This is a party bus town

Idling now at the stop sign at 2nd and I.

Two years ago, the council said they were going to crack down on party buses.

What does Encinitas' sea-level rise subcommittee say about buses idling indefinitely in city streets?

    1. 6:52 run for council if you think you can do better. COMPLAINER!

    2. I'm not complaining, just stating a fact. Tell me where I'm wrong??

    3. 12:33 I'm not saying your wrong, but what have you done to change things, except just blog your objection to everything? Run for office or at the very least support someone who you agree with. You'll soon find out that your group is very small, limited and also like to complain.

    4. And fixing the roads is complaining?? Wanting the road medians is complaining?? Over paid and underworked staff is complaining??
No it sounds as if you are complaining about being told the obvious.
How about fixing the roads!!! Why do going from Enc roads to Carlsbad roads results in less wear and tear on my car??? Maybe because everything in this city is a JOKE. Nice try Kathy, no one believes your lies....except you.

    5. 12:44- you still haven't told me where I'm wrong. I'm waiting..... still waiting.

    6. 10:39 PM and 12:33 AM -You're the pot calling the kettle black with your repetitive posts that sound close to a copy-and-paste job. Take your own advice and run for council as you say the other poster is not wrong

    8. 10:47 Again, I'm not saying you're wrong. What I'm saying is "what are you doing to change things" other then complaining about it on this blog? Can I donate to your campaign or do you have a candidate that's running who I can contribute too. Otherwise, go to my eariler post and let it be known that your just a COMPLAINER with no real solution! BTW, complaining without real action is not a solution. When is the last time you went to a council meeting and spoke about these issues?

    9. Recently. What is your solution - I missed that?

    10. Solution = get involved and elect good candidates.

    11. Assume you're deeply involved, or are you just suggesting solutions for the rest of us to enact?

    12. More advice than solutions. Otherwise keep talking to the wall!

  5. How could there not be a resistance to these carriers idling and polluting for hours at a time. WTF?

Who can be in approval of such behavior?

Apparently there is. What the frack. That is not a question. Such selfish, mindless thinking is the result of a small dinosaur brain.

And, to deny 99% of world wide scientists, is even more of an indication of the remnants of a tiny dinosaur brain. Such thinking has no place in our society.

History will judge these deniers harshly, but thankfully, they will be long gone. Our children will be left to deal with what such thinking has brought down upon future generations.

It is never too late to wake the frack up if you choose to inform yourself.

  6. Encinitas has become a boozer destination spot - this is nothing new. As more booze joints open up, the party hopping buses will only intensify in frequency. The dye is cast now - so much for "small" beach community ambiance.

  7. As noticed, the party bus suppliers have moved on to supposedly less obvious vehicles.

Still they feel compelled to idle for hours. For big wheel truckers this is illegal and has been years. They all supplemental energy systems that don't rely upon a motor running.

The same should apply to the current Sprinter van type of carriers. The law demands this.

A few tickets enforcing the law already on the books would be a one time lesson to be learned.

Idle in Encinitas once parked for, say five minutes, get a ticket.

Big rig truckers already know this.

It wasn't long ago that these big rigs would idle all night because they had no option. That change worked.

Delivery trucks around do Idle while they are dropping off their loads. So be it.

It is a completely different issue with parked carriers idling for hours.

If we all let he city know, they can follow a law already on the books.

  8. This is a corrupt town run by a cabal and their many foot soldiers. Since when did voicing legitimate complaints justify punishment via social justice? Do it in person and some of them will resort to violence or call law enforcement on you. That's intimidation and sounds more like how a cartel or cult would operate. Why bother with a Climate Action Plan when you know you are going to be chopping trees everywhere to make way for 5G towers? And then let party buses idle for hours with no tree canopy to sequester the carbon?

  9. concerning the article linked: "lines at encinitas bars" like what? never seen that other than that hipster trash can shelter

  10. We have been talking about the housing element, downtown bars, and pacific station vacancy for years. Yawn. You could literally go away for two years and come back to the same conversations. I don't know if its politically sad or politically brilliant.

  11. So you were able to take a picture of an idling bus and send it to EU. Did you bother notifying the Sheriff so they could site this vehicle? There's no mention that you did and if you did, did the Sheriff respond? Realizing the call would be considered low priority, did the vehicle remain idling long enough to get caught? I still see the occasional car run a red light and not get caught. Does that mean Encinitas has become a hell-hole?

  12. I went to the website written on the van in the picture.

They don’t advertise and sell tickets to tours of Encinitas bars, which is what was happening two years ago.

This is a charter van company. If you have a wedding, corporate event, or birthday party and don’t want your guests driving after a few drinks, you can charter a van.

Totally different from binge drinking tourism, in my opinion.

  13. Calm down. SDA and LCC had their Winter Formal events on Saturday, and lots of kids take party buses. Nothing to do with boozing at Encinitas bars.

  14. FYI - for those against the downtown bars. get a life, get a friend or get a dog!

    1. FYI - you don't live downtown nor do you have to deal with this at your front door! Bet you'd feel differently then...you know you would.

    2. That's why I didn't move downtown. That's also why I didn't buy next to an airport. NEWSALERT, people are going to fly planes and drink at dinning and drinking establishments. If you don't like it, move to another part of town.

    3. news alert. The City shouldn't and doesn't have to develop like Huntington Beach. It could be more like Del Mar and Solana Beach which are not promoting PB style partytown.

Its more about keeping the quaint surf town vibe and going against more bars and more density.

In my opinion, Encinitas has enough or too many people living in it today. Streets and beaches are jammed.

If you like it like HB or PB so much, move there and we will work to keep Encinitas as low keep as possible.

I agree that the citizens fuck up that last election big time. I predict big changes with both Blakespear and Kranz out in the next election.

I am voting for the slow growth candidate. New developments should happen were there is more water and infrastructure available, not here.

Are there any more idiotic ideas for this city Kathy??
Does it make you feel better to know that green cones would have protected your friend from being rundown??
The only thing more idiotic are the people that elected you, then reelected you.
Please, please someone with a bulldozer scrape those cones from the road, Please.

Kathy you are pathetic, resign and save us 4 more years of misery and idiotic ideas.
