It appears the cops were familiar with this guy. The news had a picture of a bicycle down in the field, so the assumption given was that it was the deceased person's mode of transportation. Maybe a crazy local, either with a stolen handgun or one taken from his family? Show a cop a gun and it's all over . . .
This is a sad story, but what was he intending to do with his gun while lurking around the neighborhood? It could have ended badly for other people as well.
The cops are slow at releasing information on the deceased person's identity and the details of the confrontation. Was the gun stolen, loaded and pointed at them by the suspect? If stolen, has it been associated with a local burglary? Neighbors claim they've seen the suspect stealing items from construction sites nearby. His encampment was nearby where he was shot, so he appears to have been homeless.
I hope the cops had on their body camera on like they are supposed to to help show the DA what really happened?
