Sorry, contractor. The reports incorrectly states that Prop A is the bad guy. Fake reports that speak the talking lies or ignorance of the equity committee. Wake up
Unsupported connections to rent trends blamed on Prop A although they mirror here what is happening statewide. This is Kranz's big chance to market Prop A as the reason for every housing ill. But connecting imaginary dots because the BIA wants it gone ain't gonna fly. Cue Gonzalez bloviating to fan the flames with fake news.
The council is playing us all for suckers. The lie to the state in the housing element promising 100% affordable was just to set up shifting power to the developers. Builders remedy is their goal. Most are appointed not elected in Encinitas. Until the election vs appointment rules are changed along with the open elections where multiple candidates are running, incumbents will maintain the advantage and the majority can vote to appoint.
It’s extremely concerning we’re half way through March and there are no viable opponents running for mayor and the two council seats. If there are candidates they have to realize it’s a very short windo to campaign. October os a wash because of early voting.
Late last year I realized I wasn't feeling myself. It had been several months of sensing that something was off and I couldn't avoid it any longer. Multiple trips to multiple doctors and a battery of tests revealed my worst fears to be true. There was a large tumor in my brain. Based on the size and location of the cancer, the consensus was that it was inoperable. Nobody would give me a clear estimate on how long I had left but it was months or less. I was desperate and open to any options available. As luck would have it, that's when someone I saw someone on Facebook recommending a radical treatment. With nothing to lose I went for it. Following their instructions I printed out a copy of Prop A and read it over and over and over and over. Almost immediately I started to feel better. I was my old self again. I printed more copies, shredded them and put them in my tea. I taped pages all over my body and slept with several copies under my pillow. At this point I was starting to feel 20 years younger. Could this treatment actually be working or was it just a placebo? I went back for another MRI and miraculously the tumor was gone! My doctors were baffled and I was too embarrassed to tell them how my cancer was cured. There's no way they would believe me.
Even though this is anonymous I have to say THANK YOU to Bruce Ehlers! You and Prop A saved my life! Now anytime I have an achy joint or a sore back I just rub some Prop A on it and everything is better.

What a stupid excuse..... as Leucadia is hammered by Kranz's high density crap blocking existing resident's sunligiht and views and giving oceanviews to the ghetto apartment landlords, flooding destroying lives and property values in Leucadia, and the roads crumbling, Kranz pumps yet another $8 million away from Leuacadia projects towards his pet project - the Encinitas Second Senior Center.

I didn’t move to any of those locations you mentioned because either they’re not by the ocean, or they’re not warm enough for me… Encinitas offered a terrific location of a southern California warm beach community with good surf that wasn’t extremely crowded on all of its open space areas, including the beach.
Hence, if you overdevelop it, there’s nothing that will differentiate Encinitas from Redondo Beach or Huntington Beach or Pacific Beach.
They used to be nice prior to getting overdeveloped.

ReplyDeleteIt’s extremely concerning we’re half way through March and there are no viable opponents running for mayor and the two council seats. If there are candidates they have to realize it’s a very short windo to campaign. October os a wash because of early voting.
Late last year I realized I wasn't feeling myself. It had been several months of sensing that something was off and I couldn't avoid it any longer. Multiple trips to multiple doctors and a battery of tests revealed my worst fears to be true. There was a large tumor in my brain. Based on the size and location of the cancer, the consensus was that it was inoperable. Nobody would give me a clear estimate on how long I had left but it was months or less. I was desperate and open to any options available. As luck would have it, that's when someone I saw someone on Facebook recommending a radical treatment. With nothing to lose I went for it. Following their instructions I printed out a copy of Prop A and read it over and over and over and over. Almost immediately I started to feel better. I was my old self again. I printed more copies, shredded them and put them in my tea. I taped pages all over my body and slept with several copies under my pillow. At this point I was starting to feel 20 years younger. Could this treatment actually be working or was it just a placebo? I went back for another MRI and miraculously the tumor was gone! My doctors were baffled and I was too embarrassed to tell them how my cancer was cured. There's no way they would believe me.

Then the City Coucnil blames a few whiny citiizens who didn't like options for Beacons Beach, so they say that the reason to halt progress on maintaining access to Beacon's Beach. What? What a stupid excuse..... as Leucadia is hammered by Kranz's high density crap blocking existing resident's sunligiht and views and giving oceanviews to the ghetto apartment landlords, flooding destroying lives and property values in Leucadia, and the roads crumbling, Kranz pumps yet another $8 million away from Leuacadia projects towards his pet project - the Encinitas Second Senior Center.

Some people prefer electric cars. Is government putting a thumb on the scale with subsidies? Sure. But are they also subsidizing and giving tax incentives to build infrastructure to extract petroleum? You bet your ass they are. The true cost of oil and gas without government intervention, including wars, would be multiples higher. Even if you are an anti-science dummy, there is a societal value in diversifying energy sources to lessen the impact of the inevitable supply shocks and geopolitical turmoil (cough cough Russia). The less reliant we are on any one energy source, the better. During COVID when airlines shut down, there was some supply chain issues and delays, but we were still able to get by, because ships, trucks, and trains were still moving. That’s the power of diversity, and it applies equally if not more so to energy. Cyber attacks will target the grid at some point in the future. The homes and businesses with ample solar, a powerwall, and an electric car will be fine. The rest will deal with all the food in the freezer going bad, and gas pumps going dark.
So stop being an arrogant ass trying to dictate and impose your lifestyle choices on others.
A lot of young people would rather not own a car if public transportation, Uber, and car sharing services are available. Some choose to live in multi-family housing either out of necessity or to divert money to other priorities like travel or starting a business.

I didn’t move to any of those locations you mentioned because either they’re not by the ocean, or they’re not warm enough for me… Encinitas offered a terrific location of a southern California warm beach community with good surf that wasn’t extremely crowded on all of its open space areas, including the beach.
Hence, if you overdevelop it, there’s nothing that will differentiate Encinitas from Redondo Beach or Huntington Beach or Pacific Beach.
They used to be nice prior to getting overdeveloped.

Personally, if I wanted to live in high-rises, I would live in downtown San Diego, Oceanside, or LA. but I don't, and I don't see that demand from the public. Are they saying the public is wrong and market forces no longer work, and that government must tell us where to live and how to live?
