Tony Kranz gets the job done for Encinitas

  1. Not a bad piece, but it's a little late. He should have sent that out when the absentees were sent, and followed it up this week with a hard hitting piece.

  2. I agree about the timing. I just got mine this week. I would have had it out about two weeks ago if there was only going to be one mailer.

As you know, I think Tony's our best choice in a weak field, but Gaspar looks poised to take over the mayor's seat. Then I'll guess we'll see if she can lead.

    2. Actually Francine Busby rammed him through. True story, I was there. She will deny it, and i have that email to prove it. However, since I was there, I call her out. Come on Francine, give it your best shot. Hopefully you will be out by Jan.

    3. Just a word Francine is very secure and most think she is doing an excellent job .I was also there and you're opinion has little very to do with What really happened.

    4. 10:01- Talk to Micky Kasperian, the head of the local union and a member of the Democratic Central Commttee if you think I am wrong. If you were at the Central Committee meeting, let me know what else you remember. How many votes did Kranz and Blakespear get from the Committee? You should know if you were there. I can answer that question, but I'll give you first shot, since you fired the secure Francine comment.

    5. Should have said "Since you find that Francine is secure".

    2. 10:17 is right. You don't want to see Tony get angry. Just ask a few locals about it. And, not just the usual KLCC clan.

    3. Not to mention that he will kick the *hit out of people with opposing political views!

  7. This piece is too late to make any difference...Gaspar is the first elected mayor of Encinitas.
Politics in this city is a complete joke. The worst candidates, council the worst city manager and staff. A joke a complete joke.....

  9. WTF. I am not voting for Gaspar, but Tony's mailer is bullshit. He is the one who changed his mind on Prop. A after getting people to vote for him. And, believe it or not, I actually go to the polls on Nov. 4th and don't mail in my ballot. Tony will not get my vote.

    1. Agreed. I once supported Tony but his mailer is really in bad taste and negative. What cracks me up is that Lisa Shaffer, that was preaching for a positive campaign in her Newsletter, has no qualm to put her name on this trashy mailer. Vote Cameron!

  10. Both are worthless.

  11. Geez, Tony, what bullshit! Selective, twisted propaganda!

  12. My flyer came directly from the Tony Kranz Campaign, not the Democratic Party. Wow, Kranz goes negative!

Cameron is the only candidate not going negative, she has my vote!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't recall Gaspar or Cameron going negative, only Kranz.

  14. Kranz is desperate!

  15. In a few years Tony will be doing all he can to distance himself from the Pacific View purchase. Far from "saving" something this will become at best an undeveloped eyesore with a $800k yearly interest payment, or at worst, a significant nail in Encinitas' financial coffin that led to the city going the way of Stockton, Vallejo, San Bernardino and Detroit.

  16. Krisin Gaspar has done very little for this city but TALK and TALK is cheap.Man she can talk and say absolutely nothing .Sound bites There called in the news business the business she's trained in .If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen.

    1. Just watch, the ones voting for Gaspar to get her in as Queen will be bashing her before her two years is up. Gaspar will need therapy (mental) before they get done with her. Mark my words.

The "mommy police" better be ready for action.

      Delete
    2. What makes you think Gaspar voters are the bashing type?

      Delete
    3. ... and what would she possibly do to anger soccer moms, firefighters, and realtors?

    4. You'll just have to wait and see.

    5. Yea, Gaspar is the odds on favorite to win and - yes - she will be torn to shreds on the blogs during her reign. But she is a shill - mannequins don't react to criticism. She will be isolated from that by her handlers - the Barbie string pullers! Barbie just needs to cut ribbons and smile . .

    3. Right! I can't wait to see her eyes after the blow out election. They will be swirling like bobble head when should blabbers on for her 3 minutes of garbage at the next council meeting. Haaaa!

November 5th can't come soon enough!

    4. 10:37 errr crack smoker- she has a snowballs chance in hell. The new Bob Nanninga of enc politics. Perpetually running for office you smile to their face and laugh that them behind their backs. A complete embarrassment.

  19. That was a fair, true and balanced flyer. Hope the flipside brings in how much better our relationship with NCTD is now that Tony replaced Jerome. Wasn't nasty to Kristin in the slightest and a lot of people still sympathize with Kristin's decisions. So nanananana.

  20. Even though I voted for Kranz last time, I see from his terrible votes I am more in line with Gaspar and should vote for her. Kranz didn't get anything done but get us in DEBT on terrible projects.

    1. What did Gaspar get done? Can't think of one thing.

    2. What Gaspar did is what she didn't do, and that is get us in way over our heads as far as debt. To me, that is huge!

    3. 12:07 The NO vote by Gaspar and Muir meant absolutely nothing on PV. Gaspar wanted the NO vote so she could add that to her campaign strategy.

The telling thing will be if she becomes the elected mayor, how many developer projects she will approve to ruin our city?

PV is a done deal. But, the upcoming developer projects are not.

Very interesting and watch her in action. She loves those developers.

  21. I agree with that. Choosing to do nothing is better than a bad choice.

Just think what $20 million could do for the Streetscape? Instead, that money was wasted on a unnecessary life guard tower and an old school which will cost us over $30 million if we ever realize a real art center at the location. So instead of a complete streetscape which would pay for itself in under 10 years, Tony and crew elected to squander the city's resources on fluffy trophy projects. No better than dalager and his Regional Sport Park trophy project. Ugggg!

    1. Streetscape is county TransNet tax money. City's share of the $20 million is little more than staff time.

Streetscape will not pay for itself in 10 years. That's totally false. It adds only 12 parking spaces over 2.4 miles. It can't and won't increase sales tax or property tax revenues because it doesn't add anywhere near enough parking spaces.

Plus, by cramming five roundabouts within 8/10 mile at the north end, it will jam traffic when it's heavy and leave the present speedway open between Jupiter and L Blvd (6/10 mile), between L Blvd and El Portal (6/10) mile, and between El Portal and E Blvd (1/2 mile) when traffic is light.
