Ehlers announces city council run for Olivenhain

Coast News:
I am Bruce Ehlers and I am running for Encinitas City Council District 4 (New Encinitas and Olivenhain) in November and hope you will join me in restoring a Council majority that will protect Encinitas from overdevelopment and fulfill the reason we incorporated in 1986.

Under the direction of our current City Council, Encinitas has undergone enormous changes that endanger the character of our community.

If you’re like me, you want to preserve the things that attracted you to live and stay in Encinitas: our beautiful coast, small beach town ambiance, overall quality of life and the special characteristics of our five unique communities.
Ehlers is the chairman of the Planning Commission and was a leader of the Prop A campaign to protect residents' right to vote on upzoning.

Incumbent Joe Mosca announced that he will not seek re-election. His role in upzoning the huge and hugely controversial Goodson development would surely have made that difficult.

  1. Give the Guerrilla some credit for the Mosca knockout.

  2. Kudos to EG and thanks to Bruce!

He's the real deal and has been working to keep Encinitas from becoming the next Huntington Beach for decades.

With the BIAspear/Newsom laws, the HB of today will look nice. With those losers in the state control you can plan on 5 to 10 story government housing apartments next to Moonlight beach in the next 10 years. Thats our whitest of Whites gal!!

Thanks for running Bruce. You have our family's financial and voting support.

  3. So I'm calling it - Bruce sure thing and Thunder a sure thing in Cardiff. That leaves it up to the Mayor's race.

Will Kranzablabber step up or will BIAspears favorite child "Forever Mask" Kenze step up?

And then who will take their third Council spot.

This is going to be the most fun election of all time. I hope its Kranzablabber the coast killer. He has so much good stuff to bring up for years to come. Heee Heee!!

  4. Just found this - Dalablabber is running!!! Yay!!!

    https://thecoastnews.com/encinitas-mayoral-candidates-discuss-homelessness-transparency/

Kranz would be more of the same. He supports SANDAG and I don;t know anyone who thinks they do a good job, he endorsed Blakepsear for Senate and she has been a disaster for Encinitas and he supported all of the ridiculous apartment complexes that will destroy Encinitas.
Jeff or Cindy would be. huge improvement, just as long as no one votes for Kranz hopefully we will be fine

I have to say, I'ff you love fenced off coastal access, High density by the beach, and building parking lots over areas that should be walking paths, than support Dalablabber. He is down more in 10 years to harm encinitas as almmost BIA has down.

How was that Japan trip junket paid for by the parking lot folks anyway Dalablabber?

    :). I am so happy!

    1. Cremona is mostly an unknown, and she's stretching to put a story together. Claiming to be a "business owner" when she has no employees other than herself seems phony.

Jeff Morris would be a nice addition to the race if he were funny, but no such luck.

Maybe another candidate will step up, but it's hard to imagine who could do it.

      Delete
    2. Bar is pretty low against Kranzablabber. I like the current candidates.

      Delete
    3. Cremona doesn't have to have employees to be a business owner. I met her at a recent meet and greet at her home.
She is self made and there was nothing "phony" about the fact that she was able to afford her very nice house purchase on her salary alone. Can't say the same for another single person on council.

Not entertaining "JC" as he's a non starter.

  5. Sorry not Dalablabber. its:

    *Kranzablabber

The winner of the town's dunce cap- Kranz

  6. Who will take Leucadia spot? I say the last candidate against Tony was pretty darn solid except he didn't seem like he would support streetscape. Adjust that and we have a winner.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Best part about Kranzablabber is he is straight up about his mission to build high density. He alreaday approved high density in his own home neighborhood without infrastructure.

then there is the high density Circus he approved where Roberto's currently stands. Good bye charactor taco shop, hello future Kranzablabber circus.

Massive apartments on Vulcan and La Costa Avenue at the shitty sketchy intersection. All the high density along Leucadia Blvd. with massive apartments at Garden Grove.

OMG - I love Kranzablabber is running. This will be endless fun!

The one question you have to ask yourself is, " what is one thing Tony has done in 10 years that is positive?"

Because there is a shit long list of things that he has done to hurt this surf town in the last 10 years.

Leading the charge for fencing coastal access is on top of my list.

    1. For sure. Kranz is the homeless industry builder. He's clueless on so many issues, because he never left his mommy's home.

People that do not experience the real world, have limited experience to draw on to lead a City.

  8. Kranz is the devil of the coast health. Spread the word.

Kranz supports blocking people from coastal access. Pathetic considering that is why we live here, and most people like access to the coast.

  9. I have to say, thank you to Gary M for never giving up on solving our problems that the City worsened by far.

Thank you sir. You did not abandon us like Kranz did once he got in office over building a homeless industry. Thanks for nothing Kranz.

  11. This is good news. I was contemplating yesterday how incredibly difficult it used to be in the not so distant past to get development plans approved and almost impossible to get up-zoning approved. This preserves lifestyle to be sure. Now it's just I think I'll tear down my little crapbox on a small lot and build 14 condos or whatever. All you've needed to do is sneeze to get approved. Progress is good however hypocrisy always come back to ruin things and much of Encinitas has been ruined by the run of woketopian low IQ elected officials of late.

  12. Latest revelations of "official" excess/graft. An auditor found SANDAG'S staff spent $2.5 million over 4 years with only about 20 credit cards issued. Many of the purchases were for food and drink, transportation and personal expenditures of several descriptions. Large purchases were split up to evade the $3500 single purchase limit. Many of the purchases lacked enough information to precisely identify the nature of the expenditures. Apparently there has been no accountability for the offenders; they've only reduced the number of credit cards in use. Wasn't Blakespear on the board? More evidence of her lack of suitability for higher office. SANDAG is still looking to increase taxes and levy a mileage cost for driving the freeways. In the real world, these rip-off staffers would be terminated. But it is government - -

  13. I recall that a forensic dig into how our city spends tax dollars was proposed years ago.

Just maybe with a new majority, this could finally be addressed. The number of skeletons in the closet have to huge.

A new majority holds much promise for long delayed accountability.

So does hope for a wide ranging sweeping out of the planning dept. sell outs doing what they are paid to do for much too long.

"We are not here to represent residents concerns. We are here to approve every project that comes before us" has to end.

Every planner should be required to become a member of the AICP. I doubt if there is a single planner who is a member of the national organization of certified city planners.

Why should this matter to anyone here? Every year their members are required to take a recertification requirement that focuses on planners taking residents concerns paramount. What a breath of fresh air that would be! No wonder none of our senior planners are members.

Where was Mali to call out these RACIST residents for complaining about their new neighbors that are welcomed by Kranz and Blakespear to camp out on our streets any day and anytime? After all, they are our newest mobile neighbors have just as much rights as you old time residents. Just because you bought your home and pay taxes does not mean you have any more rights that anyone else.

Watch the conversations that our occured at City Council as a result of Tony inviting all of CA homeless, vanlifers, and the world's mobile travels to camp out in front of your street.

Watch CC video starting at min 34:20. These crazy people are speaking about our newest mobile neighbors of Encinitas. How dare they.

You better start being nice to your new neighbors or we will sick Mali on you to call you out for being RACIST.

Also its interesting how the City Council and City Manager choses to respond to these public comments on a none agenda item yet they regularly take cover on other issues presented in public comment not on the agenda claiming Brown Act requirements. Which is it City Council?

Lastly, you better not post permit parking on these street preventing our newest neighbors to these nice streets. Where will they go? Afterall, Its now just as much their street as the tax paying citizens. I will sick the NAACP lawyers on you all and send notice to the new City Attorney.

These same issues will be continually flaring up next to every high density that Kranz supported in this last year. Kranz only brings pain and suffering to Encinitas.

Dianna Nunez and Carol Heil of Now Leucadia. Please recognize that Tony Kranz has brought the pain and suffering to Leucadia. He led the NCTD to fence off Coastal access from La Costa to Manchester Avenue and he deserves to be recalled. He also built a parking lot with all of its problems where a nice coastal trail should be like in Cardiff. Please start a recall petition for Kranz now. its the best thing you could do for Leucadia and your neighborhood.

  23. Jeff talks constantly about "blowing up things" and has promised regularly since he first surfaced that "something big is coming, tomorrow, very big." No idea what any of those "big" things were supposed to be.

When asked about how he would address a variety of city ills he response that he can't say because then the opposition would know his ideas. His social media asks for input on what's wrong in Encinitas is identical to Blakespear's when she first ran.

He would be most effective staying in his lane and focus on quietly helping the homeless, but instead he'll continue to trumpet that he's "the only one" who can fix Encinitas. Sounds a lot like the current mayor.

Corruption is the #1 issue facing Encinitas and it's unacceptable. I will be cleansing the City Council of corruption and reverting it back to public servants. There was an oath taken when the Councilmembers took that position. They are going to respect and comply with their oath.

    1. By far corruption is the number 1 issue in Encinitas. I'm going to address corruption by stopping it altogether. I will also be implementing a "ethics committee" for oversite duties to insure we never have another corrupt bunch like we have now.

Every important issue facing Encinitas is directly tied to our corrupt City Council. I would say the first act of corruption that caught my eye would have been the declaration of a "Shelter Crisis" in 2018. Little did we know then that this council would abuse emergency police powers to avoid residential input.

Our streets and skyrocketing crime tell the real story of corruption. I love this town and I am not going to let it be destroyed.

"Corruption" is a good start. You'll need to be specific on how you plan to eliminate it, as voters will want to hear your plan.

Your single frame of experience and reference are the homeless and crime. That is evident from your postings here and on other social media.

I am not Jeff but fencing off the access to the coast that has been open for millions of years, in the name of a low performing RR with empty death steal boxes that make endless noise, hydrocarbons, and dust pollution, and kill people, and cause major disruption at all the at grade crossings all in an effort to try to get a few more measly riders on the empty polluting Coaster trains.

I would call that corruption and our City Member Kranz is the one at the head of that corrupt effort.

Second would be opening up all the streets and welcoming the homeless from around the world to sleep and do drugs in front of our house.

Third - supporting the state in taking control of rezoning all of Encinitas with SB9 and SB10 and all the other state housing mandates, and suing its own citizens trying to keep local control.

    4. For 8:37am. Let me clarify something, I'm totally cool if someone wants to criticize or mock "facts" about me, but childish generalizations should be left for middle schoolers. Too date, 100% of accusations are false... but those making them already know this.

My #1 priority is dealing with corruption. I've vested thousands of hours and years of my own time investigating questionable actions. Initially, my focus was on the strong arm tactics to establish the homeless lot. Over time and thousands of hours later working with residents, I uncovered the entire spiderweb of corruption that led to the disaster that you see on our streets today.

My single frame of experience is "not" homelessness and crime. There's nothing evident about this statement because I didn't make it, I said corruption is my #1 priority. Investigating the humanitarian crisis that was intentionally created by this Council is the starting point that kicked everything off.

I've laid out my priorities on my Morris4Mayor.org page which I am finishing up. When you make a decision that you're going to run for office, you then begin working on your platform and resolution to issues.

All candidates #1 priority should be focusing on fixing corruption in Encinitas but how many candidates spent the past 3 years investigating this town? Only 1, that would be me. I've investigated, documented, and exposed various acts of corruption. I've also contacted dozens of enforcement agencies to initiate investigations and audits. They won't confirm nor deny if they are actively investigating.

To rephrase my position on corruption, I've been trying to get the authorities involved for 2.5 years. As other candidates were enjoying their normal lives, I focused on saving my town. Whether I'm Mayor or not, I'm not going to accept this corrupt disaster on my streets. Being Mayor helps give me more tools to fix Encinitas.

There are thousands of examples or corruption by this Council but here's one example. The 2018 Shelter Crisis that was declared a year before the Safe Parking Lot was announced. We didn't have a crisis but this declaration was declared to pave the way to turning Encinitas into North County's homeless hub.

The Council knew at that time that we didn't have a crisis, knew there was state grants in the form of HEAP, knew they only way they could collect checks for their special interest groups, and knew that a homeless crisis would have to be manufactured so their special interests could collect checks.

This City Council is 100% responsible for manufacturing the homeless crisis, the ensuing crime, and the destruction of our quality of life. They used Emergency Police Powers to get the voters out of the way and unilaterally decided to turn Encinitas into a homeless hub.

    5. Sorry. I hope Jeff has the bandwidth to understand the major damaging issues that Kranz has caused by fencing off all of Encinitas to the Coast.

Its been open for millions of years and, for absolutely no good reason, dipshit Kranz convinces his NCTD board to suddenly fence off the beach along all of North County.

This combine with the devastating effects of approving the high density apartments and low income rentals all along La Costa Avenue and Vulcan Avenue while ignoring saftey of school kids and others trying to walk along Vulcan and La Costa. He spearheaded the effort an area taking what was supposed to be a nice trail like they have in Cardiff and what does Kranz do?

He puts up a parking lot for his new homeless neighbors along with a free storage lot for boats, construction trailers, swamp meet tents, vanlifers, you name it and you will find it there.

What happened to the NOW Leucadia group that I joined. Did they flame out?

It sure seems like Tony has it in for Leucadia. I do not think Leucadia can handle Tony for 2 more months let alone two more years.

PLease NOW Leucadia launch a petition to recall Kranz from office. https://www.change.org/

Can someone please tell me, is NOW Leucadia still active?

    7. I should be kicking off my campaign this week. I will be meeting people, introducing the real Jeff Morris, discussing issues and answering questions.

For the record, there are 3 or 4 candidates who are running. One of those candidates has been a City Council member for a long time.

Here's a question. What is more important about this incumbent, 1. The content of what they have said, 2. Their delivery style, or 3. Their results? Which of the three examples is the most important for you to make a decision?

  33. 6:51 - I am with you on stoping these flying schools from flying over encinitas. You know there is a airport just north of Encinitas at Palomar Airport Road right?

I would start a petition with the end goal to stop the flying of Hydrocarbon combustible engines that are dangerous, spew toxic fumes over all the kids and citizens below and disrupt public health by widespread noise pollution all are facts and can not be disputed.

Include another primary goal is to reduce Green House Gases and stop climate change. That will get all the Don't look up Dems on board.

Once you get a healthy signature list on your petition, approach school boards and local city councils to adopt resolutions to support the cause all in the name of saving our planet.

Once you get a Hefty petition following then approach your state senators and assembly members, and US Representatives.

Ask state representatives to sign a resolution supporting the request to the FAA. On the federal reps as them to get a bill approved making it illegal to joyride over populated area over 25,000 peoples.

Del Mar was successful at getting the Navy to stop flying Navy jets and helicopters over its City and Encinitas could be just as successful if we had a halfway decent City Council, but we currently do not.

Here is a list of the State and Federal Reps. https://encinitasca.gov/Government/Elected-Officials

Here is the petition site. https://www.change.org/ Let me know once its up and I will get my whole family to sign. Thanks!

    1. Our group couldn't care less if the private planes fly out then back one time to two times. But, flying in circles, zig zag patterns, increasing and lowering engine rpm's and changing altitudes over 10's of thousands of people, their homes, schools...It's going to stop.
These flight schools are making money training people to fly over populated areas...our area. It also happens in Solana Beach and Del Mar, but I don't live there, I live in Encinitas. The majority comes out of Montgomery Field, twenty miles away. Soon I/we will be involving the Sheriffs Department Terrorist Division as we do not know who is piloting these planes. Next? Office of Homeland Security. And yes, the planes use leaded fuel which is falling on the fine folk of Encinitas.
The same lead you cannot use in your cars.
Am I an expert on planes, nope. But I know Safey (its my background) and I know flying over and over in circles isn't safe for people on the ground.
Note to schools/private plane owners: You, are going to stop this practice. If not, law enforcement's men in suits with 9mm on the hip are going to pay you a visit...
      You'll stop then, trust me.

  34. So Encinitas Now has become the new Encinitas Politics. Mali and Marco (but mostly Mali) are going hard trying their best to piss off the few residents that support their idiotic agenda. In a single comment, Mali claims that she's not qualified to consult for the city on DEI issues (why was she picked to be on the equity committee then?), that she has had a "lengthy career" in unions (isn't she barely 40?), and equates her toxic online attacks to those of Cindy Cremona (what? where?). She also ranted against all white home owners in Encinitas. Won't her husband be a white home owner when they buy the house she keeps talking about? She is the epitome of an entitled millennial, and is a complete joke.

I do agree with Mali that she is not qualified to consult for the City on DEI issues. Her contribution to this City has been to label the over 50,000 white residents as racists based on the fact that they live here. Oh wait--the comment above says that it is only white HOMEOWNERS. Does that include Catherine's mom, Kellie, Tony's wife, Joe's husband and Joy's husband? The entire argument does nothing but make her look foolish and piss people off.

  37. MWD. A Weapon of Mass Distraction for our community.

How fitting as a mouthpiece for our council to use. They had to have been desperate to bring on such a 'character' to represent them.

That our mayor, who is not my mayor in too many unforgiving ways, continues to support this interloper, will hopefully doom all of our current council sellouts to ousting as soon as possible.

There is not a keeper in the bunch.

Voters, please do your due diligence this election year and support the challengers in order to create a new council majority that is so needed.

Jeff, it is apparent your ego knows no bounds. All your candidacy will accomplish is to split the vote in favor of the incumbents.

You could provide a better service to this community we love by joining with our efforts. I have no doubt you treasure this specialness like many of us long timers' do.

The appreciation you would gain by joining in the effort to secure a new majority would go a long way to legitimizing your passion that many of us share.

You have a passion that deserves respect. Please put that energy into helping us get the votes we need for a new majority. You running against Cindy will only help to secure the current majority.

If such a gesture by you could be brought forward, it would not be forgotten and you could earn a place of respect with so many who are fighting for some true representation from
our elected"s that is so lacking.

We need your perspective. You have a value. Try to think of a future where the current sellouts have only a minority position. You can be a great asset and if you choose to sublimate your current drive for mayor for the greater good, it will not be forgotten.

Jeff, you can become a force for the change we all seek. This can become a team effort with your added efforts.

I would not be surprised if some of your supporters are using you to split the vote. This is nothing new around here.

Jeff, help us! Don't add to the efforts of splitting the vote.

You could garner more appreciation by doing this simple act and coming out in support of Cindy than anything else you do.

Such action would serve you well for years to come.

Oh well, it was worth a try to appeal to you to support the change we need.

    1. I appreciate your concern and I also have concerns. I did exactly what you said last election and 3 out of 3 candidates lost. I care more about this town than most and my actions prove it. Who's outworked me for the past 3 years? Nobody.

Let's take a look at the incumbent. What's the most important aspect about this candidate, 1. What he says, 2. His delivery style, or 3. His actions?

In my world actions speak louder than words. I don't think anybody can argue that any other civilian has shown put forth as much effort as me. I wasn't planning on running so I didn't care what I said. As soon as I decided to run I flipped a switch.

Let's be clear, I didn't get to where I am being stupid. When I was a civilian in finance, I was #1 in the country in sales for Chase & GMAC. To be able to accomplish a feat like this, you need extremely good influential speaking skills.

I absolutely believe I am going to win. I also don't believe anybody else can handle the heat. I also believe that I am the only candidate running for the community, not for my own personal interests.

That being said here's the best solution. Tony will be there at the end. Whoever has solidified their candidacy stays in place. The others must get out of the way and toss their support behind the top person.

I stood with you on Quail Gardens Dr. protesting the parking lot a couple of years ago, and your passion was evident.

    1. I'm going to explain how I believe this election should work. Cindy's camp should promote Cindy and not target me. That means I won't target back. Fair? I'm not the bad guy here. I didn't cause any of the problems. I've been trying to resolve them.

The #1 problem in Encinitas is corruption by far. Is Cindy able to argue this case? Does she have thousands of hours of research, documents, and proof to show the criminal activity? I don't think so. What does she know about the homeless? Has she met with them and can she have them show up and explain how this scam came to be?

What about crime? Is she able to prove that this administration has been hiding crime from the residents. Can she prove crime at Oakcrest? Can she prove other towns are dropping homeless off here? What has she done off record to protect this town? Did she contact the DOJ, FBI, AG, CLERB, anybody? I have, and a lot more.

The residents shouldn't be playing politics with each other. There should be one goal, to get a seat that has eluded Encinitas for how many years? I am not the same person I was 3 years ago when I was a rookie. The best minds in town trained me and then I have 3 years of battle tested fighting where I've had a big impact.

The biggest mistake we can make is to be like the monkeys in Blakespear's peanut gallery. We have to be strategic. A lot of big players have their claws hooked in Encinitas and their livelihood is tied to this town. Can she untangle the spiderweb? I can.

I think we should either meet together, have a debate, or you guys run your campaign and I'll run mine. We must both agree that whoever is ahead the other steps back and supports that person. That's the way we should be working. I absolutely believe I am going to win because I have a surf town to protect.

Something to think about. We are going to produce resumes? What a wonderful idea. Who's resume is going to compare to mine over the past 3 years? You guys have NO idea the amount of work I've done but, more importantly, some of the chess pieces I've been moving behind the scenes.

      Delete
    2. Producing resumes is called normal and a 3-year history putting in "work" doesn't count. Can't wait to see your ballot statement "I'm the only one who can fix this city. BTW I'm not in a "camp" and I'm not agreeing to anything with you. You are one scary dude and I don't mean that admiringly. Do you really expect voters to take your word to that you have "thousands" of documents of proof or are you going to put it out there in the name of transparency and let the voters wade through it (spoiler alert, they won't). Come to think of it why haven't you done anything with your overwhelming evidence? Sheesh again. SMH.

  55. Jeff has been mentioned on numerous occasions on EV when he would rant on nextdoor, facebook, etc. Many people voiced concerns about his actions and toxic things he would say. Cindy Cremona defended him and I have plenty of screenshots of that, so it will be interesting to see how she distances herself from him when they get further into their campaigns. There are posts she made in watchdog that can be construed as racist. People complain about Mali at the city council meetings, but there are some VERY disturbing posts that Cindy herself wrote about Mali, as well as posts about the homeless that show a complete lack of empathy and understanding of the complexities of homelessness.

She also once called in to the city council meeting to ask about the rumor (started by Jeff Morris) that Blakespear and Encinitas were looking into buying a hotel for the homeless.

    1. You're an idiot for believing Jeff's claim.
    2. Do you actually want to help the homeless? People complain there is no shelter here, but then complain when they hear there are being efforts made. (unfortunately, it was not true)
    3. I saw you and Jef rant and rant and rant about the homeless in hotels. What's funny is Kristin Gaspar was also in your group while you ranted, and she never spoke up and corrected you that she was part of the reason they were in hotels. Encinitas provided vouchers for a limited time, but the COUNTY (and Gaspar was supervisor) did the rest. They COUNTY housed them in hotels and continued to do so and Blakespear had nothing to do with it. But you don't understand what does and does not fall under the mayor's purview.

You can see a direct correlation between things posted in Watchdog and Cindy Cremona's frequent addresses to the council. She won't be able to get the stink of that hateful group off her. And there's plenty of screenshots to have printed on mailers....this is going to be fun.

Total textbook narcissist language: "I alone can fix this", "No one else has my skill", "I'm the only..." ect.

He's gonna split the vote and the incumbent will win.

Cindy's best strategy should be to distance herself from Jeff as much as possible. She doesn't have to diss him completely, just say she can see he is very passionate, but that she does not agree with his methods.

Honestly, there are a lot of red flags in his rants. EncinitasWatchdog.com has some posts where he has singled out private citizens because he believes they are involved in corruption and his posts about a lot of these people are very disturbing...digging into their pasts, connecting dots that aren;t there, or posting pictures of citizens who speak at city council meetings and asking people for info about them

Jeff: they are citizens to and they had every right to speak at city council meetings without you acting like a goon, posting pictures of them, drawing red circles around their faces, this in in "investigating" this is BULLYING! Do you not see how your behavior can be disturbing to some people? Please, please, please channel your energy into getting some therapy. Sounds like you had a lot of trauma in your early life and you want to do good in your community, but the way you attack people is going too far. I've seen people simply voice an opinion - which they have every right do do - and then, boom! You are posting about them, mentioning them in videos and calling them a liar and they did nothing other than what YOU do yourself: speak their mind.

GROW UP. You act like you are the only one who has concerns and should be able to voice them.

If people don't agree with you, that doesn't mean they are a shill, on the take, or a bad person involved in corruption. They are just a person with a different point of view.

  66. Not that my opinion matters much. But after reading the article on Coast News, here is what I see.

I don't know Cindy, never met her. But from what she said in the interview with Coast News, every answer sounded like an answer that a politician would give. Nothing was clear and there seems to be no plan that is unique. Just talking points. And then there is this: "Cremona also argued that Encinitas also needs to prioritize investment in affordable housing to a greater extent in order to combat the growing homelessness issue." There is no correlation between housing costs and homelessness. Homelessness is caused by a number of factors, but housing costs is not one of them. Nearly 1 in 6 live near the poverty line in California. If housing costs were the problem, we would have a much higher rate of homelessness then we have. I think it is very important to understand that point moving forward in California. We will NOT fix homelessness if we don't come to terms with that. We will just continue to throw money at it.

As for Tony, well; Dude has been on the City Council for a long time. But I think one statement in the article tells you all you need to know about him and what he has become in his time under Blakespear. And that is: “Transparency has always been an issue for me.." Now I know that I am cutting that quote short, but I really believe that that is all you need to understand about who Tony has become. And that is, that he is a Politician, nothing more. It would have been an easy win for Tony if he would have just shown us that he has some guts. In a town the size of Encinitas, it's not always important to be right as a council member - especially when you will be out voted regardless. But I believe that it is important to show that you will fight for what is best for our town. And Tony has shown that he is not interested in fighting.

Now for Jeff. Jeff is the only one that I do know. He was one of the first folks to reach out to me when I started speaking out about what I was seeing in my part of town. He got a hold of me, we talked for a few hours. He could not have been nicer to me. He explained his background and his upbringing. Jeff is not a politician, he is a man that has made his own way in life and did so when all of the chips were stacked against him. Is he abrasive at times? Absolutely. But fighting for what you believe in often times comes off as abrasive regardless of who you are. But he also obviously cares deeply about this community. It is why he came here in the first place. Jeff listens. He cares. And he will fight for this community. When it comes to the idea of Homelessness, I think he understands a lot of the complexities of homelessness because of his upbringing.

We are at a turning point for Encinitas. Do we elect another politician who sees being Mayor as a jumping off point for a new career? Or do we elect someone who cares about this town and is willing to fight for it? I think the answer is pretty clear.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jeff is not just abrasive. He is dangerously ignorant of how things work and will not be able to get a fraction of what he is promising to do, done.

You never met Cindy, are ignorant of her work leading a major fight against a neighborhood-destroying high density project in Leucadia, volunteering with others across town on their issues, but you judge her based on how she expressed herself from a single newspaper article.

JStuber I encourage you to do your homework. Jeff's bravado may seem attractive when you have had it up to *here* but beyond making a lot of noise he is entirely ignorant on the topics that respondents to his Facebook poll said mattered most to them. Hint: it's not the homeless and it's not corruption.

So why did he ignore the input he solicited? He's five minutes into his campaign and is already ignoring the voters. He's gonna take it in the direction he personally wants to go. Just like Blakespear. You owe it to yourself to meet with all the candidates, please, then tell us who you like and why.

This is about Encintas. Look at the results. Who's had more impact on this community, Jeff or Cindy? These guys pretended to be "cool Encinitas protectors" but now look. Is this what we want?

This election is going to be a dog fight. Where's Cindy? She's using the same attack techniques as Blakespear. Just remember, they started this. Encintas needs it's best fighter to stave off bad people like this who are a cancer to the community.

Everyone else is in the wrong but you? You are paranoid, create conspiracy theories and delusions. You've even claimed the CRC is evil and they make it their mission to HELP. They literally just exist to help.

At some point you have to take personal responsibility. You say we don't need any more hate filled people, but you are one of the loudest people spreading hate

Cindy is a New York transplant who is relatively new on the scene. Cindy would be best suited for a supporting role(council Member), but doesn’t have the strength and personality IMO to Lead like Jeff does. Tony seems okay when people first meet him, but quickly find out that he’s a typical slippery Politician. He’s a chameleon that changes with the wind. He doesn’t have the strength to stand for anything. If Cindy is ‘Milk Toast’ then Tony is ‘Burn’t Milk Toast.’ Jeff on the other hand is anything but Milk Toast. He has the drive and Fire in his Belly to defeat the people trying to destroy Encinitas for their own personal gain. Go Jeff!

You’re evidently one of those Progressive Elitist snobs. It’s a sad commentary that you’re worried about me spelling Milk Toast the normal way rather than the fictional character of 1923. Most of us were born after 1953 when Webster died. So you’re really making yourself look dated, and it shows just how small minded you are.
