Bruce and the stooges have controlled the city for 2 years.
Why weren't these bike lanes removed on day one? Why did the constant complaining stop after the last election? Because it's the same answer to both questions.
For the same reason they couldn't shut up about speaking time getting cut. Bruce cuts speaking time to 2 minutes every single meeting and not a peep from the people who complained about it every day for years.
For the same reason they couldn't shut up about being blocked on socials by elected. Bruce's gang block people left and right and not a peep from the people who complained and SUED over it.
For the same reason they couldn't shut up about 4pm meetings "while people were at work". Bruce has had more day time and special meetings in his first 2 years than the last 2 mayors combined. Not a peep from the people who complained about it for years.
For the same reason they couldn't shut up about approving developments. Bruce and his majority have approved EVERY SINGLE DEVELOPMENT including the largest in Encinitas history. Not a peep from the people who complained about it for years.
The list goes on and on and on. Do you see the pattern?
Agreed. What is in place right now is not a bike Lane. It’s a bike trap.
Why the hell is Bruce’s traffic engineering team, which is the same as Blackspear’s, still keeping these bike traps in place?
They’re a proven failure and well documented hazard. The city has been noticed and it’s gonna lose some serious money and lawsuits.
I sure hope our traffic commission can address the serious issue. People are getting seriously hurt and have died on that stretch of road because of these bike traps.
The bullshit horn is owned by the councilmen, especially Bruce. If there is one thing that characterizes the current councilmen, it's dishonesty with the vast majority of residents. If there are two things, lack of experience and preparation are second.
Yes, Kevin Sabellico is still employed by Blakespear. Blakespear has always employed Sabellico in some form another. Just a few years ago he was Blakespear’s Chief of Staff. She sure knows how to pick them.
I'd start with proving there was a David Meyer fundraiser. Some random anonymous person claiming it here isn't convincing, and no, I don't have the attendance list for an event that may or may not have happened.
What I meant is that there is no documentation of anyone financially supporting her campaign. The info is available on the city website and I see no one listed that fits your description.
Finally, what difference would it make if a developer supported her? It's not like developers have been even slightly impacted by anything the councilmen have done since getting elected/appointed almost two years ago. Developers seem to be doing fabulous under the councilmen so far.
Ask Beauchamp, Stone, Berlfein, all of whom were discussing excitedly at the Legion. Typical donor behavior where the donors are not popular is to wait until later in the game to donate so the story has less time to get out. Wait for it then follow the money.
"What difference would it make if a developer supported her?" Thanks for the laff of the day. You should know that this council is burdened legally by the developer gifts of the Blakespear/Kranz years. This council is suing the Meyer Clark St. project for fire safety issues. Would Viskanta do that? Nevah.
"This council is burdened legally by developer gifts of the Blakespear/Kranz years"
Translation: the city councilmen knew they couldn't do shit about development while running for office, sold voters on a fantasy to get elected, and now need an excuse for their complete failure to avoid being voted out.
Ah yes. I remember when the current council ran for office.
They stood up and proclaimed “It doesn’t matter if you elect me, because the donations to previous council members have already set the future in concrete. There’s really nothing I can do if you elect me. It doesn’t matter.
This town is also burdened by the development of the Stock/Bonds days. Ask anyone in Leucadia living near a former greenhouse. Same song, different concert...
David Meyer is an in law to the Ecke family, right? And the Ecke family is responsible for the enormous development called Encinitas Ranch which added tons of upscale-ish homes, a golf course, made Leucadia Blvd connect to ECR, opened more property to development and probably more that I'm unaware of (like Walmart, Home Depot, Target). In those days the "developer whores" on council were of a different political persuasion than those currently being blamed for development.
12:58 you think Meyer was the only donor at his fundraiser? You funny.
To the EA cabal carrying water for developers and their bloviating attorneys, try harder. Do better. Not a single council member among the guys who overturned the durr durr duh durr Kranz candidates ever promised to reverse the damage that BlakesKranz legally signed us up for. Not. Once. But keep on keepin' on.
No one said they all put their hand on a bible and swore they would stop all development.
However, the meat & potatoes of their campaign involved claims of "preserving" Encinitas, constantly attacking the previous council for developments they approved (still at it), attacking their opponents relentlessly about supposedly being pro-development (sounds familiar) and carefully worded statements that alluded to fighting development.
Their hardcore supporters are still at it, even though the councilmen are responsible for approving 5 large multifamily developments in less than 2 years, including the largest that has ever existed in the city.
In other words, they told voters what they wanted to hear to get elected. This was slimy politician 101, and since successfully misleading voters on development they have proceeded to be less than honest on a variety of topics. I trust basically zero the councilmen say.
1:45 your "responsible for approving" were the final step on already-approved projects. Nothing Marco Gonzalez would've loved more than them stopping all projects like he and his cohorts claimed would happen, bringing on massive lawsuits. How disappointing for them that Ehlers & co. are carefully picking their battles. Gonzalez's silence all these months tells you how unsure he is of prevailing on Clark St. Finally having to earn that developer fee, eh?
If the 5 mega projects the councilmen approved were fated and they had no choice, why ask them their opinions to begin with?
If they're being somehow forced to approve every large project that comes their way, why don't they explain to voters that their hands are tied and always were?
If all of this was going to happen no matter who was elected, why did they mislead voters about being capable of something, anything?
You're saying we have 4 insincere impotent toads sitting on council for no real reason.
To add: Bruce's projected image before running for council was that he was fired from the planning commission because he was a pure anti-development activist, standing up for his community and against big bad developers. The developer puppets couldn't handle that, so he was fired instead.
The community rose up and supported Bruce in a dramatic, public fashion. This man HAD TO run for council and save us from the evil developers and corrupt council!
Since then he hasn't done anything about development at all, in any way.
This man has to be one of the bigger drama queens in the city, closely followed by his lady handlers.
Are you trying to convince us, or yourself? Still trying to get over your defeat your latest plants are no poster children for what the people want. A return to a Blakespearean regime where they don't even pretend to want to put up a fight is not wanted here.
“It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled. Especially if they are in a cult dedicated to celebrating the dumb and uneducated.”
The current council outside yes-woman Lyndes never said they'd do what they could, and they are. Beauchamp and Ayers can't wait to pen their next hit piece. Ayers got caught lying bigly.
Bruce and the stooges have controlled the city for 2 years.

Because government doesn't work that way, we're not a dictatorship and there are rules. God people are dumb....

8:15am The bigger question should be do you see anything but patterns behind your chosen blindness to reality?
ReplyDeleteI have it on good authority from social media.
ReplyDeleteI’m guessing.
Yeah.
No shit, no one in that thread knew exactly what happened.
DeleteCyclist hits pole.

This is hilarious.
Freak show do not matter.

ReplyDeleteHe lost his rotten 💩 flower to the Cardiff Gimp at last Saturday’s Freakshow. Pounded to look like chopped liver.
