You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch
In an apparent reference to the city workers who purged Sweet Baby Jesus with great haste on Christmas Eve, the kook bears a grinch mask today.
Every Who Down in Whoville Liked Christmas a lot...
But the Grinch,Who lived just north of Whoville, Did NOT!
The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season!
Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be his head wasn't screwed on just right.
It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all,
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.

The city under vina hates any happiness or peace for the tax payers.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Grinches.
You can't stop the spirit!
Merry Christmas, Whoville.
ReplyDeleteProbably were paid double time for destroying the Spirit of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteKnowing Vina backwards actions, probably triple time and increased their benefits as well.
ReplyDeleteStart correcting the problem, fire Vina. He helped ruin Stockton, Sacramento and our State…. now he is financially ruining Encinitas.
They took it down on a non-holiday, but that's why most of the good decorations are done late on a Friday night, hint, hint...
ReplyDeleteThats the screwed up way of our City, focused on taking down a cool christmas scene by guys paid 3 times their worth and will end up with tax sucking unnecessary pensions.
ReplyDeleteFire Vina and get some real leadership.
Merry Christmas to our city manager, Mr Vina and his family.
ReplyDeleteand good wishes to our city employees who help make our city a beautiful place to live and celebrate this holiday season.
of course it is grossly unfair to attack anyone in our city over removing the unpermitted religious display on city/public property. Everyone should know that altering public art, installing religious messages and creating a hazard
would and should be removed.
I would hope that the Christmas Spirit should be shared with everyone and the unjustified attack should, at least, be paused.
Merry Christmas to the city, staff, city manager, council and city employees and all there families. And THANK YOU.
Guess you did'nt get the memo that Vina dn the council plan to raise fees on youth sports to pay fr the hall park- they also plan to raise fees on use of the beaches, parks even the firepit. Then they are considering putting in parking meters.
DeleteI call all this 'fee increases" a tax. Meanwhile Gus gets $225K a year, Muir gets a $170K pension, PR Spin Doctor Medford gets $00K a year, Shaffer gets to talk about herself at colleges, Barth gts to cut ribbons, Gaspar gets to feel important and 'Phony TOny" gets to have special parties with Papa DOug Manchester and tthe anti-prop A developers..................see how it works.
All politicians lie. Vina is simply do what an un-elected politician does, lie.
DeleteBang your pots.
Drive him out.
Drive them all out.
Authored by Vina.
DeleteWhatever you say Gus or Marla.
ReplyDeleteGus basher.... You're boring and predictable. You offer no positive solutions. Get a life!
DeleteI'm quite sure Gus doesn't reply to comments by haters on this blog. Doubt he even reads it.
8:41 has got a life, just as you do, 8:55. The previous display was beautiful. Those who put it together, as with past displays, knew it would be temporary. Too bad it wasn't put up on Friday, especially if City Hall was closed then. So the timing was a little off, but I'm grateful WC memorialized it, here!
DeleteTo me, something can be spiritual without being religious. Why is celebrating new life, in a manger, or anywhere else automatically religious? But we do know that the Babe in the manger has spiritual overtones.
My thoughts on a previous comment: the display is no more a hazard as claimed, before, probably by Jerome Stocks, than the Surfing Madonna was, or is, where it is now located.
To Stocks and co. anything "unauthorized" is unpermitted, and is therefore illegal "graffiti." One bureaucratic bully's graffiti is another's fine display of street art.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all. We've all got lives; may they be full of love, peace and happiness for his season of hope, and goodwill to all.
Nice response Lynn. I agree completely. It was a beautiful site to be seen. What is strange to me is that the P@R Dept. posted it on their website. Who actually removes all of the Kooks many dress ups? Is it Parks and Rec. or perhaps Public Works? It was taken down about 1PM the day before Christmas. Happy Holidays to all. I will be out of town in Yosemite next week, so you all have a wonderful New Year. See you on the streets.
DeleteHow come no one's angry about the Grinch removed?
ReplyDeleteBecause he writes on this blog as Fred....

ReplyDeletevina is a terrible city manager. zero leadership from this group.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Council needs to fire Vina Quickly and focus on reducing staff costs. This city's deadwood is out of control.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone that is interested tonight on CNN at 7pm and midnight they are broadcasting Morgan Spurlocks coverage of the demise of Stockton. Some of the parallels are sadly only too recognizable but Sac Sac is not mentioned by name. Enjoy or not, some of the shenanigans are not far from what he has brought here. Legacy?
DeleteCity government out of control - lining their pockets at the taxpayers' expense.
