I used to watch meetings on my computer and have since 2000. Lots and lots of them. Can't do that anymore. Last few times I've tried, I was directed from a blank screen to lots of tech advice that was useless. These meetings should be easily available to any computer. As usual, an Encinitas city hall FAIL.
This Meyer business needs to see the light of day. Sounds like his thug behavior has some council support or at least knowledge.
Tony tried tripping up a speaker, taking issue with her use of the word "swap" in regard to Meyer. She had to enlighten him that Brenda, planning director, used the word.
He made a few follow-up grunts in vague protest, then finally stopped, saving himself from further embarrassment.
That's the job of the City Manager. This one seems to retain control by replacing anyone having experience with Encinitas. Of course the Mayor and City Council can handle their City Manager?
"Having experience" with Encinitas? Guess that's City worker code for "knows the ins/outs of how to screw Encinitas." Residents love Brust for at least cutting out the deadwood, with more pruning to go.
All together, now: "The City Manager works at the pleasure of the City Council." Brust is performing exactly as directed.
Something was very off about Kranz's performance last night, not that that's really new. He seemed very uncomfortable with the folks going after Meyer, and his mood worsened throughout the evening. I have my suspicions about who he's really working for - I think everyone does. They should.
No more jazzhands...
ReplyDeleteCity looking worse than ever. Speaker after speaker slamming the planning department on a variety of topics. Something for everyone!
ReplyDeleteCouncil won't even look at the speakers.
Bad mix: incompetence, malevolence, ignorance, self-interest, greed.

ReplyDeleteEvery time a speaker slams the planning department, Brenda smirks. Why is she still here?
DeleteIt worked fine on my Widows 10 computer. You must have a virus, a bad computer, or an inferior internet service.
Delete8:46 Try a different browser. City meetings were not streaming properly with Firefox. I switched to Chrome, and now they stream fine.

Oh, no. He wasn’t done embarrassing himself.
DeleteHis personal attack on the mayor drew the whole audience into loud boos and jeers.
Is this the worse council we've ever had? Bunch of ineffective babies. Don't re-elect any of them for anything, ever.
ReplyDeleteWho's going to run against Blakespear and Mosca in november?
Anyone who will get "staff" under control has my vote.

Muir was unable to dial in to last night’s meeting because he was in the middle of running a marathon.
ReplyDeleteDid they have another Coney Island hot dog eating marathon? Muir brings the prize home!
DeleteKranz is a bully! He is deeply in the pockets of developers.

ReplyDelete5:38 => Uh, who? Inquiring minds want to know!
ReplyDeleteThe dots are too huge to miss, dude - connect 'em.
DeleteWhy don't you just spell it out, Mr. Brockovich.
DeleteMy bologna has a second name (almost).
