Blakespear's revisionist history

Coast News Commentary

With State Senate stakes high for Encinitas Mayor Blakespear, she cannot rely on her actual record to get elected and instead has resorted to creating an alternate history to bolster her image.

Her revision of history started with the Cardiff Rail Trail and her flip-flop of its location on the east or west side of the tracks, and the embarrassment of having both SANDAG and the Coastal Commission disagree with her.

Last year’s loss in court when she sued Encinitas residents over Prop A further prompted her to begin changing the actual history of events to create a false and distorted record of her performance as mayor.

A review of “Catherine’s Top 10 of 2021” exposes her revisionist history on every single one of her “accomplishments.” Let’s take a look:
Click on over to read Blakespear's Top 10 rebutted. It's good.

  1. Blakespear is by now the most detested politician in Encinitas history.

    1. Taking the #1 detested position away from $tock$ is quite an achievement! She needs to be soundly defeated in the State Senate election and permanently relegated to obscurity.

    2. She's the most detested by the smallest number of extremely loud and persistent sycophants. Yet the voters never seem to agree.

  2. Agreed. If BIAspear wins in Nov. I will max out all my properties for stack and pack rentals and move to Hawaii, North Carolina, or Florida. It seems Encinitas has chosen its path to look like Oceanside or at least Huntington Beach. Yuck1

  3. There is absolutely no coherent urban planning in Encinitas. As Sunshine Garden sinks with the sunset, the permanent high density monstrosity will eventually clog that small valley. Hundreds of additional cars will attempt to enter and exit onto Encinitas Blvd./Leucadia Blvd. from this complex, major freeway access points. They are already severely over loaded and often the signals aren't synced correctly due to the density of vehicles. This complex will intensify the problems and make these routes impassible without outrageous waiting times. It is a prime example of poor (no) urban planning, having sold out sensibility to the big developers' profits. (Blakespear's political donors)

  4. Make Sunshine Gardens 25 stories so the section 8 housing can have ocean views. Do not worry that it will steal the sunshine and views from the neighbors. It's all about giving our assets to those in need. Remember do as BIAspear says not as she does.

    1. As many times as the 10:35 idiot has been told the fact that affordable housing is not Section 8 housing, he continues to call it that.

  5. Yeah. I love Huntington Beach! Thanks BIAspear!! Just think of all those new taxes!!

That existing Capt Kenos had way too much community character and charm anyway.

We should change the City emblem to a bulldozer and change our motto to Encinitas - Pave over paradise!

  6. AND another 200 units planned on Enci Blvd across from the crack shack! Mosca and Kranz, both Mayoral wannabees can take credit for this too!

    1. Extreme gridlock is inevitable - and there will be no resolution possible, as the roads cannot be improved. this is NOT low cost housing - it is prevailing market rate, based on some sort of mean average income for the area. It is ONLY about developer profits.

  7. A lot of this is the fault of the leftist ruining California due to their passing of laws for low income housing. gavin newsom the tweeked out nub case is fully to blame. Once again, everything the left does, they destroy. Children in adult bodies.

    1. STFU 3:08! You are a certified idiot. Your brain is so small that you can't stop yourself from posting the same crap over and over again. Surprise readers here and come up with something that actually sounds intelligent.

  8. Excuse me fine person posting at 3:08pm. Can you please restrain from dropping left ruining comments on every local post. I get your point and agree but it get extremely repetitious and I get no value out of your repetitious comments.

Thanks for your consideration and can you add a comment or opinion on our local issues?

    1. A house is only as good as it's foundation. When dingbats make decisions concerning all of us it's bad juju.
And, since the point of learning is review review review from a teachers point, the left is ruining California and the entire country. Blakespear is a leftist, get it?
Anyone that believes in the lie of "man made global warming" is a fool. Just look at what the left has done to this country in 11 months...ruined it from where it was 12 months ago. I'll never stop as the left is,
"the enemy within" The left is ruining Encinitas

    2. 5:09 You're an idiot. Your stupidity is surpassed only by your ignorance. Encinitas was better off when Stocks was mayor? California was better off when Arnold was governor? The country was better off when Trump or Bush was president? 9-11, the invasion of Iraq and the financial collapse happened on Bush's watch. Do you admire Rumsfeld? Dick Cheney?

Everybody with even half a brain sees and acknowledges the overwhelming evidence that global warming and climate change are happening and are an existential threat to life on Earth. Only shit-for-brains people like you deny them.

Only a pea-brain moron doesn't see the right as the danger to democracy not only in America but many countries around the world. Maybe you want to become a citizen of North Korea? Venezuela? Myanmar? Turkey? Russia? Hungary?

      Go ahead. Good riddance!

    3. 2:54 - You do not sound so smart yourself.

      - We were better off with any of our former Mayors. BIAspear is the worst.

      - Arnold was not good but better than Newsome.

      - Bush was horrible, Trump a complete dissaster, Obama stomach-able because his was respectful but didn't know shit otherwise, Clinton - puke. Perot and Ron Paul would have put this country in a much better spot then we find ourselves today. The debt and inflation will be the real killers of our democracy.

the rest of your post is just weak garbage rant.

    4. 7:54 PM Fairly accurate assessment. This country is headed to become an autocracy, due to the out-dated electoral college. Only a few red-necked states now determine the results, regardless of the popular vote. The Bible and Rust Belts are in a depression, and fascist dogs like trump make false promises to bring it all back - that will never happen. Meanwhile, he only craves power and wealth and to hell with the ignorant peasants. Even without Trump, there are enough wanna be dictators waiting in the wings. The American Experiment may be failing, unless people wake up and demand that democracy be retained.

Republicans can't win on their merits, so they cheat.

  9. Capt. Kenos? OMG! Say it is isn't so. Please.

As fugly as it comes, and that is saying something, considering some of buildings that have been built in our town in the last few years.

It appears Swell is still the owner of these properties. I would like to be wrong. After their complete mismanagement of the Portofino, it is little wonder why they would want another name on the permit.

Gawd spare us from this proposed atrocity.

  10. Dear Mr. broken record: What's going on in this state and city has NOTHING to do with liberal/progressive politics. It has to do with big money and a system of systematic BRIBERY. If conservatives ran the state/city the only difference would be that the phony "affordable housing" canard wouldn't exist.
BTW Did you support citizens united decision?

  11. Another Blakespear conceived fiasco now in place - rental electrical bikes! No safety gear supplied and left in place 24 hours for the vandals to access. Remember the scooter disaster of a couple of years ago? It'll be a repeat performance with these electric bikes. Supposedly customers sign off with a waiver for possible injuries , but watch some lawyer find a way around that. I'd venture to say these rental bikes will all be gone by year's end.

    1. Spot on. It's easy to forget how dumb people are, but as "always" dumb rears its ugly head "every time".
Even now the kids riding around in lanes on electric bikes on El Camino Real is a ticking bomb. Be prepared for more little Johnnys and Suzies, laid out at the City Morgue.
Thinking nothing bad can happen is like thinking these cheap ass masks can stop a virus spore. People, dumb as a shrub.

  12. 12:34 - We shall see if the tourist like them enough to continue. They do take up space which could be used for nice walkways or other bikeracks.

I rode one and they are heavy and slow. Most other e-bikes smoke them regarding their performance and fun factor. They do look pretty nice though. I give the effort a 5/10 and will predict failure after one year.

    1. No personal safety gear supplied, crowded roadways and sidewalks, inexperienced users, bikes exposed to vandals - a recipe for disaster. How could anyone think this was a good idea?

  13. We shall see if these bikes can survive our mayor bringing so many homeless unfortunates to our town.

The temptation to screw around with all these bikes around our town may be a bit too much to expect from the masses of homeless that are here thanks to the mayors open invitation.

Other local towns knew better. Why didn't ours?

    1. These rental bikes will be tampered with - guaranteed! Look at the present rate of bike theft in the area. This is like leaving cheese out for the rats.

  14. Blakespear's new proposal - unicycles! Less road wear! Maybe clown cars too, where 20 clowns pack into a VW. The City Council and Mayor can demonstrate this, as they are the biggest clowns around!

  15. How dare you people point any finger at bkakespear, she is trying to save the earth from man made global warming. It's life and death, just like senator what's his name stated 30 years ago. That's when the east coast of the united states would be underwater in 10 years. So...the timing was off a tad but rest assured, it's coming, I think. In the mean time, ride electric bikes, you'll save the earth and don't mind the thousands of volcanos around the globe, it's just lighting and smoke effects to put warmers in the mood for a night of depression sex.
