Two men were stabbed outside an Encinitas bar early Tuesday morning and authorities later arrested two suspects, according to the Sheriff's Department.Come to think of it, it's not that safe out there after 11 either:
About 12:35 a.m., the victims reported that there was an argument in the men's bathroom of the D Street Bar, 485 S. Coast Highway 101, and continued outside the bar into the street, where they were stabbed, said Detective Robert Stevenson.
An unidentified man was killed late Sunday in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Windsor Road and Via Cardiff Drive in Cardiff, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.Well, with police resources diverted to revenuing, we can probably expect increasing crime rates. Be safe out there.
Deputies were sent to investigate a report of a "person down" in the area at about 11:30 p.m. They found a Hispanic male lying at the northeast corner of the intersection. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
That corner bar has quite a history. Over 20 years ago,a guy was stabbed inside, on the dance floor, and people kept dancing all around him, then Dick Cheney came to town, and two of his goons picked a fight with some guy, and it spilled over to The Saloon, (the thugs got off-I know, my husband was almost picked for the jury in this case), and then came The Millenium, which was a money lundering effort for a bunch of wise guys, (it was open for one week).

ReplyDeleteI've lived in 3 different regions in the US and that's pretty much the rule everywhere after dark on the streets and in/around bars. It's unrealistic to expect Encinitas to be completely immune to violent altercations when booze, bars, cars, and tempers are involved. Stay home, stay sober, pick your "crowd" wisely, and it's relatively easy to stay safe without having to live like a monk or a nun.
