  1. What Bullshit.... more money for Fire Princesses.

Whoever votes for this will not get my vote next election.

City Manager needs to be fired for even presenting this wasteful crap.

Oh we don't respond to calls very quickly. I don't want to wake up and get in the truck quicker, so the City should spend another $500,000 per year.

    1. The initial outlay is almost a million dollars for the first year. The emergency truck - just like the one on the 1972 TV series Emergency. Will the city get Randolph Mantooth as a paramedic.

    2. When I went to the library Wed. afternoon, hours before the Council Meeting, it looked as though ALL the Fire Dept. vehicles were parked on D St., between City Hall and the library. They didn't all need to be there, taking up limited parking, and not at their respective fire stations, where they could be more efficiently dispatched.

  3. I just cleaned up the garbage left behind by the bums at Leucadia Roadside park. Thanks city for all the trash you dump on us....

Time to flood the park so they have no place to sit or lay down.

  4. City Council doesn't want to get on the wrong side of public employees, so they never oppose what the fire department proposes, regardless of nonsense and cost.

The new truck and its close to $1 million cost will supposedly improve response times and drop one of the barriers to Leucadia Streetscape, a project that has more negatives than positives.

    1. They have enough equipment. Let them sell pancakes to come up with the money.

  5. 9:07AM If the Roadside Park were more citizen friendly, like having a park bench and a water fountain, perhaps we could ALL be enjoying it, but all it takes is ONE selfish person to bitch, moan and complain to ruin it for everyone else. Maybe if you got off yer fat ass and let the city know about the trash they would make an effort to keep it looking cleaner, but then you wouldn't have an opportunity to nail yourself to your little Cross. They have removed the lock someone put on there, BTW.

    1. Intolerant are we?? Maybe you should come and clean the park of all the trash the bums leave. It would be a good excercise for you.

    2. Intolerant? Ha.

I saved up big money to buy my home and I don't want sketchy homeless drug addicts ruining our neighborhood. Maybe I am intolerant to people who steal and rape children. So what?

Hey City Manager and City Council, how about you set a bathroom up in your neighborhood. Lets see what your neighbors thinks?

What? Intolerant are you. Come on hypocrite!

  6. 6:35PM I'm amazed you know how to spell "intolerant". Well done!

  7. On a lighter note...announced at tonight's Planning Commission meeting: today was Kerry Kusiak's last day with the City. Developers weep, residents rejoice!

Kusiak is moving to the city of La Mesa, where he can continue collaborating with Glenn Sabine, who splits his time "serving" both Encinitas and La Mesa.

  8. Cant wait until the City Manager is fired or quits. She is the worst City Manager in the County if not the State.

The City has bid issues and priorities to address and all she can do is run around from one minor "emergency" to the next. WTH?

We need a professional City Manager that can lead the update of a clear easy to explain General Plan to guide the City and then implement needed projects instead of wasting time and ruining neighborhoods. Our City is going backwards under her watch.

City Council- Fire the this crappy spastic passive aggressive City Manager and get someone who can actually lead with a clear vision and someone that people can respect.

    1. Ah, the same city worker once again showing how much the CM is a threat to those who don't want to interrupt the substandard SOP at city hall..

And don't forget: she "serves at the pleasure of the council." Go take up your workplace complaint with the council.

    2. Well- lets see-

Since she has been City Manager. Nothing positive has been accomplished.

The highest priority project the Leucadia Streetscape was dealt a terrible blow by the unbelievable and unimaginable EIR listing issues that were complete BS.

Why the City Manager let that EIR draft go out is beyond me. That set the Streetscape back years. Remember folks- We were pushing for streetscape in 2003 and got a city Council appproved Streetscape conceptual plan approved by a long awaited 2010. Since then barely no action. And the crappy City Manager issued that BS EIR report study.

She needs to go. She has no Visions and is bad for Encinitas.

Council will change and we will fire this scatterbrained ditz as City Manager. That will be a good day for Encinitas.

    3. 11:33 - who is the "we" in "We were pushing for Streetscape"? The only ones pushing for it were Charlie Marvin and a couple of misguided business owners who imagined that being stuck in traffic would make people want to pull over and shop in their stores.

Classic developer speak to complain about an EIR. Gosh those things are annoying, aren't they? Haha.

Ask any regular Leucadia resident and they'll say "no" to streetscam.

    4. The truth hurts, 11:33. Misguided business owners/property owners also were hoping their properties would be worth much more, at the general public's expense, and would become eligible for high density development after so-called traffic "mitigation" of five road obstruction one lane roundabouts with no throughway cross-streets, and no separated bike lane. The plan was a farce, pushed through by a few with insider connections.

Most locals want aesthetic improvements, want the potholes, including on Neptune, to be fixed, and want a bike lane separated from the highway. Most don't want the highway to be shrunk down to one lane northbound and one lane southbound, destroying a vital part of our circulation element.

  10. Its time to vote in someone to set this City in the right direction.

    2. Haha, you got 1:10 am right, 5:23!

  11. Nope. The right candidate protects existing residents quality of life and does not put porto potties in neighborhood inviting the sketch homeless to camp out in our neighborhoods.

There are a lot of homeless in Cardiff near the tracks, why not move the porto-pottle from Leucadia to Glenn Park?
