There goes Blakespear again introducing the very substandard city workers as "our professional staff." If she repeats it enough maybe she'll believe it.
At about 8:15 Shelia Cameron commented that Dave Barquist and his group were filibustering while close to 100 people were waiting to speak. Great observation!
Politics at play. Shelia Cameron has helped Encinitas greatly throughout the years and we are fortunate to have her as an activist. What does it take to get a council to care about residents vs. their own petty agendas? They don't want citizens to express their upset with elections around the corner. The votes on housing plan are going to sting.
Whoa the David Meyer scandal - talk about a lawsuit ripe for the picking! Who on Council knew what he was up to? Could not see faces watching from home.
There was a 3:30 Closed Session that discussed some kind of deal that seemed to involve the Seacrest Church and site L-7. Could this come back to affect the housing element before the 2nd reading?
Thank the council for that, not residents. We are not to blame for refusing to buy their rotten product.
If they cannot get it right, I will continue to vote no and I really don't care about the legal fees. Lawsuits come from developers so I'm not really feeling the need to indulge them. And yes, I'm a taxpayer
9:34pm and 9:34pm slimy mikey crawl back into your underground lair and stfu.
The whole crowd erupted in cheers for Sheila doing what we had been wanting to do for over two hours. It was glorious.
This interminably long time killing distraction was fomented to try to get the attendees to give up and leave before saying their piece.
All of the main and side rooms were packed to the hilt with people outside in the hallways and spilling outside of the doors. It was glorious.
Most of the thanks for this all time record breaking turnout goes to the L-7 nimby neighbors for awakening every neighborhood throughout the city with all bs that has been going on and how back room and main room influence has been allowed poison this latest dead on arrival plan.
I can't imagine what they could do now to change the course they set long ago. At the end, council seemed to be giving up and just going ahead and sending on a failed plan to HCD.
Heads should be rolling in the Planning Dept. over all the collusion going on.
Harrison and Meyer are overdue for some payback.
Meyer is especially deserving of condemnation and being sued for what he did to the neighbors on Clark St. He set a new low, which for him, is saying something. He should be run out of town on a rail for taking advantage of folks who speak little english, if at all. Better yet than running him out of town on rail would be under a rail.
Just because someone advocates for the all of us, does not mean they have ulterior motives for public office. It does mean she has the heart that you have never had.
Wait, you don't have it! You never have and never will get it. It is beyond your comprehension. You are waste of space.

ReplyDeleteAnd....the scare campaign begins. "The law" didn't cut it last time and it won't this time.
ReplyDeleteBuy a clue, Catherine. Buy a clue.
No consequences!
DeleteEver!
At about 8:15 Shelia Cameron commented that Dave Barquist and his group were filibustering while close to 100 people were waiting to speak. Great observation!
ReplyDeleteOr, you could sit down and be patient and respectfully wait for the presentation to finish.
DeleteYeah, yeah, yeah. Patiently wait? The dude was filibustering.

ReplyDeleteI vote NO Sra Sheila. Mucho talk, blah blah blah..
ReplyDeleteOlivenhain snobs should secede from Encinitas. Those people are elite weirdos.
ReplyDeleteScul-pinhead?

ReplyDeleteIf so, they would have to reintroduce with a first reading.
DeleteTime will tell if the Mayor got this one right. Come see in November.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that this gets shot down, more so than previous. It won't look good for the City.
The question remains, which plan is imposed by a judge, if at all. My guess is that a judge will give the city another shot.
We’ve had enough “another shot”s.
DeleteIn the meantime the city could be forced to pay legal fees for the plaintiffs. Encinitas is out of "get out of jail free" cards.

Wait! I got it!
DeleteSheila should run for City Council!
After the lawsuit prevails, half of staff will be let go. With moratorium on all building permits and plaintiff award fees ($ millions)...
Delete8:40am No slimy mikey, you lowlife cretin.

Shiela and Jerome have both been elected to the position of: It’s Over So Sit Down and Shut Up.
ReplyDelete212pm. You are the one that needs to stfu.
ReplyDeleteAs for Sheila, spelled correctly, see how easy that is, has earned a voice, and we are fortunate to have her advocacy.
You are welcome.
3:43- Ah. Haaa Haaa haaa - You mean crazy eyes?
ReplyDeleteYeah right.
Slimy mikey, we hardly missed you, or rather not at all.
ReplyDeleteYou never fail to stoop to the lowest common denominator which is your stock in trade.
Crazy applies to you more than anyone else. You are one sick ....
