*** City of Encinitas real time news***

The star of the show at last night’s City Council meeting:

I need to make a reminder to everybody here in this body of chamber that without being hypocritical tonight, everybody pledged allegiance to the US Constitution, as well as the republic of which it stands, and that exactly is what we have here, and that is all based on an English common law for almost the last 400 years so since colonial days English common law has presided in this country. Despite the fact that we had the Louisiana purchase, we’ve had other things we’ve had Spanish we’ve had French. It’s still common law and based upon that if you ever did your third grade or fourth grade lessons, and maybe you didn’t, but the fact is that you have to abide by that And everybody is entitled to a jury and nobody show convicted of anything in the public court, so the legal system is survived an onslaught of attack for many factions, but basically I want to get to the fact that we are not.

We are not under the French Napoleonic law. We have to prove yourself innocent against being guilty. You are innocent until proven beyond the reasonable doubt of your penis. That’s it, but nobody can add onto the things that in the interim period of the time in order to express their own bias so keep your facts straight and follow the law. Thank you.

  5. Personal highlight. Rachel Graves full meltdown at the podium because she can dish it out but can’t take the heat. Her attempt to circumvent the rules and get an extra 3 min time donation was classic- way to shut her down multiple times Bruce. Interesting how her pal Julie called for people from out of town to distinguish themselves yet Rachel forgot to mention she’s a Carlsbad resident.

Rachel is not an Encinitas resident. Owning property here and mommy and daddy’s house does not make one eligible to vote in town. If people from other towns want to speak, great. But Julie thunder should hold the same expectation that when Rachel speaks, she identify herself as a Carlsbad resident.

Regardless of where she lives, she needs some help. The evil eye and finger pointing at the council after not getting extra time was chilling.

    3. It’s cute that you think MAGA dummies are intellectually consistent.

They think local residency matters only insofar as it can be used to silence voices they do not agree with.

      Does not apply to Ratchel.

Just like they think Fletcher is guilty and it was just to remove him from office, even though no criminal charges were ever brought, and the civil case was dismissed. However Luke—who is on camera and stands charged with a violent felony—he needs due process and the presumption of innocence until the court process has played out. Also he should be around children while it plays out.

They are disgusting filthy low-intelligence people in a cult. Logic and reason don’t apply.

    4. Cheating on your wife with a subordinate is far worse than throwing styrofoam at an asshole who is trying to assault your tailgate while you park in an illegally reserved spot. I suspect you know that but your developer will pimp slap you if you don’t follow the script. You’re a good whore, free Fox point pint for you.

      Delete
    5. Straw Man argument. Who cares which action is worse? Both actions show someone unfit for office.

Cheating on your wife = no integrity, dishonesty, poor decision making

Throwing styrofoam in a constituent's face, threatening they would never get another permit, losing your temper = unfit for office, poor decision making, lack of impulse control, lack of respect for others, no integrity in how you carry yourself.

I don't care which is "worse". Both are bad. Both deserve to be called out.

      Delete
    6. A city council member serves all of us. Even if they are an asshole. Luke should have behaved better. Did Catherine Blakespear walk outside and threaten the people protesting at HER HOUSE? No. She had more restraint than Luke

Tony Kranz has a temper, yet he never THREW anything in someone's face. He never threatened they wouldn't get a permit. He knew where the line was a not to cross it. Luke doesn't

And even if the victim was an "asshole" as you say, we have every right to expect our city council members to be able to rise above that and not engage. Luke failed.

      Delete
    7. Sooooo, Luke supporters say Luke had the right to move the trash cans and he can park in front of someone's house if he wants and Declan is wrong for nit liking it.

Yet they forget that their own little Natalie Settoon only became involved in local politics because she did not like that people living in a van were parked in front of HER house and she went outside and a confrontation happened when she went to photograph them because she wanted them gone....Um, but it's the same kind of public space, right?????

    8. I live around the corner from Natalie, I don’t know or agree with much of what she says but I do know the street campers she was concerned about. The woman came after me after walking by their shitbox that had been illegally parked for several days. She was yelling at me for not having my old dog on leash and freaked out when I told her she was parked illegally and to worry about that. I told her husband it was time for them to leave, they over stayed their illegal stay. The woman wanted to fight me, I told the husband I won’t fight her but will beat his ass. They quickly moved, probably to infront of Natalie’s house. I know I know, that makes me a felon and I should be locked up.

      Delete
    9. I agree with you about the street campers in front of Natalie's house.

The point is you can't have it both ways. You can't have an issue with someone in front of your house and then call Declan an "asshole" also having an issue with someone in front of his house while 1) the trashcans are out for trash day and the trash hasn't picked them up and 2.) he's in the front yard doing a lot of work and was expecting the work truck to come back very soon.

So, Natalie;s the only one that gets to have an issue with people in front of her house, but no one else?

      Hypocrisy.

If Natalie was in her front yard doing some work and needed that space and the street campers attempted to park there, I do not believe she would have just shrugged it off if the street campers started to move her trash cans.

She works so closely with both Jim and Luke, running Luke's social media and introduced herself as Luke's campaign advisor. But after watching her last night, I hope that Luke, Jim, and Marco realize it would benefit them to distance themselves from her.

  8. I worked with Rachel at a clinic that is now closed, partly because of a lawsuit she initiated. She is NOT well.

No one insulted Marco's skin last night. And yet when Rachel came to the podium, she talked about knowing Marco since she was 5 and that she's so upset that someone "insulted his beautiful skin." Rachel hears things differently. This is a symptom.

I'm saying this as a supporter of the new council and someone who wants Bruce, Luke, Jim, and Marco to succeed. I know Rachel worked hard for your campaigns, but come on, please keep her at arm's length.

    1. Rachel talks more about skin color than anyone else. It’s weird how she always describes her husband as her “black husband”. And no one insulted Marcos “beautiful skin” (awkward). They just called out the obv, people with dark skin, are at risk of ice regardless of immigration status.

      Delete
    2. To be fair, Marco has claimed for years that everyone who opposes stack n'pack "hate brown people." To use a schoolyard phrase, "he started it."

And in the council's defense, they can't help who supports them. Think Blakespear and Jeremy Kron, (although in her case she encouraged him by publicly thanking him). This has been the case over the years for many a candidate.

Although I get that attempting to permanently bond certain supporters to Luke, Jim, Bruce, and Marco is the only drum the Marco and Mali crew have to beat.

    Luke here.

    Flag and stuff.

As you know, I’m important. I’m an Encinitas city council member. As an Encinitas city council member, I have certain responsibilities. The sheriffs all work for me. I manage trash collection schedules. I enforce parking laws.

I also have the important duty of testing trash cans.

Recently I was out testing trash cans and I found some not good. It made me mad. So mad. Mad enough to pick up a rifle and start shooting construction workers.

That’s why I need your help. I’ve setup a fund for you to buy better trash cans for Encinitas. I would buy them myself, but something is wrong with my credit card. Besides, I’m too important to pay for stuff.

I’m talking great trash cans. Tactical trash cans from FFI Tactical. It says tactical, so you know it’s good. These ones are designed to withstand an IED bomb blast. Pretty sure they would also hold up to being run over by a truck with an angry but important VIP city council member like me.

    https://ffitactical.com/blast-protected-trash-bins/

Go donate today so I, an Encinitas city council member, don’t have to.

      https://concernedcitizenofencinitas.substack.com/p/the-invisible-woman

      She doesn’t live in Encinitas.

      She wasn’t elected by anyone.

She doesn’t volunteer on a commission, serve on city staff, or hold any formal role.

And yet, she appears to be pulling the strings.

Behind campaign checks, closed-door meetings, social media commentary, and even city councilmember statements, Graves is acting as the unofficial architect of councilmembers’ political strategy—and, some say, of city policy itself.

If you think your council members are acting independently, think again. Public records, campaign finance filings, and multiple firsthand accounts all point to the same disturbing pattern: one woman, unelected and unaccountable, exerting outsized influence in Encinitas government.

      Thousands in Campaign Money—To Hawaii?

First, let’s follow the money. Campaign finance filings from “Shaffer for City Council 2024” show more than $3,382 in reimbursements made to Rachel Ann Graves for text messaging advertising, campaign expenses and other unspecified expenditures. Shaffer spent $27,000 on his campaign, with Graves responsible for channeling a significant portion of that spending. Clearly, Graves played a considerable role as Shaffer’s campaign manager. It’s curious that in the filings, Graves is listed as living in Honolulu, not in Carlsbad where she is registered to vote, nor in Encinitas where Shaffer was courting voters. Graves’ voter registration confirms her Republican affiliation.

When a political consultant or operative is:

      Paid with campaign money
Texting statements to be read in council meetings
Controlling public access to elected officials
Inserting herself into school board and commission debates
…you have to ask: who’s really in charge?

      Who’s Running Your City?

When unelected individuals operate behind closed doors, democracy suffers. The problem isn’t who Rachel Graves is—it’s how much power she holds without public knowledge or consent.

She does not sit at the dais.

She did not appear on any ballot.

But Rachel Graves is being empowered by the representatives you voted for to make decisions that impact your city, your schools, and your future.

That should alarm every voter in Encinitas.

Part of the comedy is back when Mali suggested that if Rachel doesn't like it here, she should move .... Mali didn't know Rachel doesn't even fucking live here. 🤣🤣🤣

You can not reason with someone like Rachel. They are very rigid in their thinking. They will turn on you quickly. They attack and if you respond, however kindly, they take your response as an attack on them. The paranoia is strong.

  34. This might help Bruce and all the Council Members:

What Happens When Someone with Borderline Personality Disorder"Turns on You":

Splitting: Also known as black-and-white thinking, splitting is a core symptom of BPD. A person may suddenly see you as a perfect person one moment and then a deeply flawed, "all bad" person the next. This sudden shift can be confusing and hurtful for others.

Intense Emotions: People with BPD experience intense, stormy, and unstable emotions. What feels like a personal attack or betrayal is often a manifestation of their internal emotional dysregulation and their intense fear of abandonment.

"Favorite Person" Behavior: In an attempt to cope with intense feelings and fear, someone with BPD may attach to a "favorite person" for support. This strong attachment can become unhealthy, and if the favorite person is perceived as a threat, it can lead to devaluing and anger directed at them.

    How to Respond
Do Not Take It Personally: Remember that this behavior is a symptom of BPD, not a reflection of your inherent worth or character.
Set Boundaries: Clearly defined boundaries are crucial in relationships with someone who has BPD. They need to understand where their behavior is unacceptable.
Communicate Clearly and Directly: When discussing upsetting issues, keep communication simple, short, and direct to avoid escalating emotional reactions, according to HelpGuide.org.

Encourage Treatment: Encourage the person with BPD to seek therapy, particularly DBT, which is designed to help people regulate emotions and build better relationships.

  35. When a person with bipolar disorder misinterprets a situation and turns on you, it is often a symptom of their illness, such as paranoia or distorted thinking, and not a personal attack. The intense mood swings of mania or depression can alter their perception of reality, causing them to believe you are trying to harm, deceive, or betray them, even without evidence.
    Why this happens
Paranoid delusions: During a manic or depressive episode, a person with bipolar disorder may experience psychosis, which can involve paranoia. They may become convinced that loved ones are conspiring against them, spying on them, or have hidden malicious intentions.
Cognitive distortions: Mood episodes can cause distorted thinking. Common distortions include:
Catastrophizing: Believing that a small mistake or event is a catastrophe.
Mind reading: Assuming they know what you are thinking, often interpreting neutral actions as personal slights.

As I stated down below, never had bipolar never said I did. If you’re going to stalk me on the internet at least get it all right.

Depression yes. Tends to happen to 19 year old girls when their dads die from cancer. Alcoholism, yes for a few years. Never drugs. 25 years sober come March.

I stopped all the work with our nonprofit because I fizzled out from working full time, marriage, life, etc and volunteering full time was too hard to do after 4 years of it.

But happily back to volunteering again in the community! While making time for pickleball, my puppies and personal life.

I’ve got a really great job, so not sure about the unemployed comment. But thanks to a great pension and retirement healthcare I won’t have To work too late into my life.

Like I said, it’s beyond our control.

Unfortunately, as of last night’s council meeting, Ratchel has won ALL of the victim points. There simply are no more.
