The developer of the Goodson project in Olivenhain has announced a virtual CPP meeting on July 23, 2019. The project intends to pack 283 for-lease apartments in 6.95 gross acres to create the tallest building in Encinitas.We still have no idea if this is only the developer's opening gambit and he hopes a scaled-back version will placate the neighbors, or if he really wants to build this monstrosity now that Mayor Blakespear and friends have demolished the Prop A height limits.

This is greed, period. It is amazing that the City of Encinitas re-zoned the parcel from horse property to ghetto zoning for apartments. The historic value of the area settled by those pioneers is about to be ruined by greed.

In calling out the institutional racism of the modern Republican Party, I usually focus on people either running for office, or already in a public sector position of power. It’s too easy to call out the average Joe racist Republican, and they don’t usually have much power or responsibility to affect our lives.
This case is an exception to the public sector rule is made, because the racist Republican in question is a CEO who wields significant economic power.
He went on a racist tirade against an Asian family at a restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Thankfully, one of the family members recorded it. Thankfully Twitter was able to identify the CEO. And thankfully he’s probably out of a job.
