Marco Gonzalez's fair-weather friendship makes for hilarious political ad

Marco Gonzalez, who heckles Julie Thunder for having formerly been a Republican and now being an independent, has some shifting allegiances of his own.

  1. It's pretty weird when two Hispanic leaders in the Democratic party are supporting a Republican who supports Trump and building the wall. This election can't happen soon enough!

It's a fight to the death from here on out.

Politics is a bloodsport and if you came away with losing an arm and half your leg but the opponent is dead forever you've won.

    Keep winning.

  4. the timing doesn't allow him to make this right on mailers. he's stuck posting on facebook, preaching to his choir. reach isn't great in his echo chamber.

he was his usual over the top nasty self when promoting his girl OD. it's not in him to control himself, oh well.

  5. Marco and his incumbents.
Tony Kranz represents Encinitas as chairman of the North County Transit District which has decided they are above listening to cities on what NCTD wnats to do. The NCTD has petitioned the Surface Transportation Board for the NCTD to be autonomous and not allow any Del Mar, Encinitas, Oceanside to have any say in what NCTD plans to do. The latest is fencing the railroad tracks. The UT has a story on it.
"Though the Surface Transportation Board has not yet decided the petition, NCTD officials said last week they have the right to install the 6-foot-tall fence along with lights, security cameras and public-address speakers within the railroad right-of-way without additional approvals. The district plans to complete the project by the end of this year." UT Oct. 24, 2020. Can you imagine lights, security cameras, and loud speakers on these fences in Encinitas, Cardiff, and Leucadia? Tony Kranz isn't protecting the Environment for the residents of Encinitas. Retire the incumbents now. Vote Thunder, Turney, Riley.

    1. This article might explain some of the problem with Marco. He was a graduate of UC Santa Cruz where they gave no letter grades but students had to instead turn in narrative essays! No wonder he is such a polished liar with no standards! He graduated from a school at a time when they had no standards for cheating or traditional forms of evaluation. Kudos to the Faculty Senate who voted to change this policy after Marco left! He loves to portray himself as an intellectual, but he is the product of a system with low standards. SDUS should tread carefully.

    2. Yeah, that's not exactly how it worked. I was a science major, so most of my classes were graded. And, I was given a GPA for grad school (off of a typical 4 point scale - Mine was a 3.6 at the end of undergrad). In some of our liberal arts classes, we received narrative evaluations in conjunction with a "grade" that corresponded to a GPA value.

    3. Marco, your word means nothing. You sent out a fake endorsement awarding Blakespear and Gaspar support of a made-up law enforcement body. You are a joke among the scientific community since one basic skill is that scientists are not supposed to be liars. I believe the LA Times articles and the academics who fought to get grades at UCSC--maybe even because of students like you!

  17. A shipment of "damning" documents linked to Marco Gonzales and his family mysteriously disappeared in transit to Los Angeles, Fox News host Tucker Carlson revealed on his show Wednesday night.

"There is always a lot going on that we don't have time to get to on the air," the "Tucker Carlson Tonight" host told his audience, "but there is something specific going on behind the screens that we did feel like we should tell you about.

"On Monday of this week, we received from a source a collection of confidential documents related to the Gonzales family," Carlson went on. "We believe they are authentic, they're real and they're damning."

"We texted a producer in New York and asked him to send those documents to us in L.A, " Carlson explained. "And he did that, so Monday afternoon of this week, he shipped the documents overnight to California with a large national carrier, a brand-name company that we've used, you've used, countless times with never a single problem."

But the documents never arrived in Los Angeles, Carlson said.

  20. Margo, margo, what will you do, not that I give a squat about your doing what you do to chase the almighty dollar.

Our community is not better off for having your insider influence. You squandered your reputation for whatever positive actions you took years ago.

Scraping the dregs of the bottom of the barrel is all you have going these days. Scrape on margo.

What a dream it would be if you moved your base of operations somewhere, anywhere else with a new council majority in place.

That would be the most positive thing you could do for our community, as if this will make even the slightest impression from such a character as you have become.

I imagine this coming loss will result in more cases being filed on your part. I doubt we have seen the last of your specious arguments supporting developers and a failed administration put out to pasture. They should appreciate that is all they have lost out on.

If they are not gone after leaving office, they should count themselves fortunate to have gotten away with way too much. Oh let me count the ways. Never mind.

  21. Marco here. For all of you low-information voters (who knew there were so many of you on a blog that encourages such divisiveness from anonymous comments), here's my response to Gaspar's use of my quote from the primary on her mailer.
    --------------------------------

Gaspar's Desperation Increases as Election Day Nears

With the election drawing to a close, perennial conservative Republican Kristin Gaspar is doing everything she can to convince low information voters that she isn't the Trump acolyte we've all known her to be the last four years.

Earlier this month Gaspar sent out mailers seeking to confuse voters by asserting she works well with Supervisor Fletcher (my brother-in-law). Nothing could be further from the truth, as Democrat Fletcher was often joined by centrist Republicans on the Board of Supervisors in opposition to Gaspar. He responded to her misleading mailers with a press conference calling Gaspar's efforts "deceitful".

    And she's at it again...

Some of you may have recently received a mailer with photos of me and Olga Diaz claiming "even democrats don't trust Terra Lawson-Remer," including an out of context quote from a Facebook post during the primary (when I supported Olga).

I've received multiple calls from voters questioning why I would support Gaspar based on this unauthorized use of me in her mailer.

Let me be absolutely clear, I do not support Kristin Gaspar for Supervisor and have already cast my vote for Terra Lawson-Remer for San Diego County Board of Supervisors - District 3.

Why is Gaspar so desperate to distance herself from her
conservative Republican Trump-loving reputation? Simply, it's because she knows it doesn't play well with voters of District 3.
It's time to end Gaspar's political run, and vote Terra Lawson-Remer for San Diego County Board of Supervisors - District 3.
