City lined Glenn Sabine's pockets to the tune of $25,000 in futile attempt to keep road report secret

... and they may have to pay $40,000 for Kevin Cummins' CalAware attorney.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave...

The council will attempt to defend the indefensible to the public at tonight's meeting. Should be very entertaining.

  1. There's no accountability in government - that's why our systems are collapsing.

  2. What BS -- Sabine should be fired. His defense was weaker than piss tea.

  3. The city contracts $97,000 for a road report and then pays possibly $65,000 trying to hush it up a citizen activist tries to exercise his rights to review it. $tock$ says it was worth the money and Sabine thought it was precedent setting (the courts disagreed). Bond fuddles around making lame analogies comparing it to someone watching over you as you fix your car - and these guys are in charge!!! Maybe 2012 can't wait - recalls are in order. The stink from City Hall is almost unbearable now.

Kudos to Cummings - a light in the midst of darkness.

  4. Did you notice the Login Jenkins article where he subttly supports the city council's secretic actions? Tho he mildly chides the ongoing refusal to release a report, he then sets to attacking Cummings. Jenkins in essense is displaying sour grapes, saying Cummings is now obligated to go thru the report line by line. Jenkins misses the point of this whole episode - open disclosure of activities of your public officials.
But then again, Jenkins was Dalager's supporter until the tide turned and is reputed to be $tock$ listening post. Jenkins opinions have no credibility whatsoever.

  6. Under Jerome Stocks leadership, It has been proven that if you want something done right in Encinitas, you need to sew our City. How does such a low life stay in office. Encinitas voters must be the dumbest in San Diego County.

  9. Listening to the explinations of WHY they did what they did in this case at the Wednesday Council meeting, has only made it worse! We have to remove everyone except Teresa!

Glenn Sabine even gives sleazy lawyers a bad name!

  11. It is unbelievable that $tock$ can maintain office with the outrageous and blatant cronyism that he has outrightly displayed. He knows the electorate is largely uninformed and disinterested and that his developer buddies will chuck in the dough for the reelection campaign. They even dumped money into Dalager's futile attempt to be reelected, in spite of a smouldering scandal that crippled him. Gaspar teamed up with Danny the Crook and it didn't hurt her; I guess the public liked her dumb stunts. Is she at Comic Con this year as Conniving Con Concubine?? $tock$ can dress up like Kung Fu Panda and eat the eucalyptus leaves off the axed trees in Leucadia. Bonds can be the Mummy, Houlihan the Joker and Barth Captain America (female counterpart).
