Deputies responded to the Lazy Acres Market on Encinitas Boulevard around 6 p.m. Deputies say a group of about a dozen people were refusing to wear masks and yelling at store employees and customers. Management asked the group members to leave, but they refused. Deputies were able to get the people to leave the property.
Around 7 p.m., deputies were called to Seaside Market on San Elijo Avenue in Cardiff for another trespassing incident. Deputies say a group of people refused to wear masks and were yelling at store employees and customers. They were asked to leave but refused.

A major component of the project includes bolstering the urban tree canopy that is a quintessential aspect of Leucadia. During design, the project team worked around the existing trees as much as possible, but some trees must be removed to accommodate future features of Streetscape like wider sidewalks, but the City has a plan – down to each individual tree – to ensure the canopy is protected and enhanced with the project. This includes planting almost 100 new trees as part of Phase 1 construction. This is just one example of Encinitas’ commitment to protect its historic canopy with its award-winning Urban Forest Management program.
Construction on Streetscape started right after work began on the El Portal Undercrossing Project, a new grade-separated railroad undercrossing for bicycles and pedestrians, between North Coast Highway 101 and Vulcan Avenue at El Portal Street. I ended up crashing into those new block barriers, flew off my bike, and ended up being hit by an oncoming car. It was near Pacific Coast Grill, and I am wondering two things.
