  2. What the fuck?!!!

Watch the video of the meeting starting at 5:06. The rest of the discussion has no bearing on the issue. The Mayor and Tasha are absolutely correct. What the fuck is wrong with the rest of City Council and the City Manager. Joe is a total flick flopper. Joe you are a ridiculous sellout and done after this term.

The site selection was already made. Why was the agenda report even written to allow the discussion of L7. Staff is incompetent, and this discussion violates the Brown act.

Its actions like this that result in the complete distrust in City Hall. City Hall does not know what the Fuck they are doing.

That meeting was completely ridiculous and embarrassing for Encinitas. If I was a City Council member I would be furious. Its clear to me that the City Manager is taking direction from a few certain City Council members over others, and totally disrespected the Mayor and Tasha. The next step for Mayor and City Council is to hire a City Manager that can present matters and recommendations to City Council with transparency and start rebuilding the trust in City Hall!

Why is Encinitas City Hall so fuckup?!!!

    1. It was getting on to midnight and the mayor was beaten down by a well-organized crowd of NIMMBYs. Pending reviews will likely drop a few more sites, so by June they will scramble to find another bad place for poor people to live.

So get organized folks. Your neighborhood could be next!

  4. None them deserves respect: they don't give any.

Brenda got caught, which she seems to do every time now, omitting important details. When asked a direct question, she claimed the only information sent to HCD were the units and "certain policies."

It was Diane Langager, one of Brenda's reports, who struggled not to say it, but eventually eked out "and the height change." You can bet Brenda will be slapping Diane's hand hard for being forthcoming. Can't have that.

    1. The document submitted to HCD and signed by Brenda Wisneski does indeed contain a reference to 37 feet. Just searh the text of Appendix B to find it.

So she either didn't read the document she was representing or else she came to te council meeting with a bag of alternative facts. Either way, it is Brenda who needs to be slapped, and not just on her hand!

  5. The sixth member of the city council is Nick Lee who is also a Vice President of Baldwin & Sons. In the new districting scheme he represents La Jolla. He recuses himself from matters not related to his company.

While comments by Encinitas residents were limited to 3 minutes this guy repeatedly spoke on matters that benefit his company. He almost managed to talk more than Tasha so he is very accomplished.

  6. What I have observed over the past two decades plus in Encinitas is that Councils change, City Managers change, and staff (much more so recently) changes.

Yet someone is always complaining about City Hall. Encinitas always seems be in a never-ending drama. It doesn't matter what the subject is. A few residents will make a big deal over (insert topic here). It is entertaining for sure but Council, City Manager, and staff will always be in a no-win situation with a select few residents in Encinitas, which is why they often take your rants with a grain of salt.

  7. Nice try staff spin doctor, but for anyone watching this video its clear the Management screwed this up big time. I know the Mayor and Tasha are pissed and for good reason. I would be unglued.

Encinitas as a whole lost last night. The Housing Element will go down in flames. I will be voting no.

City Hall has no idea what it is doing. I put no faith in Muir's direction to the City Manager. He is tied to Meyers and other developers.

    1. I am not staff and I am not spinning since I have not seen any video. I'm not referencing anything in particular. My point is that there will always be something, and you will always blame Council, CM, or staff. I'm not asking you to stop. It has provided years and years of entertainment.

    2. That's your problem. You don't watch, you just sit back and assume it's all going to smooth out over time. Until something goes in next door to you -bthen we'll hear you screaming down at City.Hall with the rest of us.

It's not ok what's happening there and it's not going to all work out.

What a mess; and as for Catherine, her allegiance is to Marco Gonzalez and Keith Harrison. She's at the tippy top of the mess.

    3. Fighting something next door is one thing, and entirely understandable. Some people in this town like to glom on to whatever they can to hear themselves complain because they've got nothing better to do.

  8. California’s legislature is poised to approve one of the most serious attacks against freedom of speech ever contemplated in U.S. history this week. Assembly Bill 2943 is legislation that would place that state in an Orwellian society by banning books, speech, and commercial services that would (in the state’s subjective view) help or encourage any willing consumer to overcome same-sex desires or gender confusion.
It’s the latest stride for the radicsl LGBT agenda to promote their (and only their) message, declaring anyone who might have any other viewpoint or simply desire to learn varying perspectives subject to “unlawful business practice” remedies. In other words, a Christian bookstore could be sued for carrying a book such as Ryan T. Anderson’s latest, When Harry Became Sally, solely because the message is in conflict with the LGBT agenda.

AB 2943 has been shoehorned rapidly through the legislative process in an attempt to give little time for opposition voices to be heard and stop this unconstitutional measure from being passed into law. The bill was approved 8-1 by the Assembly Judiciary Committee (7 Democrats and 1 Republican voting aye; 1 Republican voting no; 1 Republican abstaining), and is now heading to a vote as soon as Monday or early this week, according to California Family Council, which has been closely monitoring this bill.

  9. I would find it funny, except for the fact that the mismanagement:

    1. wastes millions in tax money for projects that other Cities implement with easy. i.e. - housing element updates and streetscapes.

    2. Makes residents hate the City Hall considering nothing is transparent.

    3. Infrastructure around town looks like shit and costs double what it should to maintain. Just look at the crappy road conditions and the fricken City never saw a tree that it felt needed to water. Its funny they call themselves tree city when staff kills and stunts the growth of thousands of trees throughout the City yearly.

    4. The list and waste goes on and on.

So it is kind of funny that such a nice coastal town is run like Homer Simpson is at the helm. On the other hand, the tax payers get screwed big time. Issues such as safe streets, healthy trees and needed enforcement get blown off by staff, and finally for all the non work done, staff get millions in pensions for their incompetence. Ha Ha Ha!!!

    I get it. Kindof.

    1. Not sure what city you're trying to compare Encinitas with. The Encinitas I've known since my elementary years is fantastic.

  10. Colonel Sanders saying he will vote for Minnie Mouse and encouraging others to do the same was classic. He then paused for laughter that never came which made the moment ever funnier.
