You have a choice. To help encourage those that belong in the cycle track to use it or continue to scare everyone away. It breaks my heart when I see 1 or 2 cyclists take the sharrow lane early in the morning when the cycle track is empty and clearly a better choice.
I am asking all of you to reconsider your position and treat the cycle track for what it is. A conflict area that may require you to go a little slower and be a little more accommodating for 5 minutes of your ride. An area where we have limited space and we all have a right to be there.

I try and take a middle of the road approach to things in general. The mayor of Encinitas and the council may be a bunch of gullible warming leftists (I hate the left) but the city does look nice compared to the City of San Diego as an example.

The earlier post suggested that after months of taking credit for the bike lane herself and blaming the people who used it for their own injuries that Blakespear told Hubbard to take blame. While I was quoting the other poster and responding to the upsetting news of Jody's illness, I should have said that what the other poster said was an an appearance. In my opinion, if Blakespear were actually a caring leader, she would not want for Ms. Hubbard to take on even more stress when she is fighting for her life. I apologize to Mayor Blakespear that I did not point out what appeared to have taken place, but my opinion of her character is based on watching her behavior and treatment of many other vulnerable people since she has been in politics. DeleteI don't know anyone who isn't sorry for Jody and isn't rooting for her full and complete recovery. However, she needs to consider what is best for her health since residents of Cardiff have been betrayed yet again with the breaking information that it was the City that was partially negligent in the Park lawsuit. There is no question that she will be recalled, so she really needs to consider if it might be better for her health to step down. There is no dishonor in taking care of oneself, and Cardiff residents are not ready to accept even lower performance than they have experienced on this council.
