The bottom line is the roads are designed poorly which is causing the bad driver behaviors. Until you fix the root problem, people are going to die.,
Carmel Indiana figured it out and is saving lives By 90% fatality reduction., I think they must love their children more than we do.
They’re also saving money in lower maintenance costs, funerals, and so much opportunity cost.
We can be better. Let’s do what they did to improve the situation.
Roundabouts are a safer alternative to traffic signals and stop signs. The tight circle of a roundabout forces drivers to slow down, and the most severe types of intersection crashes — right-angle, left-turn and head-on collisions — are unlikely.
the only person who truly thinks Jim O'Hara is "nailing it" is Jim O'Hara.
He's so weak, he couldn't even keep himself from responding to the public comment mentioning his RunSanDiego instagram use, out of order, by the way. If Blakespear or Kranz had done that, you'd be outraged
Stripped housing plant down to the bare minimum…. This is a program that can nearly be eliminated, and the money could be used to maintaining infrastructure and making the roads safer for children.
Jim's business acct on Instagram has liked posts by anonymous, politically-driven accounts, posts that relate to issues that come before him in council chambers. Completely inappropriate.
Natalie and Rachel need a new hobby. Their current hobby is fixating on a person and deliberately misunderstanding and twisting everything they do. Natalie is obsessed with getting Tarquin fired and Rachel is not fixated on Kristine Schindler teaching kids to ride bikes safely (what a horrible thing to do!)
It's nothing but more malicious accusations that Rachel feeds to her open-mouthed council birdies. And Jim run's with it. He had the gall to ask if Nick had a relationship with any bike safety instructor outside of council meetings? Reminds me of a date night at Carlsbad City Council.... is that a relationship when your gal pal helps you get your walker out of the trunk?
Does the city council even care about proper procedure and Robert's Rules of Order. So much interrupting. You can't do that! Don't talk when someone else has the floor. You have to wait until you are recognized. O'Hara is the worst, he constantly interrupts, Interrupting is such an arrogant thing to do.
Ever seen a Carlsbad City Council meeting? Or any other community? Ours is an embarrassment in comparison. Other city councils are at least polite and don't grandstand and interrupt like Ornery O'Hara
Jim had some bright moments, acknowledging the road, designs are poor and are resulting in people getting hurt , but then goes off about some ridiculous communist plot to control everybody by surveillance.
Luke started to get fire up and I thought he might choke out Jim at one point.
Marco, well he voted however Luke wants him to vote.
Arizona Joy, yeah she’s back being the developers whore. A well paid whore for her services directly from the developers..
The shitty Hall continues to push these programs that waste all of the tax dollars and consumes all of the city council’s time
All of these operational programs result in no money being available to maintain the infrastructure.
The City of Encinitas, while embarrassing And at times quite humorous, is completely not representing the taxpayers.
It’s very very wasteful and it actually impacts the quality of life in Encinitas because the infrastructure is not being maintained.
What happens when infrastructure is not maintained is then it breaks like the street stairs or the roads, And then staff screams that it’s an emergency.
What a fucked up ridiculous nonfunctioning City Hall.
Definitely in the top three worst run City Hall’s in the county if not the state. π
And I review a lot working for a state audit agency.
Good morning Encinitas!! we are so lucky to live in this amazing town and I am thankful.
I appreciate our new city council, however, I have some serious concerns about their lack of actions at City Hall. Let’s start by talking about the Subject: Urgent Need for City Maintenance and Improvements
I want to bring attention to some pressing maintenance issues our city is facing, especially following the last night’s acceptance of a $100,000 donation for a new park. While supporting communal initiatives is important, we must consider the overall costs of these projects. If the park is valued at $30 million, do we have sufficient funds, or will it require hundreds of similar donations to realize?
We should consider starting a community brick program, where residents can contribute. Everyone must play their part, including those benefiting from city services. for those trust funders and non taxpayers out there that don’t pay any taxes they could easily contribute $100,000 per brick. Right BlakeSpears, Kinder-Kellie, and Tranz?
Moreover, we’re facing potential lawsuits similar to those filed by Dr. Worley and Roberta Walker, which could lead to payouts exceeding $50 million. With worn-out roads damaging our vehicles and safety concerns like the cyclist who recently hit a pothole, the city could be looking at additional costs of $50,000 to $100,000—how many more accidents will it take before we prioritize road repairs?
Specifically, what’s the current status of reopening and maintaining D-Street? The years without maintenance of stairways under the previous Parks and Recreation Director, now serving as manager, have left us with no safe access.
Additionally, we’ve observed the trail collapse at Beacon Beach accelerating, despite it not even raining. The thinning base and cracks indicate that it could close soon if immediate action isn't taken. We must develop a new access point on the south side of Beacon Beach, just like it was done 40 years ago.
Furthermore, the imported weight near the bike racks has caused further instability on the north side, jeopardizing neighboring properties. We must address this proactively to avoid a disaster that could cost the city and taxpayers upwards of $10 million to $20 million when property collapses.
We also see the problems from floods in Leucadia; how long until the city council discloses the lawsuit settlements and taxpayer payouts? It's essential we tackle our drainage issues too, as they are being neglected.
If current leadership continues to neglect these issues, our city will just be stuck in a cycle of ineffective management. The lack of progress under the current city hall isn't encouraging. It feels as if the city mirrors the broader inefficiencies we see at times with larger governments.
This town desperately needs improvement. I genuinely wonder if neighboring cities would be willing to help or even consider annexation for a better governance approach. Solana Beach or Carlsbad, for instance, could be a better alternative.
Let’s come together as a community and demand that our city council addresses these issues directly. We deserve a city hall that supports our needs and ensures Encinitas moves forward positively.
What are your thoughts on how we can drive these improvements together?
I completely agree and realize that the current mess was really made by Blakespear,’s Kranzinitas… Bruce and his team got handed this City Hall that is completely dysfunctional and incompetent throughout.
Unfortunately, they’re not stepping up. What can we do to help them get a functional City Hall in place?
Natalie and the SWOE are doing their part but others really need to step up and demand that needed change occur.
Please, let’s all do our part and what can we all do to accelerate getting a functional city hall?
I'm not lying. I scroll past all the dumb repetitive long comments and there are so many that's basically all that happens here now. I doubt I'm alone because most people don't want to read the same dumb shit repeatedly, even if they agree with your idiot comments.
8:01- Well, that’s because you’re inside of the dysfunctional City Hall, and getting paid by the taxpayers for your cushy non-performance.
The rest of us see the problems and the huge waste of tax dollars.
We actually pay the property tax unlike Tony Kranz and other trust funders like Catherine Blakespear and kindergarten Kelly.
It’s a big deal for the rest of us who pay tens of thousands of dollars per year and don’t get any responsible City Services.
I can say that one good recent change is starting to enforce laws. Natalie is right. The current city attorney needs to get fired.
Additionally, there’s many more top level managers that are responsible for the in effective current City Hall and bad road designs and they need to go.
Start with the incompetent AZ Park and Recreation Department Manager responsible for the lack of maintenance of D-street Stairs.
When is our beach access going to open?
Beach access is why we bought are house here 30 year ago. We maintain our house and its infrastructure, why can’t the City maintain its facilities and infrastructure?
We pay huge property and sales tax. When will the stairs open?
MTS sobfest. Some people want to go all in on surveillance society.

Will they get to the agenda topic?
Fuck surveillance society. Fricken Freakshow Commie bitches.

ReplyDelete5:33- You can not count, friend.
DeleteNo wonder your logic is off.
Jim O’Hara is nailing it!!!
ReplyDeleteUh oh, Jim’s going down hill now talking placing mor mecommie laws on the books for more non-enforcement .

5:29pm 'We can't get no relief'
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
Maybe you need more fiber…
DeletePut up more signs around the city, telling everybody to eat more fiber that will make the roads safer…
DeletePeople slow down when they’re eating, healthy, diets full of fiber.
More fiber equals slowing the fast… Put up more signs…
More signs, “Eat more fiber, slow the gas”
ReplyDeleteThat’s right, signs are the answer and flashing lights , they haven’t worked yet, but they’re going to start working sometime in the future.
We need an emergency declaration to put up hundreds of signs on each street
“ Eat More Fiber, Slow the Gas”
This time we got it right.
Sequence the lights, per Jim's comment.
ReplyDeleteSynchronization of lights doesn’t matter when people are not stopping… The lights performed very poorly, and theirs is no enforcement.
DeleteTwo more cop positions won’t do anything. One will be out on disability and the other one will be out cruising the beach on more bikini patrol.
As a result, Karen’s are screaming for communist, squashing of liberty and strict Granny state cameras, during every part of your life.
Soylent Green is here, But first of the running man.
Alex and his Droogs will be right over to discuss your "thinking", it's real horrorshow.....
DeleteSummary of meeting:
ReplyDeleteLots of babbling.
Some great comments from the parents of the deceased. RIP Emery.
More babbling and words…
No significant change to their plan
Bottom line- No change from before the meeting. And people cannot get that hour back in their life.
More children and moms will die. π’
Now let’s hear from our local heroes in the public oral comments.
ReplyDeleteAlways the best part of the meeting.
