  1. I like it when they cancel meetings. The less the City does, the better for the community.

It seems every decision they make helps developers or bar owners and hurts the existing residents. This existing City Council and Mayor suck!! and the City Manager which they support is the worst City Manager in California.

  2. Unfortunately, the Mayor and Council have set into place several terrible plans that are being carried out by the city manager and department heads. The restriping of residential streets for bicycle lanes and removal of parking spaces is now coming to fruition. The Council's Active Transportation Plan and Climate Action Plan carry all the photo and diagrams on how the Council wants to change Encinitas. Write letters, protest and let the Mayor and Council know these two plans should be thrown in the trashcan.
The next City Council meeting will be almost a most away. In the meantime, the city staff are working to change the character
    of each neighborhood.

  4. Wait'll El Cam Real folks wake up to Catherine's cycling restripe mania. Should be grimly entertaining.

    1. When it happens, and it will, may I suggest taking the Kramer approach when adopted a portion of highway. Load a car with paint products (roller, roller pan, lots of paint) and black out the white striping with stated roller while driving. Or black spray paint. The choice is yours.

    2. Rail trail enjoyed by so many "mobility alternatives," bikes can't use it as the mayor proudly advertises. Her answer to her #1 mobility stakeholder is to paint sharrows on San Elijo.

    3. It must really piss you off to see so many happy people enjoying a highly successful project, huh?

    4. Not at all. Just pointing out predictable fact that Catherine's favorite food group did not get the space she sold them on getting from her cement path so she's now accommodating them where she said they would not go: on the narrow San Elijo/Vulcan mixed in with cars.

Ask the guy whose dog was killed when too many "modes of transportation" collided one day on the RT. Ask him how successful he finds the project.

    5. If the dog was on leash as required by law and good sense then why wasn't the owner killed as well. Remember, a six foot leash is the maximum length. I see jerks all the time with dogs off leash at parks and the beach. Jerks putting their pups in danger.

    6. Happy people? I live nearby and walked the trail yesterday. The majority seemed grim -- no smiling, staring straight ahead when passing, and wearing dark glasses. The sign says maximum speed of 8 mph. Some determined electric bike riders and one woman on roller blades were demon speeders weaving in and out of others. It's Blakespear's folly because it has actually increased greenhouse gas emissions with many driving spewing CO2 to get to the trail. I only saw one neighbor that I recognized and briefly chatted with.
