Regarding City Hall’s push for a 13% increase in City sales tax, I think this one will go down as a big hard no. My guess is 58% against.
The city has a long track record of wasteful spending and ignoring known required program maintenance, and spend spend spend on pet projects that cost a shit load to operate and maintain in perpetuity.
Instead of hiring a ton of new staff, the city manager should’ve been showing future projections like other responsible cities do (long-term financial plans which includes quarterly forecast updates ) and recommending elimination of some unnecessary positions to keep a balance budget in the future while maintaining our existing infrastructure. City council and city manager are extremely derelict of duty.
AuntHill is a horrible city manager, so I would expect nothing like that from her. Her mantra is spend spend spend, let’s hire a ton more unnecessary staff and ask for more money from the taxpayers.
After all the wasteful putting the cart before the horse spending on so many occasions over the years, what comes to my mind is an action that was mentioned a decade ago about a forensic accounting of our city's spending. Haven't heard a word about that accounting of our tax dollars, and it is little wonder.
FTE's? In this climate? Welcome to a Mudville of our own making. Our future is just as muddied and yet, they keep adding more FTE's? I guess they think our tax dollars grow on trees and are ripe for the picking.

Oh, that evening started off so enchanting, You cooked me your favorite dinner of corndogs with french fries and mayonnaise , Then we went to the bedroom for our starlight session …. You had suggested that we heighten the experience by our favorite sex toy, Thunderdome…. Oh, I was giving you the time of your life until I think the corndogs were disturbing your little tummy and you hiccuped and wheezed “Whoopsie”….. From my viewpoint, all I experienced was a quick vacuum sucking sound, and our amazing Thunderdome was stripped from my finger tips…
The rest of the evening was not fun for me…. Some people say, looking for things like that, is like looking for a needle and a haystack…. I’d say it was more like looking for a dildo in 1 million acre storm fill feeding lot. We’ll, Sweetness, let’s look at the bright side, at least I was able to remove some of those strange growths from your pleasure canal…

But let’s not think about that on this glorious Saturday. Let’s think about something even more special for our Saturday night romp at our favorite rendezvous. Again, darling I am so sorry that I was never able to recover Thunderdome . She will be missed.
