Boerner-Horvath running for Assembly, Shaffer and Kranz not happy about it

Mee-ow!
Former Encinitas Deputy Mayor Lisa Shaffer, who supported Boerner Horvath's campaign for council, said in an email she was "disappointed" in Boerner Horvath.

"As someone who encouraged Tasha to run for City Council, and who actively contributed to her campaign, I feel betrayed, and I believe other Encinitas voters will feel the same way," Shaffer said. "We elected Tasha so that she would work for us on issues she championed, such as safe routes to school and active transportation. I did not expect her to use her Council seat as a stepping stone to higher office before even completing her first year."
Why can't you just graciously say that you wish her the best but you've already committed to supporting one of the other candidates?

  1. Liar Lisa is feeling betrayed? Unbelievable. Well, not really. The betrayer is feeling betrayed. Ain't that a shame.

She still wants our council to ignore the voting publics choice that rejected Measure T and toss out Prop A's protections.

Who the frack cares what Liar Lisa says about anything?

Lisa. please go quietly into the night and go away and leave our community's welfare out of your consideration, at least in the publics eyes. Keep your opinions to yourself. You are irrelevant and a part of our history that will be not be forgotten or forgiven for your betrayal and your treatment of citizens during council meetings and so many other instances.

  2. Brittany Woolsey should not have quoted or asked Lisa. She is irrelevant. Same as Stocks, Bond, and other former council people.

  3. Tony seems to be increasingly out of step with Catherine, Tasha, and Joe on a host of issues. The other three in the supermajority may be driving him toward Mark. I get the sense that they don’t really listen and talk to try to keep the team united on issues. As soon as they know they have three votes to do something, they call the vote and give the finger to Tony.

I wonder if Tony is starting to take it personally.

It would seem like Tasha’s run is a no risk deal for the supermajority. If she turns out to be a strong candidate and unseats Chavez, that’s goodness for them, and they can appoint her replacement. If she loses, then she stays in council for another two years before her next council election.

  4. Lololollll. Mouth breather Shaffer wanted Hovarth to secure safe routes to school.... ahh, you were on the council for 4 years why didn't you get that done yourself?? What a maroon!!

  5. I hope Tasha wins and wish her the best. She has a lot to offer and will be an excellent advocate for Encinitas. She is forward thinking and not afraid to tackle issues.

All of the council would do well to endorse her.

    1. No experience - she'll need substantial backing. But the equally incompetent Gaspar moved up the ladder. It's the Trump era- knuckle scrapers are getting in office.

    2. That's funny!

      Tasha -- a knuckle-scraping Democrat.

    3. Tasha is well-educated and smart. She'll be a fine Assembly Member.

It makes sense for her to help govern elsewhere, now that district elections are coming.

    4. Tasha is not genuine and sold out even before taking office. Dem or repub matters no more, whatever label gets them elected. I’m a dem and will not vote for her and did not vote for her. she supported T so is not smart, owned by developers, or both. Her campaign did take money from developers.

Pretty sure 9:28 is Tasha, reads like a testimonial from a campaign flyer for a high school election.

    5. Ha, now that you mention it, 9:28 does sound like Tasha. I've never met anyone so able to say so little of real meaning in so many words.

    6. I am the poster of the 9:28 comment, and NO, I am not Tasha. You people really should get a life.

    7. And you really should learn how to express yourself without sounding like a robocall. Too easily confused with the candidate.

    8. 3:17 If I wanted your opinion, I would have asked for it. You are too easily confused for an IDIOT!

    9. No one is waiting on you for an invitation, 3:36. You must be new here.

    10. 2:09

That’s what Tasha would say if she was trying to not sound like Tasha.

  6. She has been in an elected office for less than a year. There are 4 other people on the City Council who have more experience, and about 3 of them have more and better contacts in the Democratic Party.

  7. The faster she's out of this town the better, perhaps she'll take Barth, Shaffer and Cameron with her.
    Hey I can dream can't I??

    1. STFU, Mikey. Cameron has nothing to do with the "smart growth" sham Barth/Shaffer/Horvath push.

Mikey, your thing for Cameron will out you every time. You're sadly that predictable.

    2. I’m not 12:00, but I agree that Cameron is a whack job. I wasn’t here when she was on Council, but I’ve wondered whether she was as loony back then, or if she has gone downhill mentally in the years since.

    3. I never referred to Cameron as a whack job but she is an obstructionist and the sooner she leaves city policy to those that think more clearly the better off we'll all be.

  8. The Democrats will do well to have someone stable and sensible run. The woman Tasha is running against is loony.

  9. I was at an event last night where Tony slammed Tasha. I didn't know he disliked her that much.

    1. Tony should be working hard to get her elected to the 76th. Otherwise, the two of them will be in the same district and he will have to run against her in 2020.

  11. Tasha, like Catherine and Lisa, and Barth, has a definite agenda.

She only pretends to listen and doesn't even pretend very well. She's one of those people who you can see is preparing her response before the other person has finished their sentence.

She's the worst kind of person to have "advocate" for you unless, of course, your agenda is the same as hers. Otherwise, good luck. Your wishes will fall on deaf ears.
