    1. OK, Teresa. You and your posse need to know your sour grapes posts on Barth's Engage/Engaged Encinitas and IG are not gaining traction.

What will the average voter notice in contrast? Fewer dangerous road "improvements," fewer trophy projects, staff being called *gasp* to the carpet to finally do their jobs after years of Blakespear and Kranz looking the other way. Voters will notice that the new council, excepting Joy, are not on a first name basis with developers. And how your buddy Grover has to use the front door and won't skate on unpermitted shenanigans. His latest trick btw is charging $15 valet parking to move cars onto public streets. This is illegal, he can charge only if on his property. So yah keep it up with your petty snipes and see how far you get. You're just digging your own hole so here's hoping you do soldier on.

    2. Old news, nobody but you reads those posts....

    3. Last couple of days, dude. But you know that. Down playing Beauchamp’s nonsense is something else that won’t work.

    4. Which one are we talking, the post above says Barth. I don't read all these sites, most people don't, only you have that obsession.

The rest of us try and enjoy the great weather.

    7. This council holds staff accountable by firing no one and promoting staff to City Manager.

This council stops developers by shooting construction workers—I mean voting unanimously to approve the largest high density project in city history.

It’s like this council ran on publishing the Epstein files only to say “nothing to see here” once they get into power.

      Delete
    8. Teresa Beauchamp and your fake news shooting claims. If Luke did not approve the Blakespear legally committed projects, we'd be sued. Then you could claim you were right that he's bringing lawsuits down around our heads. Blakespear btw already took care of that with her traffic "improvements." How disappointing for you that he's not acting according to your plan and now your desperation shows.

    9. According to the clownfolk, when Catherine and Tony followed the law they were destroying Encinitas and should be hanged for treason. When LukeJim and the boys follow the same laws with the same outcome, only with more threats to shoot people, they're heroes. Bruce and the three stooges will forever own the legacy of approving the largest apartment complex in Encinitas history .... because their hands were tied.

      Delete
    10. Nope. Your narrative is twisted and you know it. The guys promised to fight for local control, not to say No to already approved high density. But you know that.

      Delete
    11. 156. So, you are correct tje averaye person will blame the current council. But a good marketing blitz can demonstrate a connection to: equitywashing, overdevlopment, greedy developers, Baldwin Joy, and the lady on the hill who loves overgrown canyons during LA fires.

      Delete
    12. But can you make the kind of claim he was making about fighting high density? Not really. At not having it hold up. It was campaign rhetoric. The reality is different. Don't expect any major projects to get turned down now....

    3. EN is just an echo chamber of the same small circle hiding behind fake names and pages to spread misinformation. We all know who Omed is, but you’ve also got Brian Stone aka Donald Smok - running both Encinitas Voices and Enraged Encinitas.

Of course, once the Chatfields realized he was one of them, they broke their own rules. (Brian had previously complained that EN wouldn’t let him participate because his account was obviously fake.) But then they let him right in. Now you’ve got Brian and Jeremy practically jerking each other in the EN comments. Barf.

Though allegedly “happily” married, in addition to his bromance with Jer, Brian seems obsessed with private female citizens in our community. Someone might want to let him know that didn’t work out so well for the last guy…🎄

    4. No, we don’t know it. Do you know why? Because development was never approved for L7. Blake and Kranz pulled it off the map. There never were any units on that property that need to move elsewhere. Fox point Farms on the other hand is pushing hundreds of units god knows where.

      Facts matter, right Marlon?

    1. In the year 2025 Builder’s remedy has been supercharged by democrat bottom feeders that are owned by the BIA and willingly signed into law by greasy Gavin Newsome.

The Builder's Remedy in California is part of the Housing Accountability Act (HAA). It was originally added to the HAA in 1990, although its use has become more prominent recently due to the increased focus on housing shortages and the lack of compliance with state housing element law by some cities who can’t keep up with the State’s fabricated RHNA numbers.

The recent “reforms” to the Builder's Remedy, including AB 1893, were passed by a democrat majority and signed into law by Governor Newsom, also a democrat, in September 2024, taking effect in January 2025.

The Builder's Remedy allows developers to bypass local zoning regulations if a city's housing element is not in compliance with state law.

AB 1893, authored by Assembly member Wicks (D), significantly modified the Builder's Remedy provisions of the HAA providing new incentives for developers while pretending to address the concerns of citizens and towns across the state that don’t want to see their neighborhoods urbanized.

The law streamlined the process for developers who want to build projects in cities that are not meeting absurd housing numbers while also imposing some new requirements on those project which are often density minimums not maximums. AKA making even bigger profits for developers.

If it were all above board they'd be annoying us with all their accomplishments. But they can't do that for some mysterious reason.

      I wonder why.

    5. Lack of honesty? They don’t owe you anything, but those ladies have been speaking up for years. Not their fault if you weren’t paying attention. Also not their fault they appear to be fairly humble.

And what they’ve been speaking about, clearly resonated with the residents and how their candidates got elected. These wins are Encinitans accomplishments.

    2. Did their elected official threaten to sue, as Bass did? She got something right anyway.

He will not listen to the pesky voters, but when it gets escalated and very visible at this level of government, he suddenly “gets it.”

That’s the thing, you see it as “influence” or “control” because for years you were used to Blakespear calling the shots. Pre-determined votes. Ignoring residents who showed up, spoke out, and got totally dismissed.

I get it. It’s jarring to watch a council actually listen to the people. Shocking, right? What is this strange new “influence”? Oh yeah…..representative government.

You’ve been heard, too. How else do you brag about your “three-peat” in your totally “unbiased” (lol) newsletters? 🤔

And pulling consent items? That’s welcomed accountability.
    Rubber-stamping is over.
    Discussion is back.

What’s really laughable is the idea that any of the women you’re pointing fingers at are controlling the council. If they had that kind of power, Tony’s nonsense wouldn’t have even made it to the agenda and a lot of other stuff would’ve gone differently too.

What we’re seeing now is balance. Real representation. Every resident deserves a voice , not just the ones you agree with or fund your preferred political party.

Not sure if you’re more DARVO or oxymoron but either way, it’s ugly and getting real old.

  45. In actuality, the Brown act does not do much more than suggest no backroom collusion is allowed.

When has that ever been true? Blatant disregard is the norm.

I would like to believe we now have a chance for some respect for the public that we have not had in the past.

Our new majority was left with a lot of stuff to deal with.

Avoiding being sued for the past majority's leftover sell-out project approvals is wise. Thank you Bruce.

Many wish that more that could be done about the past majority's approved projects.

If there is an out, I would support it. Anyone know of a way?

  49. Brown Act is meaningless, and people that mention it are dumb.

The intent of the law is good, but the way it’s written renders it ineffective and worthless. You might as well waste your time screaming about jaywalking or idling laws.

The number of prosecutions or convictions under the Brown Act in CA history is precisely zero.

If a violation occurs, any government body has an unlimited number of automatic free do overs where they just revote on the agenda item.

    They can unring the bell.

Anyone who talks about the Brown Act is wasting their breath.

    1. You mean, you don’t feel comfortable when your elected are caught, so you think people who feel it is an important concept even if amounts to no prosecution are or “dumb.” I do believe it has something of a chilling effect on those who want to really be blatant about their conniving. Kranz felt uncomfortable enough to admit it with the city attorney’s agreement. So slap on the wrist or nothing, it does serve some purpose, even if theoretical You never know when it’s going to get applied nice and heavy.
