Dirtiest election mailer yet

Exactly two years to the day since the infamous Lincoln Club hit piece, which came four days after a $4000 payment from Jerome Stocks to the Lincoln Club, we get this.

If a smear campaign like this can buy control of city council, we're all in deep trouble.

  1. Wander over to SD Roatra and give Jerome some support on the comments.
He is pretty happy with himself.

    wc. What's that link

  2. Stocks SD Rostra link: http://sdrostra.com/?cat=18

This is a link that was on a poster that Mr Ogden, alleged victim in Encinitas Goof’s (Andreen), video.

Quote from the DESTROY AMERICA sign holder that Stocks is defending:
“I was assaulted last night by a stupid fat lady that was supposedly on our side, like you say, because she did not like my sign. I get more opposition from Tea Partiers that I do from the “other” side.”
David Ogden (video guy talking about another alleged assault)

  3. These kind of mailers are quite expensive. Who has the money to do this? Certainly not Yost or that other guy. Lisa Shaffer, not even close, so that means there are three candidates running for re-election who do have the funds for this kind of smear. To resort to this level shows that they are the ones who have Personality Problems, not Tony Kranz. There's no use naming names, because they will deny it. It's sickening. Let's hope this backfires, like the Clown stunt did for Maggie Houlihan. If we ever needed the help of the angels, it is right now.

  4. The organization that put this hit piece out is "San Diego County Voters for Progress and Reform" with an address of 7185 Navajo Road Suite P. This suite is also the address of C. April Boling, an accountant as well as the mailing address of No on D, Yes on EE, Jan Goldsmith's campaign, Carl DeMaio's campaign, Lori Zapf campaign and the General Contractors of San Diego. C. April Boling often acts as the treasurer for the candidates.
This is exactly the way Scott and Cronin are set up and function for Stocks and Muir. Clearly, the San Diego County Voters for Progress and Reform is only a front to put out despicable material. I call on Mayor Stocks and Councilman Muir to repudiate this flyer, which goes beyond just bad taste to border on the libelous. Mayor Stocks should think twice about someone "inventing" a mental profile of him ...

  5. “I was assaulted last night by a stupid fat lady that was supposedly on our side, like you say, because she did not like my sign. I get more opposition from Tea Partiers that I do from the “other” side.”
David Ogden

This does not justify Tony's behavior.

  6. No, Rob it does not. It does show that this little guy may use the term 'assaulted' pretty loosely. I believe Tony may have knocked the "DESTROY AMERICA" sign that Ogden was holding. Look at the web site Ogden promotes. Swastika signs, hitler mustashes on Obama and other hate messages.
Rob, are you defending Ogden? That is your right.
I am OK with Tony. I saw him defend reason and fairness. I will vote for him. I will not vote for the ethic deprived sponsors of this dispicable hate mailer. Muir and Stocks and Forester.
It would seem that Stocks has been called out on his sponsorship of the hit piece on SD Rosta site. He has yet to respond.

    1. Jerome Stocks claims he knew nothing about the hit piece and if you believe that have I got a property for you. I look forward to the community putting Mr. Stocks out to pasture on Nov. 6.

    2. Why would I need to defend Ogden?

I'm planning to vote for Tony but have strong reservations. I don't know what to believe about the threatening phone call re: campaign sign theft, but given Tony's history of being a hothead I have to wonder. Setting aside the phone call, Tony's side of the story is bizarre and clearly fabricated.

I tend to agree with Kranz on the issues and am very much against Stocks/Bond/Gaspar/Muir.

    3. Clarification, if needed....
Tony does not have a history of being a hothead. The threatening phone calls are a fabrication that Andreen and Stocks have promoted. Look at 6:10 post. Links the accuser backed web site and quote from alledged frequent assault victim.
There is absolutely no reason for Kranz to lie about signs being stolen. He was not seen or videoed putting any signs up early.

    4. Destroying a protester's sign, physically intimidating him, giving him the finger = hothead behavior = Tony has history of being a hothead.

There is no way you could possibly know whether Tony had reason to lie.

It's irrelevant that (to your knowledge) he wasn't seen putting up the signs. I'm not asserting that Tony put up signs early. I'm saying his story is not plausible and makes him sound like an idiot. It smacks of a person in the grips of sudden panic making a desperate improvised accusation. Someone broke into his garage, stole old campaign signs, and put them up to make it look like he broke the rules... right. Does he have any bridges to sell?

  7. This is the lowest of the low. If they were to cherry pick moments of any sitting Council member or any of us who have spoken passionately at meetings, the same conclusions could be drawn about any of us.

The people making the accusations have absolutely no credibility, and all of these comments are hearsay. Only people who were truly slimey would even think to do this type of thing---again and again.

This just indicates to me that they are more frightened than they let on. They tried the same thing with Teresa last time with that horrible post card campaign, and this is on par if not worse than the clown!

Hang in there Tony! Teresa and Maggie won, and you will too!

  8. I Like Tony and was and wanted to vote for him!

The flyer was mailed to my house. Please tell me, is any of it correct - please be specific, otherwise, I'll believe it's all true and vote for someone else!

If Mr. Stocks had a record like this wouldn't we be pasting him with it? We sure have been pasting him with the sticky DUMP STOCKS stickers (littering our community) - except with any real back up.

We should both play fair! I don't like negative mailers, but didn't our side start this?

    1. Yes, it's true. Kranz got into an argument more than two years ago with a guy carrying a sign portraying Obama as Hitler. No one was assaulted, no one was hurt, no one was arrested or charged, no one filed any civil claims. Just an argument.

If that's enough to make you want two more years of this council majority, well, you're entitled to your opinion.

    2. "...did our side state this?"
If our side is Stocks/Muir, YES.
      If not, No.
Ethics shine on the side of Kranz/Schaffer.

  9. Our elections in Encinitas, this year, have become a well-financed and sometimes dishonest contest between residents and developer’s (almost all from out of city).
Stocks, Muir, and Forrester are their stooges. I’ve watched this kind of politic in San Diego for nearly two decades and now Stocks has helped (with the Lincoln-Club, the AGC, and other developer interests) to tarnish our great little city. When we were founded 25 years ago it was to try to avoid this stuff but I’m afraid Stacks is working to roll back the clock!

  10. Kranz should put out a piece on Stocks and Muir - a majority of the voters in this town don't know about their insider deals or cronyism and pro-developer status. Muir get $170K pension and now moves into the public trough again; Forrester thinks citizens should have no part in the decision process. Kranz has played it too low key - he may become like Busby - a runner up every time.

  11. This slander piece must have been sent to selective areas in the city, as I didn't see one in old Encinitas. I suspect it was sent to those areas where it is perceived that there are fewer citizen activists - uninformed people that are more easily swayed by misinformation. $tock$ is one slimey greaseball - it is time to send him packing into oblivion. Get rid of Muir too - this over-pensioned toad is just another shill for the developers.

    1. It was sent to least likely registered voters. The least likely voters (registered voters missing election cycles) are usually the least informed.
