A woman was fatally struck by an Amtrak train early Thursday morning in Encinitas, according to authorities.900 N. Vulcan is at Leucadia Boulevard, also the site of a fatality last year.
The collision happened about 12:27 a.m. in the 900 block of North Vulcan Avenue, where the woman was sitting on the railroad tracks, said San Diego County sheriff's Deputy Marcus Levine.
UPDATE: A commenter says this was around G and H Streets in Encinitas, which would be 900 South Vulcan, behind the Lumberyard. Sounds like someone either suicidal or drunk late at night in the bar district.
This happened between G and H street last night. Not in Leucadia. 900 N Vulcan is in Encinitas. Woke up to all the commotion outside. So sad.
ReplyDeleteCorrect South Vulcan not North Vulcan! My mistake! The article is not correct.

ReplyDeleteIt is about suggestions, access and availability, as far as suicide along the railroad tracks. Not to mention affirmation of suicide ( sign) pointing at the railroad tracks. Having signs for those venerable to suicide,to see daily, along the railroad track may not be as supportive as those that put them up may think. If you travel along our 101 corridor daily and use leucadia blv to travel, you're hit right between the eyes with the word suicide, on a sign right next to the railroad tracks, subconscious affirmation. Bummer
Do you mean vulnerable?
DeleteCan't tell if you're for suicide signs or against.
