Blakespear censors critics on Facebook in apparent violation of law

From the Inbox:
As usual, Blakespear can't be bothered with "the law" when it doesn't suit her.  Contrast the comprehensive language below, posted to her campaign Facebook page, with this: Court Rules Public Officials Can't Block Critics on Facebook | American Civil Liberties Union (aclu.org)

  1. Last time the ACLU showed up, Blakespear cost the taxpayers $60K on a freedom of speech issues. Sounds like she didn't learn.

  2. Only idiots get their "facts" from other idiots on Facebook. Three things will now happen.
Someone with a clue will post more details on the law proving this claim false (hint campaign page), they will then be accused of being Marco.
This article will be posted back to Facebook multiple times in the same groups it originated from as some sort of validation.
Someone will steer this conversation into Newsome, Covid and Jews.

    1. Sad diversion attempt, back to Blakespear. She thinks she can keep her history here under wraps. She's mistaken. This will only increase posting efforts on her site. She's going to need to bring in reinforcements. Chatfield alone can't keep up. Folks need to document and complain to the FPPC. Give her something else to do.

  3. Pretty straightforward: the 1st Amendment limitation on blocking critics doesn't apply to campaign pages.

    1. Kinda taking the word of the ACLU over Gonzalez's:
      https://www.aclu.org/blog/free-speech/internet-speech/court-rules-public-officials-cant-block-critics-facebook?fbclid=IwAR1Hq_EckdOmYDZQbBTQ93rhP5-QARrrKvq8cNgFOejivnekfQuKozK15_U

Some non attacking comments posting facts (actual documents and videos done by the mayor herself) were removed. She doesn't even stand by her own words and deeds. Gonzalez will defend her now matter how shameful her history and behavior. That commitment comes as no surprise.

    2. Did you even read the article you linked? or the ruling?

There is a noted difference between a campaign page and one maintained "as a tool of governance - that is, when she uses it to inform the public about her government work, solicits input on policy issues through the page, and swathes it 'in the trappings of her office.'"

And FTR, I'm not expressly defending any elected official here, I'm simply clarifying an aspect of law. Consider the following example: two candidates, one an incumbent and another a challenger. Would the challenger be required to allow trolls on his/her campaign facebook page under this ruling?

    3. Dude, you're defending your gal pal and are not fooling anyone. You are certainly protesting too much.

No trolls, just the truth that Blakespear/you can't handle.

  4. 10:17 go peddle your "expert" opinion over on a Verdu site where they actually believe you. It is mud with anyone who's onto you and the mayor.

  5. It's time for another Nathan "Costanza Principle" Fletcher thread.

Do the precise opposite of what this man says and your life will be wildly successful.

The science and data now proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Hey Nathan let's make sure we find out all the aids patients who never used a condom, shall we?

  6. Not really, 8:46. Time to flood Blakespear's campaign page with why she's not fit to run, much less be elected.

  7. Gonzales is heavily invested on BlaKespear's rise to higher office. Of course he monitors all these social media sites, even while he derides them as insignificant and banal. He is trying to deal with "spot fires" of criticism and revelation. He is a cameleon, whose color is green - for the kick-backs and influence he can peddle for himself!

    1. Come on, you can do better than this! How about some critical thinking? How would my concerns for affordable housing be furthered by the election of Mayor Blakespear to the state senate? We already have a Dem super majority in Sacramento and housing votes aren't winning or losing by the thinnest of margins (unlike our federal Senate). Not to mention, I have well known other contacts in Sacramento if I want to try to support or kill legislation. I would very much prefer Mayor Blakespear run for another term as Mayor, but clearly I don't get to make those decisions.

    2. Let's get a couple of things straight. You have proven that your only "concerns for affordable housing" are to do as little as possible. And your boast of "well-known contacts" through whom you can "kill legislation" is straight up egomania. While that may be so - may - who says that? Weird.

    3. I agree. The whole "affordable housing" crap is a complete scam on the public devised by the right and the left. The bleeding hearts like Ms. BIAspear-Gonzalez get to dream that tripling the population of Encinitas with 5 plus story ghetto apartments will make a dent in rents in Encinitas when in reality the only thing that will lower rents is rent substitutes like section 8, or the quality of life drops so much that people chose to live somewhere else and rents drop. The problem with this is over-development in a desert and rent substities create lower quality of life and rob people of their liberty.

The right loves it because all the developers are pure capitalists and they make their money on selling out existing area's quality of life and do ANYTHING to increase their profit. Lie, cheat, steal, pay off politicians, destroy former family beach towns, ruin peoples lives and crush liberty. No problem if it means more profits.

So there you have it. Now you know why Marco chooses to live his life promoting the "affordable housing" theory. He is a mix between bleeding heart liberal guzzling all the BS from Sacramento and a pure capitalist supporting developers who gave up their soul for profit. It's that simple. Marco wrote off Encinitas long ago and now they get to circle jerk each other daily with their crazy false soundbites.

    4. Blakespear and Gonzales are a self-centered pair of cons.

    5. 2:05 - do you not know who my primary Sacramento contact would be? It's pretty obvious (hence the sarcasm, dummy).

7:17 - not a mix of anything; I'm pure bleeding heart liberal, and proud of it. And while you might not appreciate the "paltry" 15-20% affordable units in the projects coming forward right now, the fact is they are significantly increasing our affordable housing inventory. They may not be the final solution, but they'll be a meaningful part of it.

    6. "Significant?" You are the only one in the room who does not get that joke.

We know your sister. Her trend on the graph is a constant downward toward asymptote, a place you reached years ago.

    7. Wait a minute, Gonzo's primary Sacramento contact isn't Ron Jeremy? What the hell?

    9. 3:34 If my "trend on the graph" hit bottom years ago, why are you still talking about me?

    10. Why are you still here? Do you enjoy being the turd in the punch bowl?

  8. It's not only the money. It's the Gonzalez/Blakespear closeness that raises suspicions with many public observers.
