This helps Marco Gonzalez, who says he's an environmentalist, yet he's the head attorney for all the hotel and big building developers and started a Political Action Committee to raise tens of thousands for Blakespear's campaign. That seems to be a conflict of interest to me, pay to play. Then there's Scott Chatfield, Blakespear's Facebook and communications coordinator. Let's not get started on all his drama. He's the guy that rallied Tony Kranz, Shaffer and Barth into over paying for Pacific View by nearly $5 million.

The goodson ghetto apartments proposed to be built in Historic Olivenhain is a disaster. DeleteNobody is building or has built "ghetto apartments." If Goodson is built, 50 of 250 will be rented at affordable rates per the HUD-established income standards for San Diego County. Same applies to other density bonus and inclusionary units. To get the density increase, the builder has to rent or sell 15 to 20% of the units relative to the HUD income figures and what percentage of those applies to housing.

No candidate for public office can assume victory. They have to consider what they’ll do if they lose. In alphabetical order, longtime Encinitas resident Pat Dry offered these possibilities for the candidates:
Michael Blobe aka Myekah Beond
If Blobe aka Beond is in the job market after the November mayoral election or if he becomes a candidate again, it would be advisable for him to go with one name. Considering his options, it would also be advisable to provide a pronunciation guide.
Since Blobe aka Beond is a singer/songwriter, he might find an employment opportunity with Catherine Blakespear, regardless of a loss or win for her in the District 38 state Senate election.
If Blakespear loses, Blobe aka Beond could record the popular Please Cry for Me Encinitas, as seen in the March 15, 2021 post on this very blog. It’s a predictable best seller. Blobe aka Beond could also sing the song live at any public appearances Blakespear has the gall to make.
If Blakespear wins, substituting “California” for “Encinitas” in the title and lyrics would be a projection of what’s to come, while maintaining a paying opportunity for Blobe aka Beond.
Cindy Cremona
Cremona has run an executive recruiting firm for nearly 20 years. She’s been an activist in Encinitas for more than 10 years, advocating for local control and against mega-development.
Should Cremona lose the mayoral election, it’s doubtful she would become a shrinking violet. Her professional life is secure, and her public passions would continue.
Tony Kranz
If Kranz loses the mayoral election, he’ll have two years left in his City Council term. That’s assuming he survives the recall threatened on local social media, if that threat becomes action.
Should Kranz remain on the council, his role would depend on who his colleagues are and whether or not he’s still in the majority. If he is, he would continue his destructive ways and his solid record of betraying his heritage.
If Kranz is in the minority, he might as well hang up his spikes because his opponents on and off the council would render him powerless.
Either recalled or in the minority, Kranz would have more time to spend on his job as a printing broker.
Jeff Morris
In the history of Encinitas mayoral elections, Morris is the most insistent delusional candidate. In the highly unlikely event he wins, we can look forward to two years of embarrassments. His behavior would draw local, regional and maybe even national negative attention.
If Morris loses, he can continue to harass homeless people, gather phantom evidence of corruption in city government and post rants on local social media. He would hope that real estate remains a viable occupation for his spouse.
I’m a long time resident acquainted w/all candidates. My assessment:

But after Blakespear, Kranz, Hinze, and Lyndes brought other Cities and States Transients to Encinitas, who wants to walk around barefoot and run the risk of stepping on poop or needles?
CINDY CREMONA- NYC transplant hasn’t stood the test of time in our Town, and can’t be trusted. She’s lived in Encinitas 3 yrs, 8mnths, but she says 10yrs. That’s what Mali tried too, after busting into town calling everyone Racists & creating problems! Cindy’s more silent, sneaky, and evasive than Mali. But at least we know what we’re getting w/Mali (it’s not good)! But hiding things like Cindy does is worse than volatile Mali’s approach. Even Mali says, “Silence is Violence.” Was Cindy running away from something like Garvin did? She claims she has a successful recruiting company, but her website shows one employee (her). Anyone can pose and put anything they want on a website. City records indicate Jeff Morris filed first. If Cindy was a straight shooter, she would’ve told Jeff she was thinking of running since she latched onto his group. But she realized that wouldn’t have been a good look. No one knew who she was until she showed up for the 2020 infamous CC meeting, then latched onto Jeff. Yet she’s claiming she’s been an activist well before the last couple years. So don’t be surprised if she tries to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge. Encinitas has always been a family friendly Town, but Cindy isn’t a stable family person. She has no kids, & lives w/her shack up boyfriend. Thus no incentive to keep us a family friendly town. Her sidekick Susan Turney, also has no children. Susan only cares about Susan, and telling Cindy what to do.
TONY KRANZ isn’t manipulative and sneaky like Cindy, but he’s a follower and sell out. He’s almost apologetic about being so weak. He knows he’s doing the wrong thing, but can’t seem to help himself. He’s never become his own Man as he lives w/his Mother In Law, and still answers to Blakespear. But at least he’s transparent, and he and his wife have raised a nice daughter.
JEFF MORRIS- In contrast, had no one to coddle him. He’s a self-made Man w/his own home who worked his way to the American Dream. After graduating from college and marrying his college sweetheart Kim, he worked at Merrill Lynch as a Stockbroker, had a couple of successful businesses, etc. He made enough $ that he has the luxury of giving back to the Community by being Mayor. The Morris’s are long time residents w/2 college grad daughters and a son who’s about to go off to college. All have became stellar young adults, w/the morals, values and ethics the Morris’s have instilled. Jeff grew up around transients in L.A. so is passionate about the issues it creates if you enable it. As a surfer he knew the handful of local ones who hung out at Swami’s. Unlike the new ones Blakespear and CC brought, they were mostly harmless. So when Jeff discovered there was a new program through local non-profits, he volunteered to help. This is how he began to uncover and unravel the scam and corruption. There was too much $ to be made off Sacramento $ grabs for them to want to fix anything. That’s why it’s called the Industrial Homeless Complex. Jeff like many of us doesn’t believe enticing transients from other Cites and States to come here is a fair, compassionate solution, for them, or for us. Many bring substance abuse, drug addiction and crime. Being a long time surfer, Jeff wants to stop the Stack & Packs and keep our beach charm. Being a parent he wants to keep Encinitas family friendly, and restore safety, for our kids and grandkids. He’ll bring crime levels back down to levels from before Blakespear threw us under the bus. Jeff’s the most honest and driven of any current candidate. He’s the right person at the right time.

Batteries in electric cars. So, in a round about way...they own Tesla. Now, people are buying Tesla's made in china, using materials mined in china.

I watched the whole four hours and saw nothing that supported the builders contentions that this was a viable project.
