Election results

Encinitas politicians go 1 for 5: Boerner advances to general election, Gaspar distant 5th, Stocks and Muir fail to break single digits but siphon enough votes to keep Graham and Republicans off the general election ballot.

It will take a while to count since so many people vote by mail now, but a lot of the races aren't very close. Jacobs and Levin are neck and neck for 2nd in the Congressional race though. Results here.

  1. I got a bunch of Republican flyers telling me to vote for Warren, running to the left, and not Boerner-H, more moderate. I assumed they thought Warren was too weak and Boerner votes going to her would make it a two Republican race. Or, maybe they thought Warren very strong and wanted to push Boerner out. Instead they got shut out. If Boerner votes had not gone to Warren, Graham might have gotten in. Jungle primary tactics make strange bedfellows.

    1. Francine Busby's plea for Boerner, her secrect redistricting of the Encinitas map to benefit herself, and her huge donations from the BIA helped me to convince others to vote for Warren. Good luck in November Elizabeth Warren!

  2. Gaspar's campaign theme of Trumpy neo-nazi xenophobia really worked out for her. Idiot, had she run the way she did in previous races she may have been a contender.

  3. I don't think Gaspar expected to advance this time. She was preparing to run for the same position in the future, and wanted to become visible in congressional district. Two years from now, or even farther in the future she will hope to benefit from this race. Her political ambitions will remain strong.

    1. She came in second among the Republicans and beat a well recognized candidate. That is what she needed to do for future runs for higher office. She is also positioned for appointment in the Trump administration. This is the first campaign where she did not play dirty. That was part of the plan. I see her campaigning for Harkey and other Republicans. We should not count her out. She will be dangerous in the future.

  6. In yesterday's election, 65 percent of San Diego County voters used mail ballots. Some mailed them in, others dropped them off at polling places or libraries. That's almost 1.1 million ballots.

    1. She will be great for development interests since she has taken huge donations from the BIA and is a friend to all developers. If you want to have someone who preserves quality of life and listens to residents, vote for our own Elizabeth Warren.

    2. Great to see Horvath lose. She is a sell-out.
She could team up with Gaspar - Mutt and Jeff.

  10. Horvath is in a run-off. That is incentive enough to work for Warren - a real candidate and not a developer shill, like squint eyes.

  11. Horvath pushed HARD for 37' height limits. Keith Harrison in her pocket?

  12. More likely Keith has her and the rest of council in his pocket. That is where the money is. He is far from alone and doesn't deserve all the 'credit', or blame, as it may be.

It is a longtime learned behavior by a willing Planning Dept. and has been for decades. With an always pliable council, when has the fix not been in?

    June 20th. Don't miss it.
