flag she will make sure each of those tortured souls will have access to harm reduction resources and an open door to returning to a typical life. If not I hope they monitor them as they will just move to your neighborhood.

  6. So much for the alt-right "Homeless Sanctuary City" narrative. A week after reports through proper channels using the SeeClickFix app and it's getting taken care of.

    1. No excuses for this lame council. They were well aware of the problem, but it took going through your "proper" channel to act? How big of a problem would it have to be for the city to act if no SeeClickFix report was made? 100 homeless? 200? $500?

Your "proper" reasoning makes zero sense. The council knew there was a problem and made a conscious decision to ignore it. Now that something is in the system, they can't but how dumb is that?

And the homeless increasing and posing health threats to themselves and others has nothing to do with politics. Your left/right narrative is a red herring.

    2. Did not mean the dollar sign in front of the 500. Freudian slip.

    3. 10:01 alt right? I think you are confused, it's leftist not folks not the right. Let me make it easy for you. Everything the left does fails. There, fixed.

  7. Looks like we again see what Jeff means by taking care of our own. Continues with his campaign of harassment against our small band of homeless, lies to them about looking for missing kids, pretends that he works with the mayor, the city and CRC and is going to get them help. After learning that they have been living here without issue for almost a decade, he gets the city to bulldoze their tents. Maybe he can give them some of his old surf gear on their way out, that's real compassion!

    1. Would you like meth with your fries? Crazy your kid has to watch drug dealing while going to n n out! These sketchy guys are Blakespears gift to Encinitas, yes this needs to be cleaned up and it took someone over the top to accomplish it. What does our city do?

    2. Someone has to protect the homeless from the local charities who are sticking them in the bush and patting themselves on the back as they use these people for money. Dun with the scum. They aren’t “your” people, you guys do nothing and go talk to them and find out whats up. I’m fixing this town

  8. mayor's bff going all aggro like he does over on EV. no need to take the bait, it's just another day at the office jumping out in front of the bus headed for his lady friend. how much is the dude costing taxpayers?

  9. Demonizing the homeless doesn’t make them disappear.

Criminalizing the hopeless isn’t a solution.

Every town trying to drive them “somewhere else” is an expensive way to do nothing.

  18. ABC "personality" - so the announced camp dismemberment is Friday and you predict that a treasure trove of something other than squalor will be found? Isnt there a old lady or disabled child that you can pick on?

    1. The inhabitants of this camp had enough forewarning to stash their loot elsewhere. Funny how you mention a "disabled child". This camp is where a missing autistic kid was located. Probably Mr. Roberts was making a guest visit.

  20. All of the fakes promoting putting homeless on the streets so the fake charities people can pay their mortgages. The most vile and disgusting humans on the planet. You guys are the worst of humanity but some of us aren’t scared to clean up your mess and take away your revenue stream

  21. I totally agree with 1:04am.

    ABC...

Blakespear constantly supports bad decisions for Encinitas. Blakespear stands for increased homeless, increased homeless crime, increased density, increased traffic, increased pollution, increased crowds at beaches, increase carbon footprint.

Blakespear is worse than Jerome Stocks

Blakespear is bad for Encinitas. Blakespear is bad for humanity.

  22. Where are the photos of the camp being dismantled? Someone said they posted photos on Nextdoor, but they were promptly censored out. Why? It is a civic works project - should be no controversy there.

  23. The "bum" camp at Oggi's was a jeff embellishment to, in a lamo / transparent way serve his warped crusade against a charitable organization.

    1. Don't think so. Cal Trans doesn't clean up mythical non-existent camps. The transient problem is getting worse - take a walk in the transit center downtown for a sample.
