  1. Scary parallel: I view the Trump administration with dread. I can do little to nothing to relieve that dread. I feel the same about the Blakespear administration.

    1. 6:40. Trump is putting Americans first. blakespear is putting her globalist cronies first.

President Trump is a high energy, masculine leader. The fake celebrity infotainment networks of CNN, ABC. CBS, FOX have lied to Americans and misled the citizens for 30 years. president Trump and his administration are shining the spotlight of truth on the failed policies of globalist for all to see.

      Drain the Swamp.

  2. Tony says he's not on the council for the money. He's there for the power to impose his personal agenda.

  3. By the time the city and SANDAG pay for piecemeal changes at Chesterfield, Montgomery, Santa Fe, El Portal, Leucadia Blvd (later) and quiet zones, they will have gone a very long way toward having spent enough to trench the tracks through the whole city. Sadly, nobody had the foresight to see that or the balls to pursue it.

  4. A barrage of govspeak. Does anybody understand what's been said about the rail corridor?

  5. If this guy says "in terms of" one more time, I'm gonna scream.

  6. No, there shouldn't be a focus on bikes! It's a tiny minority now and will always be a tiny minority.

  7. Did Mosca declare a concession to DCM yet?

  8. Can anybody imagine what would happen if businesses with budgets about the size of our city's conducted themselves as our council and staff do?

    They would all go bankrupt!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Trench the tracks and put lots of crossings over the trench. That would solve all the rail corridor problems.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Mosca doesn't know WTF he's talking about. He hasn't lived here long enough to know the issues, let alone the geography or even the names of the streets.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The millions to be put into an undercrossing at El Portal would be better put toward trenching the tracks between La Costa Ave and Encinitas Blvd.

  12. They're all presuming that Streetscape as proposed is going to happen. L101 MS represents about 15 percent of the merchants and property owners in the corridor and gets $30K of taxpayer money from the city, yet Rhoades speaks as if her org represents the whole community and she lists her org's demands.

    Outrageous!

  13. I'm impressed with this council with the exception of blubber Muir. The guy is so unintelligent. Catherine is doing a stellar job as Mayor. The last mayor didn't know much and made herself the focus of every meeting.

    2. Blakespear's motion to the group was to ignore community character of the five communities.

      Delete
    3. 11:06 That is a blatant fabrication.

    4. 10:35, nice try Catherine.

    5. Blakespear wants to ignore community character. It's not important to her and the other four on the Council.

  14. Carris seems to have neglected the city's own EIR, as if it doesn't exist. Denial much Carris?

As for Darius, it must be nice to live on the coast hiway and never have to pedal your bike up the hills. He comes off as rather elitist, believing the majority of residents can't wait to have streetscape solve all of the problems and reduce a major arterial to a crawl with single lanes north and south, all the while contributing to more automobile exhaust fumes for him than he, apparently is able to imagine.

Our 101 is not Europe. They have the sense to put these in much wider configurations. Streetscape does not. Cramming a 4 lane highway into 2 lanes, along with cyclists riding through a single lane roundabouts is a recipe for much that these pushers have chosen to ignore.

Why? Most of these pushers are in the real estate and developer business and represent only themselves and their future profits.

Darius, may you choke on it, if this is allowed to become a reality. Ride your bike and be sure to inhale deeply This goes for Carris and Elena and any of the other fools who somehow believe this will make our 101 into something other than what we love about the specialness that brought us all here to begin with.

Speeds have been reduced to 35mph. The issue of enforcing this 35mph should be an effective revenue stream, if the will was there.

  15. Trench and cover the tracks and save millions of our wasted dollars on under crossings, quiet zones, at grade crossings, all the while giving this community easy access to the coast.

All of these projects should be secondary to lowering the tracks. The rest will be easy, once that happens.

    1. Tony talked a good game about lowering the tracks last night, but what is he doing about it now and what has he done about it in the past four years?

    1. When have you heard the council listen to any speaker who didn't support the council's pre-existing point of view? Over and over again, the council ignores anybody who doesn't agree with them. The meetings are a charade. Everything has been decided before the meetings start. The council is there to pursue and enact its agenda. That's set in stone. The fix is in.

  18. Threats about what Sacramento will do to cities like Encinitas if they don't knuckle under to state housing mandates is pretty much standard fodder for local pro-development pols. They all love that one, and we saw it last night. Expect that club to be used constantly over the next year.

  24. Oye vey..today was Jews-only holohoax remembrance day..just the facts ma'am:
Holocaust deniers don't deny it outright but only deny it as defined by the Jews that profit from it. Revisionists question the use of genocidal gas chambers in lieu of delousing chambers (especially the mobile ones that the Simon Weisenthal Center was forced to remove as fraudulent photos;), that Jews skin was made into lampshades and their body fat made into soap, the 6,000,000 figure is a documented fraud as is the crematorium at Aushewitz that was built by the Russians...AFTER the end of the war. Please don't promote these lies and have some integrity to learn the facts...not the feelings.

  27. 1:32am Thomas Roger Ogden go away from here with your hate. You live in a world of denial and alternative facts. The rot inside has infected what may be left of your mind. You are one sick puppy and a disgraceful subhuman. Go away. There is nothing for you here in Encinitas or on this blog. You are irrelevant to any thinking, caring person.
