Meet Alex Fidel

From the Inbox:
I'm having a small gathering at the Encinitas Blvd Swami's Cafe location on Sept. 12th at 5:45PM. Probably 40 persons max in the back room that is granted to us, though we could fit chairs in the middle.

It's open to anyone who'd like to find out more and engage in positive discussion about issues, of course until the room is filled up.

There will be a group discussion/open forum period.

Take care, Alex

  2. Sorry I can't make it but hope all goes well that night.

  3. No but the BONG Squad will be hitting it!

  4. A vote for Alex or Sheile is a vote for KRISTIN. Enough said

    1. Some people make that claim, but in reality who will vote for Tony?? His base has LEFT. Gone. Prop A and Desert Rose have sent his base running for the hills.

Tony has been asked outright by his ex-base who will vote for him. The response should surprise no one: blank stare followed by...a blank stare. He's in for a rude awakening.

    2. Are you saying that Tony, Alex and Sheila share similar views. With that said, I'll be voting for Gaspar

      Delete
    3. Gaspar - do nothing, done nothing, will do nothing. Nothing on her tally sheet 4 years in.

I'm voting for Tony, so are a lot of other people. He's quietly getting some things done. And I voted for him last time....

    4. Not at all.

Tony is in a two-faced league of his own. You can listen to Alex and know what he stands for and believe him; the same goes for Sheila.

You can listen to Tony and know that he has already proven himself to be a liar and turncoat. You can then decide if you want more of the same.

    5. Tony can not be trusted any longer, period!

    6. 6:37 - "Quietly" getting some things done? Why quietly? Why not out in the open, where his former backers can hear him back up his campaign promises? What's this "quietly" BS?

If I sound angry, I am. I voted, campaigned, and put signs in my yard for him last time. Never again.

    7. Tax'em Tony is gonna be one and done- I can not wait to vote against his phony spineless lying lack of integrity in 2016-

    8. I liked Tony but after that Pacific View fiasco. I will be voting for Alex or Gaspar (pew).

Dalakranz is clueless. Borrowing $13 million for a a 4 million dollar property and a life guard tower. That guy is clueless.

    9. Not just clueless, but financially dangerous.

    10. Kranz is a zero. Watch the low votes coming his way.

    11. It's Tony or Kristin, if you can vote for Kristin after all the times she's abstained, voted with Stocks, done magic tricks, then go for it. Nothing will get done when she's mayor, Stocks and David Meyer will be setting the agenda for the next two years.

If you're not voting for Tony, let's hear about Gaspar's accomplishments....oops, there are none...

    12. By quietly, I mean he works with people to get things done, he's not a big presence, trumpeting what he's up to every minute. Tony is a problem solver. If you go to him with a city issue, he works on it and gets a resolution.

Like any pol, I have different positions on some things, and would approach some things differently. As far as spending, none of the current council would make most of the people on this board happy. The total clampdown on spending isn't going to happen. We do need to maintain our infrastructure, and it won't be cheap.

Better to have someone who's engaged like Tony, then someone who's not like Gaspar, who only practices fiscal restraint near an election. She has nothing to offer as far as leadership....

  5. Alex, if for some reason the government picks up on this blog and closes down your event. I know of an available phone booth you can fit all your guest into, and still have room to roll a joint.

    1. 6:37 - I am not voting for Alex, but why don't you challenge him on his ideals and quit with the pot cracks?

      Delete
    2. I have engaged him many times on this blog, trying to get his take on relevant city issues, not legalizing pot, fluoridation, police brutality, freedoms etc.

He has some good ideas, but I think he should continue in radio and print, he's not prepared or informed enough to deal with issues like the pension, pac view, the roads etc.

And he has zero chance of winning. 'Nuff said.

  6. If you really want to change things for the good of the city - you should vote for Alex.

    1. Alex needs to talk about Encinitas issues using specifics to get my vote. I've asked him and he moves the talk up to the national level...definitely not where his votes would come from. He needs to get real local, real fast.

    2. Gaspar can suggest some Hollywood Super Hero costume! Then you don't have to address issues !

    3. Then you'll be #5.

  7. Busted.

I found police video of Alex getting busted. No wonder he has a problem with the police.

    3. Leave that kind of slander out. I'm not voting for Fidel, but he's a welcome contributor to the blog and city.

  8. Alex, will you ask the council for a " time out" so you can place your pray rug down and pray to Mecca on those nights when the meeting go long ?? And yes it's a fair question.

    1. Off with your head!!!!

    2. That's a fair question indeed. Yes, I would do so, but in a private area, as my spirituality is my own. I believe in the separation of church & state.

"America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem. Throughout my travels in the Muslim world, I have met, talked to, eaten with, and prayed to the same one God as people who in America would have been considered 'white,' but the 'white' attitude had been removed from their minds by the religion of Islam. They considered themselves human beings first, members of the human family." - Malcolm X

No one is born a racist. Racism is learned, and some people have PhDs in racism. It is an interesting dynamic, to be in a world full of immature racists who make Muslim & marijuana jokes instead of legitimate arguments about the issues like respectful adults should (in general; 9:20PM was a fair question), yet I'm the one who is 22-year-old. I guess I have attained what many people cannot even fathom in multiple lifetimes. Age is so, so relative, because there are so many adult babies out there. MLK said it best, it is content of character that should be the basis of all judgement.

I'm looking forward to having positive, constructive conversations with people with open hearts & minds who care about the future of their children and grandchildren and want to take action for positive solutions. :) It is our duty to leave this planet better than we found it.

My campaign is centered around the notion that change isn't reliant upon any one person. It is about We The People rising up peacefully and getting active. When the government fears the people, there is liberty. I hope to inspire others to take action for their futures and stir up a bit of a revolution. No one person can do everything, but every one can do something.

    3. So yes, you would disrupt a scheduled council meeting and keep everyone waiting while you conduct your prays?? Unreal. Should this occur I would expect the other council members to continue without you regardless of how important the subject and your thoughts or opinions.

    1. The practical, realistic, smart thing to do is choose the two candidates who have a good chance of winning and are least likely to be corrupted and do bad shit.

Those two candidates are Cameron and Graboi.

A vote for Alex or a write-in is just symbolism, and will probably help the wrong people win.

If that happens, you'll have a lot more to gripe about on this blog.

    2. So far, Cameron's strategy has been to show up on old friend's door steps and 'surprise' them and ask for their endorsement face-to-face, sorta like shaming or scaring them into endorsing her. Apparently this hasn't been very successful, unless you count the 'thing' in the back of Fred's shop: but that cost Sheila a quarter, her last. Read her 410 form. C'mon Pam Slater Price and Juicy Brucie, at least buy Sheila a 'relaxer' for her hair. Sheila's script for the open forums is gonna have more diversions in it than the Warren Commission. Alex Fidel? If he doesn't look like one of the ISIS fighters I'm a monkey's uncle: and I don't mean Peter Tork! Cameron and Julie having the best chance to be elected? Please, 11:20 pm, Fantasyland is roughly 55 miles north in Anaheim. Perhaps Pam in a 'fright' wig will accompany Cameron to the Open Bar Forum in Cardiff week after next?

    1. This tree outrage reminds me of Lisa Shaffer's Siameze Twin, Dadla Ponzil, when he was on the Environmental Advisory Committee and he insisted that every time a car dealer sold a car that the dealer be forced to plant 4 trees on the dealer's property... No joke and kinda like Tony and Lisa's plan to force new homeowners to plant fruit trees on their property. Check the minutes from the Urban Jungle Committee. Knuckle headed.

  13. I can't, in good conscience, vote for Tony, even though I gave him the max $ and walked door to door for him last time. It's one thing to learn new things and change your mind. It's another to abandon your base. And that is what Tony has done. He got elected on Lisa's coat tails, and he has done nothing since, except spend, spend and spend. He was a vocal proponent of Prop. A, and now, if he could, he would do anything to get around it. His obsession with bee's is ridiculous. Of course we want to protect bees. However, it is hardly an Encinitas political issue. Just as Alex has strong opinions on 9-11, and he is entitled to them, that does not make him qualified to be the Mayor. Tony may think it is his calling to protect bees, but that does not qualify him for Mayor either. What exactly has Tony done to deserve our vote? As much as I still think Cameron is a little over the top, I will vote for her, as she has given back to the community.

    1. Tony is a not too bright guy that suddenly is impressed with himself having a title and some power. The real power brokers court him, as they recognize his pliability. Tony's base put trust in him out of desperation, not realizing that he is really a Gumby ready to be molded by the most persuasive offer.

      Delete
    2. Tony sold out and voted the wrong way on almost every important issue. When the town was in an uproar and had shown the city was not following its own ordinances, Tony still maintained that density bonus was a state law, so we couldn't do anything about it. Between the first and second density bonus council meetings, somebody hit Tony over the head with an anvil, and he finally got on board.

    3. Yeah, the neighbors' attorneys opened his eyes for him. Took them to get him to do the right thing. Anyone who thinks Tony is a good guy and worthy of a vote in November likes the abuse, I guess.

  16. To call Alex a Dark Horse candidate would be grossly exaggerating his chances; he'll pull maybe 100 votes, if lucky. Given that, it is all about a public forum and exposure. He can promote anything under the sun - what does he have to lose? Illuminati conspiracies, alien abduction, New World Order - you have to hand it to him - he has moxie.

  17. A vote for Sheila is a vote for KRISTIN GASPAR , is that really what you want.

  18. If you supported Prop A, you need to vote for the ONLY Prop A candidates - Sheila and Julie! Tony doesn't support Prop A - ITS THAT SIMPLE!

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is not a one issue city ,you to get over Prop A .Let's move forward

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not voting for Tony is not just about Prop. A. It is about campaigning for something from the very beginning,as Tony did on A, and then abandoning it when it no longer suits your political purposes. Prop. A is symbolic. It shows that Tony will continue to abandon anything he says he believes in, if he gets to hang with the "big wigs". The rest of us, who got him elected to begin with, don't matter any more. What is also sad, is as soon as he is off the Council, his "big wig" buddies will also desert him. He reminds me of the Springstein song "Glory Days". He will hang with his high school buddies. Kind of pathetic and sad at the same time.
