The body of a man was found early Monday in a brushy area near the beach in Encinitas. That sounds like the Cottonwood Creek area where a body was found in 2011.
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials received a call from someone who found the body around 9:30 a.m. near B Street and Second Street, sheriff’s Lt. Dave Perkins said. The location is about a tenth of a mile from Moonlight State Beach.
I blame city staff.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? Staff is awesome.... they get projects that have been on the books forever forgotten by doing anything. Blakespear give them another raise for not doing anything. The are the experts.
DeleteBlame the council who set policy.
ReplyDeleteYeah. They really get things moving. Hey no progress no problem. Lets give another raise based on non performance and stalling everything.
DeleteHe must have been looking for an imaginary stairway. Whoops wrong beach.
ReplyDeleteprobably a heated tennis match that got out of hand. I've seen some serious aggro on those courts
ReplyDeleteIt's Scummy Goo Park - you wouldn't want to go there, especially at night. The residents are Scummie, Scaley and Scabby - they occasionally brawl and nail each other...
ReplyDelete"At least three women say the former associate pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Encinitas tried to seduce them."
ReplyDeleteIs this the Kranz-enabled scandal everybody has been waiting for?
What do you expect when the place was an old sewage plant. Yeah, the city said it was cleaned up. City never proved the information on how much lead was still in the soil. Things that roll in the water aren't for the kids.
ReplyDeleteLots of great comedy about somebody being found dead.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing we even got Cottonwood Creek. It took two elections, (Prop X,and Prop A,)and the second time the council simply said: "Nah! We don't want it, so screw the voters". The San Dieguito Heritage group tried to orchestrate a land grab by insisting they get their 2 acre parcel that was part of the deal on the ballot to build the park. Even after the council had nixed the election results they STILL thought they had a right to the land. This is when we had John Davis, who wanted to put a used parking lot there, Gail Hano, who believed there never was a creek there in the first place, James Bond, who didn't care one way or another and a couple of other buffoons whose names I would rather forget. Soil studies determined the dirt was so toxic it would be foolish to build any structures, thus we got our park. I wouldn't let my kids play in the creek or the dirt, either. In addition, there were 4 plans, approved by Parks and Rec booster, Dave Wiggington, that would've destroyed the whole area with concrete, parking lots, tot lots, and whatever asphalt they could lay their hands on. Thanks to the work of Ida Lou Coley, Brad Roth and Mary Reneker, we have this small lovely space. Sure there's bums, at the park and on the Moonlight Beach side, but there's bums everywhere now.
ReplyDelete2:39 - thank you.
ReplyDeleteAs congested as Encinitas Blvd. is, it would not be a surprise if our co-opted by development city folks would try to use this sort of event as reason to cut trees, expand roads, give things to builder/friends and do away with this "blight".
Any identification of the deceased or cause of death stated yet?
