The speed bumps create driver confusion and inconsistent driving. Residents take the humps at speed whereas people new to the area slow down. The result is that it is much more difficult and dangerous to enter the 101 from the west. Streetscape sucks for those west of the 101. Also, it is clear that traffic circles do not work in Encinitas. Stupid people clog the circles.. 101 is going to be gridlocked. You just wanted to go to Berry Brothers for gas? Over 45k vehicles plus hundreds of bike and pedestrians travel through the roundabout in Encinitas daily and they perform much better than the signals. Additionally the roundabouts on PCH is Carlsbad and the ones in Birdrock work equally great. The problem causing all the backups are at the crappy signalized intersections especially Leucadia Blvd and the ones at Leucadia Bvld and I5.
Replace those intersections with roundabouts and the roads will flow smoothly.
