Remember the City only has 10 years, per their own decision, to get this going before it can sell it. That was Teresa Barth's contribution to this debacle. She said she didn't think it would be fair to future Councils if they made whatever they put at PV in perpetuity to the City. I think we can see where this may end up.
And if the council wins the HEU vote this November, they'll be able to upzone Pacific view to high-density condos without a vote. Then they can flip the property for $20 million or more to pay for all those six-figure pensions. WINNING!!!
And for this Barth got her memorial fruitcase grove? This clause is a giveaway to future pacific stations ending up where DeWald always wanted to build. Thanks for very little Teresa. You get rewarded for what? If there were ever a less deserving person to be memorialized in our community with the caveat that it had already been granted, you are it.
If she can receive this honorarium, just imagine who else could be coming along and without public input receive the same thing. Naming rights should be in the publics hands. It is OUR tax dollars that are being sold out.
Our parks are our treasures and the recent past clearly shows council is not reliable to protect these from being sold out to undeserving individuals.
This goes for our library especially. If the Mizels had any conscience, they would be happy to have a dedicated plaque or maybe even a room in the library named for Pat. But no, they have to go overboard for the whole building. Enough already. Don't sell out our public treasures for any amount of money. These are not for council to sell. They belong to us. What a cheap move this is.
When the princess brought this before the council and recused herself, I could only imagine what support she was offered in return for her county supervisor campaign. As one of the oldest occupations known to mankind, our mayor has joined as a willing partner.
.....everyones heads are still spinning from the City going $13 million more in DEBT for a $4 million dollar property and a fancy lifeguard tower.

Fruit case tends fruit trees. Fitting ending.
DeleteFruitcase. You keep using this word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Gaspar is going to try and max out the Peter Principle - or test the stupidity of the general electorate.
ReplyDeleteGASpar couldn't pack her bags soon enough.
