Kranz posts Prop A court hearing audio

From the Inbox:
Despite this obvious warning posted for those logging in to court proceedings, Tony Kranz both recorded the Prop A hearing and posted them to his website.

Calling it a "bootleg" copy, Kranz went on to offer up his personal prediction on the outcome of the case: My Weblog — Tony Kranz.

  1. Since Kranz broke the law by recording the hearing, will he be penalized?

In the item below the recording on his site, he goes whole hog for grade crossings in the Leucadia rail corridor like those in San Clemente.

How many people have been injured or killed at those grade crossings? San Clem is a quiet zone; Leucadia is not. With more grade crossings in Leucadia. The train horns and other noise would be unbearable.

With all the millions spent on the El Portal undercrossing, the Leucadia Blvd grade crossing, the adjacent Streetscape and on the upcoming grade crossings, we could have gone a long way toward paying to lower the tracks as Solana Beach did. That would be safer, quieter, cleaner and would have made Streetscape cheaper.

    1. Probably not.
As long as he doesn't remodel his kitchen.

  2. Kranz could be penalized, absolutely. Just takes the right call to the right person at the court.

Typical attitude of Kranz's and the entire council: disregard the process, break the rules, carry on and too bad if folks don't like it.

  3. It would be terrific if Tony K. goes to jail or gets a big fine. Ir would maybe derail his run for mayor. Likely to be a slap on the wrist or a small fine. Too bad.

  6. Not the sharpest tool in the shed for sure. He is alot like old Dalablabber. But he loves to go on free junkets with property owner looking to upgrade the usage of their property.

You pat my back and I'll pat yours. Get it?

You take me and my wife on a nice trip to Israel, and I will work hard for you to allow you too do whatever you want to do with your agricultural zoned property on Saxony Ave. OK Leichtag Foundation https://leichtag.org/leichtag-commons/about/ ?

    1. This is disgusting. For Kranz to accept that $10,000 five-star trip to Israel on behalf of Jewish non-profiteer Jim Farley and his Leachtag Foundation who commanded him to allow the Jewish groups to enjoy an increase of 40% in ocean-view office space. Imagine how many more buyers would have paid so much more for the Ecke Ranch had they known that they could increase their ocean-view office space by 40%? Instead Jim Farley pulls down $400,000 a year from his Jewish non-profit (called NonprofiTEERs for a reason) and Leechtag doesn't even pay one dollar in property tax to the City of Encinitas. A profiteering business could have bought the property and paid tons of property tax every year to our city and enjoyed the benefit of an age/office combo zoning. Kranzes action is just as disgusting as the sneaky Jewish non-profits bribe to him. Disgusting people all around.

  7. Are we sure that Marco is not behind this and might be using Kranz as his tool (as usual)? Tony thinks that people just want to give him trips to Israel 'cause he is such a smart guy.

This City Council never learns - They are listening to a total idiot Abe who is designing things that are getting people killed.

Tony K was spot on this issue. The Mayor support just winging it and that is why these projects are so bad and will end up killing more people. WTF? They learned nothing from Roberta Walker, Stephanie Berger, or Dr. Jennings Worley.

Thanks City Council now we get our own even worse shitty section of Vulcan Avenue made worse by the City again. Abe and the City Council are really harmful to the Citizens of Encinitas. Pathetic.

Prepare for more death and more lawsuits. The City Council just approved it!!!

  13. Cliff notes from the Vulcan Ave City Council action.

Staff - This item is being brought forward to address safety and mobility on Vulcan without studying the issue and just providing some paint, blinking lights and a whole shit load of ugly signs that pollute our area and no one will pay attention to anyway. Additionally, we are hoping this paint job will satisfy the City Council and the Coastal Commission to prepare a study on the item.

Mayor - Well hold on I have some serious concerns about pushing traffic to the west and making people walk on the east. What about all the conflicts with parking and speeding cars and we are going people 2 to 3 feet of unloved space to walk on next to speeding cars? That doesn’t sound safe.

Staff - Yes Mayor that is what we are proposing.

Vice Mayor Kranz - I agree. I have many concerns with this proposal. What is this based on? was there a study completed and did you review any data?

Staff - No. We do not need no stinking study, we just want to paint stuff on the roads and put up more signs…. What we learned in Leucadia is the residents like to say , “Keep it Funky”…. What they really mean by that is keep it Junky… what better way than painting the road with road graffiti, paving over paradise for more parking to make it more difficult to walk on the west side of the road, and put up thousands of more ugly signs. Now that is FUNKY.

Kranz - Well personally I think you need to study the issue. What are the speeds on the street and what are the traffic and pedestrians counts?

Staff - I do not want to study it even though the City Council directed us to study it and budgeted $100k to study the issue. The City is broke anyway and can not afford shit. Hell we can not even afford the resurface our existing roads.

Kranz- Well that does not seem right. How can you recommend something that hasn’t been studied?

Mayor - Hey that’s enough here Kranz. Pipe down. Let some of my other flunkies have a say.

Kinze - Well? I have some of the same concerns as Tony. Why don’t you make the parking on the west more organized and safer and create space for pedestrians west of the parking?

Staff - Well that would have to be studied and again we do not want to study it.

Kinze- Well how about how this effects the new rail road crossing at El Portal to Vulcan Avenue.

Staff - What crossing know one told me to coordinate with no crossing. Oh the one that is under construction? No I do not know anything about that and I will have to get back to you.

Mayor - OK OK Kelly geez. Next.

Mosca - Well I love cheap paint and ugly signs for Leucadia, so you can save the City’s money for my roundabouts on Rancho Sante Fe we just studied a few months ago. I do not think I can support this project since both City Council reps for the area do not support it?

Mayor - Oh yes you can Mosca and you will. Now pipe down and let our newest member speak.

Park 2 - Coming soon. Watch it yourself. https://encinitas.granicus.com/player/clip/2454?view_id=7&meta_id=125045&redirect=true

  16. Another example of the America hating left. Alzheimers joe shuts down a major pipeline project. WHY? The left doesn't want more oil, they want less. This way when there is a shortage of gasoline and heating fuels...they, the left controls the population. When there is less oil the power plants will need to shut down or lower production. Then the people in the electric cars the left wants you to drive...CAN'T BE DRIVEN.
    Why...NO ELECTRICITY. Population control.
Wise up. The left wants to control everything you do.

  17. the left and right conversation blah, blah, blah....go rant on MSNBC and Fox, back to local issues?

So the real question is when did our City Council decide in a public meeting that staff could waive the Vulcan Study which it included in its budget to address resident concerns and the Coastal Commissions concerns.

If striping and ugly useless signs are good enough to get people killed on Vulcan Ave then that is also good enough for Mosca's Rancho Sante Fe pet project.

Encinitas City Councilman Goes Criminally Rogue

Tony Kranz, who has been an Encinitas councilman since 2012 and is now deputy mayor, illegally recorded a court hearing and posted the sound file on his website. He wrote:

“This is a bootleg recording of a judicial hearing held virtually with Judge Maas presiding in the matter of City of Encinitas vs. California Department of Housing and Community Development with Preserve Prop A as Intervenors, in an effort to get Declaratory Relief from the voting provisions of Prop A when needed to comply with state housing laws.

“My prediction is that Judge Maas will not grant Declaratory Relief.”

Shortly thereafter, Kranz removed the sound file from his website and changed “This is” to “This was.”

At post time, it’s not known if Kranz will be held accountable for his blatantly illegal act.

Kranz is well known for his anti-Prop A stance. Some time after voters passed Proposition A on June 18, 2013, Kranz said from the City Council dais that he wanted to “kill this thing.”

With his recent illegal act, Kranz’s enthusiasm to kill Prop A seems to have gotten the better of him.
