An e-bike company that has had racks of rentable bikes in Encinitas since early 2022 is pulling out of the city this month, saying usage rates haven’t been as good as hoped.
“We just weren’t getting the wheel spinning at the level that we needed” to make the program cost-effective, BCycle Executive Director Brian Conger said Wednesday.
City officials said they’re sorry to see the company depart, but said they understood the challenges BCycle faced.

Beacons Beach access will remain closed today because the Phat Phuckwad directed the City Manager to keep it closed through Memorial Day.
The City of Encinitas has directed the contractors to move very slowly and work intermittently to make sure it stays closed through May.
If you notice and Mayor holding hands with her lover, during sunset on the trail, that is a special moment and real reason why the trail is closed.
There have also been sightings during Moonlight evenings during the Saturday night romp on the trail.
So please provide your support for our Mayor, she needs the trail closed through May to continue to build her relationship with Starvin.
We will also be keeping the B-cycle bike racks up taking valuable space for as long as we can. We could care less about local residents wants, We only think about developer and other out-of-town profits.

To support downtown business endeavors, we need a more vibrant residential community there. That means more developments like Pacific Station up and down Coast Highway. With proximity to the bus and train stations, we should be redeveloping all of our urban cores to be walkable & livable neighborhoods (meaning, all services within walking distance).
