Blakespear celebrates dangerous new bike obstacles

This seems a little tone-deaf, two days after a serious bike accident caused directly by the mayor's new bike obstacles :

  1. After all the law suites and pay outs of millions of dollars, you should listen to the comments of people who ride bikes.

You caused this bike Fck up. You are the reason people are getting hurt.

the people get hurt and the tax payers pay for your bad decision.

Blakespear = worse than Jerome Stocks.

    1. What’s a law suite?

Sounds like an office where several lawyers work.

  2. Mayor- Bring your kids out there and have a go.

    I bet it's really safe.

Next time, after several people dying because of City Council's actions,

  3. you might want to actually ask people who ride bikes.

    Just a suggestion. Thanks.

  4. There is a reason why the bike community chose not to put your husband on their board.

It's because you do not listen to people who actually know what the subject is about instead you go with your neighbors suggestion.

You suck. You need to leave.

  5. I am a involved in traffic safety for a living. Seeing these "spaced parking stops" running along the road is absolute insanity.
If a traffic engineer thought this was a good idea the they need to attend my classes and get their minds right. Then spend years getting practical experience and try and use some sense. What a cluster...

    1. Maybe. The Encinitas citizens are pretty frickin stupid. The are all still sitting inside and not going to the beach because the Mayor things it will be safe on Monday morning but not Saturday morning two days earlier.

I doubt it. I predict she will will go down. I don't care who runs against her. She defeated herself. The voters could not be that stupid to re-elect this clown.

Maybe Jerome Stocks or even fat boy slim (Muir) will be the next Mayor?

November can not come fast enough.

    2. 85%!

And running against Encinitas’ concrete queen!

Let’s just vote now and get it over with.

    3. Wait, I'm confused. 85% against the dog. That's kind of a low figure, should have been 99.99%.

Concrete Queen title goes to Catherine "BIA" Blakespear. Go, Goodson! Go, Foxpoint! Go, Bonita! Go, 13 more mass-high-rises thanks to the Concrete Mayor Queen!

She and 10:52 fear any more time passing before November. Folks waking up daily as to who wears the true concrete title: the BIA favorite, our current Mayor. So as Blakespear would say: "Let's just go ahead and vote." Right?

  9. Dear Mayor Blakespear,

    Have you thought this through?
You are an elected leader and with that comes many risks including the risks of people disagreeing with your decisions of which many appear truly poor and not well thought out and planned. Many of your decisions frankly go against the people in your town whom pay large property tax bills. There will always be dissenters to any decisions elected leaders make. It's quite evident that you do not care about the people even though you may think you do. Self awareness is in short supply these days.

Why did your local fire department support the freedom rally?

Why did your local sheriff support the freedom rally?

A great big thank you to the local fire department and police for respecting the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

Firemen and Police Officers - we love and respect you more than you know.

Ms Mayor - Did you know that likely over 60-70% of the attendees were not from Encinitas? That should ring a bell for you in relation to one issue in particular. Read: Homeless shelter speakers at CC meetings.

  10. The statement Ms Mayor made about only having the manpower to open up Moonlight Beach is a disaster waiting to happen. Think this one through Mayor. I am for opening the beaches immediately to be sure but I would submit to you Ms Blakespear don't do it until you can open all.

Moonlight only opening will be a sh*tshow for the ages and I for one will be taking video and notes.

    Cheers...

  12. Ms Mayor,

I voted for you and gave you money. I am a bicyclist and surfer and I thought you had my back. But no.

You f'd me on listening to logic on bike lanes, and you f'd us all for the closures of the coast for no reason.

I never thought I would say it, but you have taken the crown from Jerome Stocks as - THE WORST COUNCILMEMBER OF THE CITY OF ENCINITAS HISTORY.

    Blakespear stands for:

    Over development.
    More homeless in Encinitas
More social programs, homeless tents, and drug addicts.
    More crowded beaches.
    More paved everything.
More like LA and Orange County

    You have defeated yourself.

  15. The concrete queen just posted that it’s “confusing” that people are given time to buy or make masks before they become mandatory.

Mayor Concrete’s position is that we should declare masks mandatory immediately, even if you don’t have one, because that would be less confusing.

    Let’s vote now.

  19. One: the mandatory shut down of beaches came from the County.

Two: Without testing and repeated testing, no one can say this virus will not spread further.

Any who protest having to forego their beach or coastline activities until we can be assured such are not spreading the virus even further are selfishly ignorant.

Shouting profanities at our deputies for defending San Diego County's mandate is beyond redeemable.

In any other situation, if a citizen shouted such at a deputy they would deservedly be locked up.

Crista somehow was absent when the worst of this went on. Her recent camera seeking behavior should be condemned by anyone and everyone.

If anyone deserves to be cited, it is Crista.

Moonlight Beach, as everyone knows or should know, was scheduled to open up tomorrow, Monday.

What yesterdays protest was more about, was elevating Crista's visibility. She has her own personal agenda. I would hope the NC3 group would rethink her membership.

  21. I would ask that those who use Moonlight Beach starting on Monday morning follow the rules around the reopening. There are restrictions. Just abide by the restrictions. It is that simple. It is clear that the beach is being reopened for activities. Planting yourself in a static spot is not allowed. Gathering in groups is not allowed. Again, just follow the rules. Or beach access will (properly) be taken away.

I see the protestors in several groups: (1) those who acknowledge the science surrounding the pandemic and are arguing that social distancing can take place on the beach, (2) those such as the folks who chose to be arrested yesterday who are fighting any rules or restrictions from (it seems) a libertarian perspective, and (3) those who seem to be denying the science behind social distancing and want to get their nails and hair done right now.

Of those groups: #1 is reasonable. #2 is petty but mainly impacts the small number of people who end up getting arrested. #3 is indefensible--just figure out a way to do your own hair and nails and stop pushing an agenda that will, according to experts, negatively impact public health....

    Shut the fuck up Jeremy.

    34 people positive in Encinitas.

Not s single new case in 3 weeks.

Ignorant Carlsbad CC member votes to have sea level rise meetings before opening beaches and parks and now Carlsbad's 104,000 people are coming to Encinitas tomorrow riding on an LBGTQ sea level rise wave into your neighborhood.

    Just stop.

  23. I’m generally not a big fan of overzealous policing. But I think we should all agree to turn off recording devices and look away if the Sheriffs need to stomp some silly douchebags on the sand.

You have the right to have your balls stomped. If you can’t afford new teeth, a handful of Chiclets will be provided for you. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?

  25. Friendly advice to protestors: If a cop gives you a chance to walk away from a situation without having you arrested or cited, you should take them up on the offer and walk away. Common sense. The time and aggravation of fighting a criminal charge are not worth the petty fight you want to have.

For the three who were arrested yesterday, the protest had already made your point. Your arrests literally served no purpose.

  27. So as of last night there were reports all beaches in Encinitas would be open for excercise, surfing, swimming, running etc with the whole distancing whatever in place but now we're reading that was fully rescinded and they are as we speak having a meeting that will no doubt extend the decree of all beaches are off limits until mid-June or later.

These leaders cannot find they way out a a paper bag.

It will be interesting to see if the social distancing gets thrown out by the masses and huge social unrest erupts.

I think most have had it and the authorities will finally e overwhelmed.

The whole narrative of stay home save a life is pretty much pure unmitigated deception. You are an absolute fool if you believe it.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
