Crossbow bolt fired into Encinitas home

10 News:
On Vanessa Circle on Saturday afternoon, Gretchen Schmidt and her husband heard a noise, then found an arrow on their bedroom floor.

It was about 18 to 20 inches long with a metal tip. Brett Scott, owner of Willow Creek Archery, identified it as crossbow bolt, which can travel up to a quarter mile at high speeds.

The bolt pierced a screen, two glass panes and blinds, before landing feet from the bed.
No, it's not Olivenhain again. This is New Encinitas just behind El Camino Real.

    1. 2/3 of all homicides are by firearm. Your numbers.

I'm not sure "popular" is the right word, but that's most of them.

    2. 10,945 firearm homicides = more than 3.5 times the number killed in 9/11 attacks. But it happens

      every

      single

      year.

Think of all the blood and treasure spent by the USA in response to 9/11. Now ask yourself why there isn't a proportional response to gun violence.

    3. You say homicide like it's a bad thing. Homicide includes police shootings and self-defense.

    4. You fools, being shot by a gun is a very humane of being killed. What do you prefer to be bludgeoned to death by a baseball bat, rock or tire iron? How about a machete?

    2. Try showing one to a cop and see what happens...

  4. I have a friend that was carrying a baseball bat in his car a few years ago in Encinitas when he got pulled over and got arrested for not having ball and glove along with it, so it was considered a weapon.

    Un-freaking believable but true.

You just never know what mood someone of authority may be in. He was not disrespecting of the officer either.

He wasn't speeding or driving erratically at the time. I think it was eventually dismissed after causing him lots of time and trouble.

Ridiculous, but it happened. You just never know.

  5. Changing the subject, Encinitas Guerrilla is worth a read.

CB and BH, you paying attention? Take heed.

  6. That is a riot and lets hope her mouth takes it as constructive. Well worth changing the subject for a minute. Thanks 12:58pm.

I have seen some look at their wrist watch and time her. That is telling. Maybe Catherine needs a gong to ring when the mouth runs on and on and on, ad infinitum.

It would be a service to us all. Concise may be a term the mouth is not familiar with.
