The incident occurred at about 10:37 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the Brixton clothing store, 670 S. Coast Highway 101, Suite 120. Deputies said a man threw a rock through a side window of the business, then reached inside and stole merchandise before leaving the area.
A video of the incident was subsequently shared with the public in hopes that someone would recognize the suspect.
Thank you EU admin! ❤️
ReplyDeleteYou provide a valuable service for real time news here in Encinitas🙏
This is great news. They got close down all those magnets, especially the big one that’s attracting these loser.
ReplyDeletehere’s the biggest issue on the next council meeting agenda,
The biggest destruction in the City of Encinitas is Jennifer Campbell hiring empires of useless employees that do close to no valuable work all day resulting in improvement for city, safety or infrastructure, or quality of life for residence and visitors.
They meet with themselves, talk a lot of nonsense , and send a bunch of bullshit emails.
All while, the infrastructure continues to rot with no maintenance until emergencies ensue.
If the city had a real city manager, we would not be having this problem because the city receives the most revenue per county tax dollar compared to most other cities from the excellent agreement when incorporated. Please see the below listing- Encinitas being the fourth highest in the county per capita.
Summary List (Highest to Lowest)
Del Mar: $13,300/capita (2437% county avg); 10.7% pool/capita
Coronado: $9,070/capita (1661%); 7.3%
Solana Beach: $6,920/capita (1267%); 5.6%
Encinitas: $4,892/capita (896%); 3.9%
Carlsbad: $5,452/capita (999%); 4.4%
Poway: $3,737/capita (684%); 3.0%
San Diego: $3,182/capita (583%); 2.6%
Oceanside: $2,523/capita (462%); 2.0%
San Marcos: $2,423/capita (444%); 2.0%
La Mesa: $2,189/capita (401%); 1.8%
Vista: $2,133/capita (391%); 1.7%
Santee: $1,958/capita (359%); 1.6%
Escondido: $1,915/capita (351%); 1.5%
Chula Vista: $1,875/capita (343%); 1.5%
Imperial Beach: $1,677/capita (307%); 1.3%
El Cajon: $1,430/capita (262%); 1.2%
Lemon Grove: $1,518/capita (278%); 1.2%
National City: $1,310/capita (240%); 1.1%
*Estimated values scaled proportionally. Coastal/low-density cities lead due to high-value propertie
The problem is pure incompetency and a bloated staff.
Get a real city manager:
1. Keep us safe
2. Fix our roads

Heart -bombs away…. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
ReplyDeleteEhlers may know a bit about the zoning code, but he sure is clueless when it comes to leading a City and picking a competent management team. Wow. This last action highlights his ignorance:
FISCAL CONSIDERATIONS:
There is no fiscal impact for FY26 as current budget will assume the increases. Future years’
compensation will be included in the City Manager department’s annual budget.
No fiscal impact. Yeah Right!
The City Manager is directly appointed by the City Council and serves exclusively at the pleasure
of City Council. The City Council appointed Jennifer Campbell as City Manager and approved an
Employment Agreement effective, March 5, 2025 at a base annual salary of $309,000 with an
additional increase effective July 1, 2025 bringing the base annual salary to a total of $318,270.
The terms and conditions of the Employment Agreement (“Agreement”) are subject to the City
Council’s discretion along with annual performance evaluations.
An annual performance evaluation was conducted by City Council on March 11, 2026, resulting
in a favorable performance review and recommendations for modifications to the Employment
Agreement including a merit increase to the annual base salary to remain competitive at an
equivalent level as compared to local San Diego County Cities. The proposed increase is in line
and consistent with the City’s compensation policy.
The proposed Amendment No.1 to the City Manager’s Employment Agreement includes the
following modifications, effective March 5, 2026:
• Section 3.A. Compensation. The City will pay Employee an increase of 2.75% ($8,752) to
the annual base salary of $318,270 for a new annual base salary of $327,022.
• Section 3.E. Compensation. City will pay Employee an annual amount of $7,000 into the
City’s 457 Deferred Compensation Plan for the benefit of the employee payable in
installments at the same time that City employees are paid.
• Section 6.0. Car Allowance. City will pay Employee an increase of $500 to the annual car
allowance for a new total amount of $6,500. This compensates the Employee for the use
of Employee’s personal vehicle while conducting City business payable in installments at
the same time that City employees are paid.
• Section 10.A. Severance. City will modify the severance from (9) months to (12) months
subject to the terms stated in 10.A.

Blakespear's Gal, AZ Jenny has been empire building for years and its no wonder Encinitas is broke.

Encinitas and specifically this City Council needs a 200 gallon enema.
So sad for Encinitas.
💯
DeleteTo the person posting the same shit constantly: please take a break. I don't read anything you post and I don't think I'm alone. Too repetitive. Mix it up a bit please.
ReplyDeleteTake your own advice plus, you never post anything interesting. Just repetitive garbage.
Delete11:59am At last a voice of reason. This poster is unable to realize what a waste of space he is.
ReplyDeleteThere is an appropriate medical terminology for his condition.
The Dunning/Kruger syndrome fits him to a "t".
How do you know the poster is a "He"? Sounds like a female to me. For example the constant use of the word "weirdo", which is normally used by females. Prove me wrong.
Delete💯 Thank you!
DeleteSo sick of these ridiculous incorrect assumptions.
Please Encinitas. We will eventually get an open good City Hall. We just have some cleaning out of Blakespear's team left. We know the current mayor is under her heartbombed spell which is costing the tax payers hundreds of millions.
Get to work and pay your taxes Please. Ms. Jenny needs her big fat severance and retirement package. 😘
10:11 and 10:14, quit repeating the posts please. You're reaching a new level. Go read the road report to find which streets are on tap for paving, it's not a mystery. Quit making problems that don't exist....
ReplyDeleteThat’s a lie

50 streets is chump change, do better.

2:03pm yea! Reality is a foreign concept to that incessant repetitive poster who has a divisive agenda of his own.
ReplyDeleteYou’re nothing comment doesn’t matter

ReplyDelete'Your' not you're, is the correct usage.
My spellcheck check knows this every time.
Why don't you? You are consistent in your ignorance.
Siri and I do not care about your freakshow spellcheck comments. Weirdo.

ReplyDeleteBruce needs to do better for Encinitas. He is really screwing us tax payers.
ReplyDeleteJenny is not capable and needs to go.
Truth
Good morning Encinitas!
ReplyDeleteThe reality is Encintas has a highly dysfunctional city hall.
As shown, Bruce knows a bit about zoning codes and wasn’t as completely whacked- freak show liberal as Kranz he does support attracting fentanyl drug addicts to Encinitas through it’s CRC magnet program and building a huge staff empire that sucks all of the resident’s taxes instead of maintaining it safety and infrastructure.
Putting Jenny’s contract at the end of the council meeting is yet just another example how they try to bury important City business instead of doing it out in daylight. Everyone knows no one’s going to be around to discuss the item that late at night.
The taxpayers are getting screwed in Encinitas. As an example who is ever heard of a city not planning a five year Capital Improvement Program?
Only Encinitas.
Cities that have their act together complete annual long-term financial plans. Again, not Encinitas.
Probably someday to say you will wake up. But right now it’s being run by Blakespear insiders.🤮
You better go to work because with this huge wasted City Hall, you know your taxes are gonna be going up around here. The infrastructure is failing and there’s hardly any sheriffs on the road enforcing any kind of traffic citations.
Probably someday Encinitas will wake up. But right now it’s being run by Blakespear insiders.🤮
ReplyDelete*** City of Encinitas Real Time News***
ReplyDeleteDel Mar does not like Tony's fence and said no. Encinitas continues to pay the price for the ridiculous Tony's fence that cuts off historical access to the coast for not good reason.
Another fence is causing trouble in Del Mar, where residents went to court a few years ago to stop the installation of a safety fence along the railroad tracks on the seaside bluffs.
This time, surfers and sunset lovers are fighting to prevent a temporary fence that a contractor wants to add at a construction site that’s part of the ongoing railroad bluff stabilization efforts.
The new barrier is needed at 11th Street, where work is about to begin on additional drainage improvements. The project is part of the most recent phase of stabilization work that began in February 2024 to safeguard the tracks atop an eroding coastal cliff.
People use a long-established “goat trail” worn into the sandy bluff to get to the beach below 11th Street, a popular surfing spot. The trail crosses the tracks illegally, which generations of Del Mar residents have considered their right.
“Please do not approve the temporary fencing for safety reasons along the Del Mar bluff,” said 40-year resident Isla Cordelae at a Del Mar City Council meeting last week, where the San Diego Association of Governments presented an update on the bluff stabilization.
“This street has served as vital emergency access to lifeguards, paramedics, fire department and immigration officials for both sea and land operations,” Cordelae said.
She and other speakers said the temporary fence could last for years or become permanent, as SANDAG, the city and other agencies work with the community to create new, legal access across the railroad tracks to the beach.
“The train that runs along Del Mar’s scenic natural bluffs and the surfers, beachgoers and sunset lovers who enjoy them daily have peacefully coexisted for nearly 100 years now,” Jenny Beyler said in an email to the City Council.
“The past year or more of ‘bluff stabilization’ has been difficult to take,” Beyler said, but she’s taken comfort that it will end soon. A short, partial chain-link fence was erected for previous work at 11th Street, but so far pedestrians have been able to get around it.
“But now they want to take that away … by blocking access completely,” she said. “All I am asking is to keep at least the small entry in the fencing for surfers to get to the cliff path …”
A residents group called Friends of Del Mar Bluffs filed suit in 2022 to stop construction of a 6-foot-tall, wire-mesh fence along the railroad tracks in Del Mar, a public safety project proposed by North County Transit District that the city had been fighting for years.
The fence would take away “the public’s right to continue to access and use portions of the Del Mar bluffs in NCTD’s right-of-way for sitting, walking, running, meditating, observing the Pacific Ocean and other public uses,” the lawsuit stated.
Del Mar is right. Encinitas residents are right. Tony's fence sucks and needs to go.
Without Tony's fence, Encinitas wouldn't need to spend tens of millions on at grade crossings because people have been safely crossing in historical paths that area for hundreds of years.
On a higher level, the whole fence issue should not even be an issue because its tied to a completely disfuntional and tax payer debacle.
The I-5 Highway volume of 1,100,000 daily trips is 250x greater than that of the comparative daily Coaster/Amtrak trips/riders of ~4,400 from Oceanside to downtown San Diego.
ReplyDeleteMost of the Coaster/Amtrak trains are close to empty (estimated vacancy rate ~90% which is also bad for the environment/GHG emissions: Learn More)
The I-5 Highway, buses and the blue Line Trolley (which parallels the Coaster much of the way from UTC to downtown San Diego) could easily accommodate the small rider volume of the Coaster/Amtrak.
SANDAG often uses annualized trip numbers without any context to inflate the importance of the Coaster trip/passenger volume with statements such as “The Coaster carriers 1.6 million trips (or riders or passengers) per year.” 1 million trips is the equivalent of a tiny 4,400 riders per day (4,400 * 365 days= 1.6 million).
Coaster is also the smallest rail line in san diego
The Coaster is also by far the smallest rail line in San Diego, accounting for just 2% of rail commuters in San Diego.
Coaster passengers are also predominantly high income earners which raises disturbing implications of equity and fairness given the extraordinary costs (LEARN MORE).
Coaster ridership is not only small but had been declining rapidly even before the pandemic which has created a long term impact on ridership decline.
The Coaster's riders are predominantly high income riders. Spending $20Bn on these relatively few riders is not only a terrible economic decision but also a deeply unjust one
The $20 Billion Del Mar and San Clemente tunnel projects would be the largest projects in San Diego and Orange County history.
At approximately $5 Million per New Daily Trip/Ride, the tunnels would also be the most expensive transit projects by far in U.S. history.
On a per rider basis, the Del Mar tunnel would be almost 20x more expensive than the recently completed Mid Coast Trolley extension.

Truth and a brighter Encinitas will happen do to the smart citizens of Encinitas waking up and taking control of their highly dysfunctional City Hall.

DeleteWho would that be heat-bombed bombed Bruce or someone else?
My guess is Ms. Arizona Jenny but what do you think?
There are at least 10 FB pages and blogs in this town. Kind of hard to say a light isn't being shone, especially when we're now talking about Jim O'Hara being late to meetings. Pretty granular stuff.
DeleteIf you're so up on NCTD, how come you haven't posted about this?
https://www.kpbs.org/news/local/2026/02/20/north-county-transit-district-beset-by-surging-fare-evasion-faces-dwindling-revenues
SANDAG and North County Transit Disaster (NCTD) are completely disfunctional and need major investigation from the Feds.
ReplyDeleteBoth agency are fraught with massive fraud, illicit government waste, and illicit tax water waste.
SANDAG Chief Executive Mario Orso spoke briefly at the meeting to say the agency is working to find a middle ground that will meet everyone’s requirements for the bluff projects.
Here is a very simple solution for Encinitas.
REMOVE TONY's FENCE!
Its harming people and no one ever wanted it to begin with!

Free the blog, ban the repeater!!!!!
Delete👆🏾City staff deflection begins.
DeleteNone of us are staff, we're people who want to have a discussion on relevant city politics, not debating on whether Amtrak will magically dissapear because you don't like the train horns and clog up the blog with the same 3 topics.
DeleteWhy is Brad so mad? Why is he stalking IG sites? Is this how he will govern? Not sure this cryin dude is ready for primetime. What a weirdo.
DeleteTalk about his actual positions if you have the brains, not just rumour and innuendo. This blog has degenerated into a bunch of morons just talking shit about people.
DeleteRemember when this blog provided the goods on Mosca before he even moved here and backed it up with articles and even youtube links? We need more of that, less of this.
Do you even live in Brad's district?
Quit your whining and produce
DeleteBrad's calling out multiple Brown Act violations made by the newest council members who either didn't understand their ethics training or just didn't give a damn, And he definitely got under Jim's skin...Jim's little temper tantrum during Brad's public comment shows how weak and easily triggered he is. He can't even stop himself from interrupting the Mayor! Ehlers should distance himself from O'Hara.
DeleteBRAD is MAD. And maybe MAD BRAD would like someone to repost the best of 3M plus TBs posts? STFU! NA, that action would BEE childish and most likely fail. Plus, I can't listen to AmandUU anymore. When BRAD gets Mad, ( let him) HE SOUNDS like a fool, already. Do you want a candidate of ACtion or some strange dude following what comments you like on IG?
ReplyDeleteAre you referring to when he spoke about Jim and Marco's interaction with anonymous social media accounts so Jim had a meltdown? Brad is not the mad one.
DeleteThe Julie/Vicki/Christie/Nastalie/Rachel crew are trying to make this "Brad Mad" narrative stick and it's hilarious. He's delivered his comments and messaging calmly and carries himself better than San Antonio, who can't form a coherent thought without rambling, better than Pick-Up-A-Gun Luke who says the dumbest stuff that pops in his head and Jim who can't speak without clicking his pen in meetings, saying "Ahh" and "UM" a million times, and constantly iinterupting everyone around him becasue he is so arrogant.
DeleteBrad didn't have to put much effort into finding the council's social media Brown Act violations. Luke, Jim, and Marco (or maybe Rachel runs their accts) made it really easy because they've been so blatantly obvious about it.
DeleteThey're arrogant idiots, all of them.
DeleteIt's like the council majority attracts fucking idiots, or visa versa.
“And maybe MAD BRAD would like someone to repost the best of 3M plus TBs posts”
DeleteNewsflah: 3m and TB posts are protected by the first amendment. But the council’s social activity actually violates the Brown Act.
Yeah, but no one ever gets nailed on a Brown Act Violation, including Jerome Stocks, king of the Brown Act Violation...
