Carjacking at Oggi's

Union-Trib:
The victim was outside Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Company on Encinitas Boulevard, near Saxony Road, when he was approached by a man with a silver revolver about 6:10 p.m., Lt. Jim Walker said.

The man demanded the victim’s car and took off in his black Hyundai Sonata. It has a California license of 7NQY467, Walker said. The victim was not injured.

  1. Risk going to prison for a long time for a Hyundai Sonata?

    They'll catch this genius.

  2. Hmmm, Tony usually walks home from OGGI'S bar or hitches a ride with Lisa when she enlists Uber's help.

    1. We didn't even get to entry 5 without a cheapshot drinking reference to Tony. Well done....

Thanks for the reminder to put Tony first in discussions about the local bars.

    4. Why, because he posted a couple of times about going out? I would think the Libertarian streak of this blog would support the freedom of capitalism to get as drunk as it wants, but maybe not.

You've got two chances to clean up downtown, the ABC and the Cops. This council, the next council and the one after that aren't going to do it for you...

    5. if Tony is frequenting the bars, he is part of the problem. Adios, Tony and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

    6. So freedom to do what you want is only for you, not for everyone else? I think I'll hit downtown just to exercise my rights....

  4. Ah yes, we must have vibrancy at all costs and that cost is proving too great and I don't mean that as a positive. Our downtown has suffered greatly to vibrancy.

No more bar permits should be considered by Planning. We have far exceeded the saturation point for the size of our downtown.

  5. Perhaps he needs an intervention. Probably won't be hard to find.

  6. When Tony posts stuff about his being at this bar or that, on his FB page, I think it is fair game to call him out. If for no other reason that it is a stupid thing to post. He once posted he gave up Cox because he could do to bars to watch sports. I kind of wondered if that's all he watched on television.

    1. Tony has proven that he isn't the proverbial sharpest knife in the drawer. Someone aptly coined him Dalakranz - appropriate.

    2. When's the last time he posted something on his FB page about a bar, 2-3 years ago?

    3. They were lined around the block last night to get into the bars - business is booming!

    5. Some of the socially challenged here should get out more. Nobody likes a Mr. Bungle.

  7. "Carjacking at Oggi's" So the first comment actually does respond to the theme of this post and the rest of you just mindlessly attack Kranz, the council, downtown, etc. but nothing on the carjacking. Why even bother to give any post a theme.

It's just another demostration of Encinitas' critical insights. I thought this city was fairly well educated. Guess not.

  8. The story of TK outside of captain Kenos was enough to end any credibility. Perhaps council members who have no discrimination should not be voted in on someone else's coat tails.

  9. Boo hoo! Tony was outside Captain Keno's. Vote for someone else next time....

  10. There is something called social drinking and something called drinking to excess. People who govern should not go beyond the social level. I've heard enough to see a problem.
