    2. 7:03 We're not in a recession dipshit. Quite the contrary.
No—the United States is not currently considered to be in a recession.

The latest government estimate, released July 30, 2026, shows that the economy grew at an annualized rate of 1.5% during the second quarter of 2026, after growing 2.1% in the first quarter. Two consecutive quarters of economic growth are inconsistent with the common recession rule of thumb.

      Employers added approximately 57,000 jobs.

    6. 7:29 time and time again you prove you're an idiot or a liar.

California’s latest unemployment rate is 5.2% for June 2026, down slightly from 5.3% in May and 5.5% in June 2025. That represents approximately 1.02 million unemployed Californians out of a labor force of about 19.6 million.

For comparison, the national unemployment rate was 4.2%, meaning California’s rate is about one percentage point higher and tied among the highest state rates in the country.

    7. 7:29 Liar.....

The labor-force participation rate did fall to 61.5% in June, but it is not literally the lowest reading in 50 years—it was lower during the COVID era and is currently at its lowest level since March 2021 (under Biden).

The “50-year low” comparison only applies if the pandemic years are deliberately excluded. It is also important to remember that participation includes everyone age 16 and older, including a rapidly growing number of retirees. An aging population has been expected to push the overall rate downward for years, so this figure does not automatically mean millions of working-age Americans have simply given up looking for jobs.

    8. Nope, Labor participation has been falling since 2002. More and more people aren't working for a lot of different reasons,

People aren't working right now, ask around. People in their 50's aren't working, people in their 20's aren't working, and those who are are working at markets, Walmart or dollar stores.

Why aren't people who want to work able to find jobs, other than companies laying off millions of workers to allegedly implement AI. We have a jobs crisis in this country, and only the investor class doesn't give a shit.....

    10. Inflation and Purchasing Power: Under Biden, inflation surged to a 40-year high of 9.1% in mid-2022. Although price growth eventually cooled, the cumulative price increases severely eroded real wages and household purchasing power, leaving consumers with a lasting sense of economic anxiety regarding affordability.

Interest Rates: To combat that inflation spike, the Federal Reserve aggressively hiked benchmark interest rates to a 23-year high (5.25%–5.50%), which drove mortgage rates above 7% and made housing and consumer credit drastically less affordable for average Americans.

Federal Deficits: Large-scale federal spending packages passed during the Biden administration contributed to a rapidly expanding national debt and persistent fiscal deficits, which critics argue fueled inflationary pressures.

While the Biden administration oversaw robust job creation and low headline unemployment, the argument that it was a worse economic environment centers on the acute pain of inflation and high borrowing costs that severely strained household budgets compared to the current landscape.

In short, Trump and the Republican Party are undoing the damage Biden's Democrat party put us in.

    11. 8:00 you support my argument that California has major problems under Newsom's Progressive Dem leadership. The rest of the country has unemployment in the 4% range. LA County is run by a bunch of Progressive Dems who make is nearly impossible for businesses to thrive. Hence the reason most businesses are leaving our state for other ones.

    12. "Private sector job growth dropped 60% in two months. ADP data shows employers added just 16,500 jobs per week as of July 4, down from 40,750 in early May. June's jobs report came in at 57,000, about half of expectations. Initial claims just fell to their lowest level since 1969. Companies have stopped adding headcount but they're not cutting either. The job market isn't crashing. It's locked up.

      My Take
This is what a hiring freeze looks like at a national scale. If you have a job, you're holding on. If you're looking, good luck. It takes 800 applications to land an entry-level position right now. Discouraged workers are at the highest level since January. Labor force participation is at a five-year low. The 4.2% unemployment rate only looks healthy because people are leaving the workforce entirely.

Oil hit $100 today and the Fed meets next week with markets pricing in a hike instead of a cut. JPMorgan is cutting 30-40% of staff in some departments and replacing them with AI. Hiring is slowing because companies are learning to operate with fewer people, and the workers who lose those positions are walking into a market where almost nobody is adding headcount. If oil stays above $100 and the Fed hikes, the freeze turns into layoffs."

      Delete
    13. 7:58 Idiot!
Yes, overall labor-force participation has declined over the long term. However, that measure includes everyone age 16 and older, including a rapidly growing retired population. That is why economists also examine people in their prime working years. In June, 83.3% of Americans ages 25–54 were participating in the labor force, and 80.2% were employed. Those figures do not support the claim that working-age Americans broadly “aren’t working.”

“Ask around” is not reliable evidence of a nationwide jobs crisis. Personal experiences matter, but they cannot replace data covering roughly 170 million workers. The unemployment rate was 4.2% in June, approximately 57,000 jobs were added, and average private-sector earnings increased to $37.64 per hour. The market has weakened, but those are not depression-level or mass-unemployment numbers.

The claim that most employed people are working at Walmart, markets or dollar stores is also plainly false. Retail trade accounts for about 16.1 million jobs, roughly 12% of non-farm business employment. Most Americans work in other industries, including healthcare, professional services, construction, manufacturing, education, transportation and government.

Companies are not laying off “millions of workers” specifically to replace them with AI. In May, the economy still had approximately 7.6 million job openings, while the layoffs-and-discharges rate was 1.1%. Layoffs occur every month in a labor market this large, but the official data do not show an unprecedented AI-driven purge of millions of workers.
It is fair to say hiring has slowed and that some job seekers especially recent graduates, older displaced workers and people in certain white-collar fields are having a difficult time. But that is very different from claiming that Americans generally are not working or that only investors care. The accurate conclusion is that the labor market has softened, not that the country is experiencing a nationwide jobs collapse.

    16. Here's the problem with 25-54, college age grads are 22-23, and that's a huge hiring gap right now, as if the age cohort of 55 and up workers, which is becoming a huge demographic as people live and work longer. We have to quit picking and choosing stats and saying things like it's a soft labor market. The labor market is terrible and people are shit scared of losing jobs. If you're rolling in dough because daddy left you millions to invest, you're lucky.

It's why she's always tryin to try to make Kellie look stupid. Her ongoing twisting of the term hydrophobic being a great example. She ran against Kellie and got absolutely stomped and she'll NEVER get over it. She lost, mostly because also like LukeJim, her personality disorders are super obvious. She's completely unlikable once you see her in action. LukeJim's gonna get a big taste of that next election now that people know who he is.
