You may actually like the new EV when it gets rolling around the end of January. Working on cutting down on the # of members, and we are going private, so FB, instead of the moderators, they do cannot just allow anyone on. That has been their strategy for about a year now with open groups. Private groups get to decide who is a member. EV is going back to its original purpose, which was to discuss all things political in Encinitas, offer suggestions to the Council, speak at CC meetings, etc. EV started with 50 people and is now at 1800 people. There is no way a group that large can do what the original purpose of EV was about. I’m not the person you are responding to, but in my case, I reached out to Glen after Lorri started behaving erratically toward me. I asked him if I was doing anything wrong or against the rules of the group. Glen confirmed in writing that I was all good. Within a day or two I was mysteriously removed after not interacting in any way with EV for several days.
4:19 I don't know how long ago that was, but an FYI. Glen was a Blakespear and Kranz supporter. Best I can figure, Lorri wasn't. Glen's wife just died and has been ill for a while. You can try to make it about Mali, she is the favorite punching bag apparently. She has very little to do with the election outcome beyond being an easy online target though. The point is that every single candidate, apart from Ehlers, supported here and on EV lost. The same thing happened the election before that. You guys are picking people that don't resonate with the majority of voters, for whatever reason. And everyone that I'm aware of that were pressuring/harrassing Wyer into burying his podcast was most certainly "older". Everyone in the podcast criticized, I believe, the "challengers" behavior online. Both of the losing candidates were prolific negative posters, and shouldn't expect immunity for immature and threatening behavior online. It's not like the challengers and their surrogates were restrained in their criticism of their opposition in any way, and slanted information is constantly being published in the Coast News (how is that for protecting democracy during an election?). The candidates just fucked up and made so many dumb comments online, before and during the election, that they had no legs to stand on when going after their opponents. And did you pay attention to Blakespear's page comments? I remember her being called a bitch there by prominent community members, just because they thought they could get away with it. The attitude and views of the opposition are a turnoff to most voters, and they've done that all by themselves. With the help of their equally negative, entitled, overly aggressive surrogates. If I were them, I'd reevaluate their treatment of people that disagree with them, but it seems like too much of a well established approach.
Mali, Marco, Garvin were all presented as “experts” and given a platform from which to opine. Voters who did not do their own homework would have been led to believe that the paper endorsed the opinions of these so-called “experts” and common sense tells us that that having these mouthpieces stumping for the. would help the incumbents. It did not matter in the end, but editing out the slams was the right thing to do.

Even when the subject was not the election, and listeners would have already need to be acquainted with local politics to see where the views of two of the guests align with the current majority. On the other side, we have EV dictating the content of CN, with each validating the other, all the time. We also see the constant shit talking, threats, insults, etc. online, on their oppositions facebook pages, on public and private groups, etc. Personally, I found it refreshing to hear something other than that for once. Whining and fear mongering about each possible development, bike lanes, and boo-hooing teacher's unions, etc. constantly gets old.
Funnier is the ones who lost their shit the hardest were the three "experts" over the proposed delay. They knew exactly what they were trying to accomplish on that podcast and had no interest in having their voices heard after the election. Walsh in particular was said to be very persistent texting nonstop to push for a pre-election release. Yes, we hear shit talking all around us but not from what appeared to be Coast News endorsed "experts." Come on, now. Haha.
Yeah, because Steve was obviously being intimidated into holding off (or never publishing it). Personally, I want to know when prominent community members are using their position to control what voters do and don't see. I wasn't saying that the Coast News publishes shit talking and says it's from experts. I'm saying they, in apparent coordination with EV, have access to a much larger audience, and are slanted in the opposite direction of the people on the podcast. And that seems to be just fine with them. But one little peep of a different point of view anywhere, and they suppress it. A bit hypocritical, no? Especially when its being done in the name of democracy and fairness during an election-lol. And I would say that Coast News and EV gives legitimacy to some of the star online shit talkers, by quoting them on other subjects and presenting them as authorities. I'm thinking Morris, Thunder, Slater Price, Walsh, etc. etc. here.
I lost all respect for Weyer when he used Morris’s own website to trash him. Steve made it very obvious that he was on Kranz’s side. Weyer also deleted mine and many other peoples comments. Then to promote Mali, Marco, and Walsh? Wth? This bias unethical behavior, especially coming from a Journalist who should be encouraging different opinions and free speech is disappointing at best. This in the context of a person who admitted on her own blog that she freaked out when her doctor refused to keep prescribing her Vicodin after 15 years. I’ve never met her in person. Never had a private conversation of any sort. But I do have personal experience with her blatantly lying about me in public.
I don’t pretend to know the truth of what did or didn’t happen at a party many years ago, but I do know that I would never take this unstable, unreliable person’s word for it.

You may actually like the new EV when it gets rolling around the end of January. Working on cutting down on the # of members, and we are going private, so FB, instead of the moderators, they do cannot just allow anyone on. That has been their strategy for about a year now with open groups. Private groups get to decide who is a member. EV is going back to its original purpose, which was to discuss all things political in Encinitas, offer suggestions to the Council, speak at CC meetings, etc. EV started with 50 people and is now at 1800 people. There is no way a group that large can do what the original purpose of EV was about. I’m not the person you are responding to, but in my case, I reached out to Glen after Lorri started behaving erratically toward me. I asked him if I was doing anything wrong or against the rules of the group. Glen confirmed in writing that I was all good. Within a day or two I was mysteriously removed after not interacting in any way with EV for several days.
I still have Glen’s email. He’s a good guy.
Lorri, on the other hand, is a psycho nut-bird.
4:19 I don't know how long ago that was, but an FYI. Glen was a Blakespear and Kranz supporter. Best I can figure, Lorri wasn't. Glen's wife just died and has been ill for a while. He and I used have beers once a week with a couple of other guys. Been doing in for years. Lorri would sometimes join us and I found her delightful. So I guess it depends on whether you actually have met her, know her, or really know anything about her. Many in this community have come to hear pet loss support groups, that she does at no charge, and she has an international best seller book on the Human/Animal Bond. ReplyDeleteIt’s because Steve was gunning for Tony Kranz . This is really poor Journalism. The code of ethics has always been that Journalism was supposed to be unbias. But Steve Wyer is another one that just showed up in our town like Garvin and Mali. Someone mentioned earlier how he switches sides depending on who he’s talking too. I’ve seen this first hand.
Just like Mali and Garvin, Steve has his hands involved with the school boards. I first became aware of this when watching the pod Steve made with Mali, Marco, and Garvin. What an odd combination right? It got weirder when Steve asked when the problems in the School district started. Garvin said when Mike Allman came on board. Mali coyly said I have to agree with you Garvin. Meanwhile Garvin was pretending to to help Michael Allman keep Mali’s CRT and transgender programs out of our school when he and Mali & Marco are actually deviously working with one another. Wth? Who’s paying these operatives to come to our City and mess with us?
Cindy paid them….it’s all Cindy’s fault. Oh and Cindy’s crazies! If Cindy hadn’t paid them to come here I wouldn’t have tied her in the election.

Add to that Joy Lyndes, and before that Joe Mosca. While we’re at it, we might as well add Marlon Taylor to the list too. He was immediately put on E4E board, after being brought here by Blakespear/Kranz. Then the Equity board, was created for him and Mali. Subsequent to that, they made sure he got on the EUSD school board.
We should stop letting outsiders muck things up. We need to be more discerning and pick people who’ve proved themselves, standing the test of time.

So how did Wyer find those three? Someone must have suggested them, as if he were that much of a newcomer how would he know who to ask? I do know there was quite a bit of controversy at the Coast News about it. My understanding is he almost lost his job over it until some locals talked with Kydd and Ingram. It got pretty tense.

And on top of that Mali trashed other candidates by name. The woman has no impulse control, just like her “mentor” Catherine Blakespear. The only difference is Woods Drake does not have even a hint of polish. Shrill and crass. Now imagine two more years of listening to her bullshit in that screeching voice.

DeleteEveryone in the podcast criticized, I believe, the "challengers" behavior online. Both of the losing candidates were prolific negative posters, and shouldn't expect immunity for immature and threatening behavior online. It's not like the challengers and their surrogates were restrained in their criticism of their opposition in any way, and slanted information is constantly being published in the Coast News (how is that for protecting democracy during an election?). The candidates just fucked up and made so many dumb comments online, before and during the election, that they had no legs to stand on when going after their opponents. And did you pay attention to Blakespear's page comments? I remember her being called a bitch there by prominent community members, just because they thought they could get away with it. The attitude and views of the opposition are a turnoff to most voters, and they've done that all by themselves. With the help of their equally negative, entitled, overly aggressive surrogates. If I were them, I'd reevaluate their treatment of people that disagree with them, but it seems like too much of a well established approach.

Voters who did not do their own homework would have been led to believe that the paper endorsed the opinions of these so-called “experts” and common sense tells us that that having these mouthpieces stumping for the. would help the incumbents. Even when the subject was not the election, and listeners would have already need to be acquainted with local politics to see where the views of two of the guests align with the current majority. On the other side, we have EV dictating the content of CN, with each validating the other, all the time. We also see the constant shit talking, threats, insults, etc. online, on their oppositions facebook pages, on public and private groups, etc. Personally, I found it refreshing to hear something other than that for once. Whining and fear mongering about each possible development, bike lanes, and boo-hooing teacher's unions, etc. constantly gets old.
