Benefit for Paolo Mattioli at the BPOE

It's strange. We live among so many amazingly talented and diverse people that we don't even know about some of them until adversity strikes. Paolo Mattioli is a local drummer who has performed with some of the all-time greats, but I didn't know about him until there was a benefit concert for him, having been recently diagnosed with cancer.

Here' Paolo's home page with bio and music.

Thanks to Tony Kranz for the heads-up. I wish I could be there.

  1. Is Kranz running for the council again?? If so, he should get on the ball and make the citizens aware of the travesty that is the current City Council. $$tock$$ will have big money thrown at his campaign in 2012, as he has been wounded by controversy. But the average voter is woefully uninformed and goes for the glitzy campaign propagananda, which will be copious for the reelection bid of the developers' jester boy ($tock$).

  2. Tony is more involved in city stuff than ever. He's a regular at council meetings and has spoken on the road report cover-up and other issues.

I assume he will run for council again, though he hasn't said so. Money is the big thing. He's going to need a lot of financial support from ordinary folks to compete with the big money the unions and developers will give Stocks and two yet-to-be-named fill-ins for Bond and Houlihan.

Tony has been involved in city stuff for years. Even before I knew Tony I remember the funny, laid back, accurate way he had of speaking before the council. My favorite one had to do with urging the council to follow thru with the traffic calming on Leucadia Blvd. west of the freeway. He said, "I have round about envy of the Sante Fe round about and it is not good to be envious. Leucadia Blvd. was slated for traffic calming ahead of Sante Fe, so would the council please help me and others by oking the improvements to Leucadia Blvd. "
Anon, please use this time to educate your friends and neighbors as to why you would not vote for Jerome Stocks or anyone that he supports.
Be factual and urge people to attend a city council meeting or watch it on T. V. Thanks for being a concerned citizen.
