when catherine praised him in a newsletter, it was several years ago and, yes, he seemed a bit off at the time, but to be fair, she was just thanking a volunteer and could not have realized how much more disturbed he would grow over time. Why should she apologize for his actions? He is not part of her campaign, and he wasn't part of her last mayoral campaign either. He volunteered for earlier campaigns and made it into one newsletter several years ago, but he hasn't been a part of any of her recent campaigns. I will add that I agree with 9:33. Cremona has written and done things that I think she'll regret once the election really gets going. The people adding anti-Morris comments are pro-Cremona, and nothing more.
There is simply no disputing that Jeff Morris is a mentally unstable imbecile. Qualities that certainly aren't rare in politics but no matter how hard his enabling wife attempts to steer him, crazy and stupid is all he will ever be. Right now Jeff and Kim are dreading the upcoming disclosure as he raised laughably little money and has no support outside of the lunatic fringe. The real fireworks will begin when he starts getting publicly attacked with negative ads and goes ballistic. While the local paper has spent years deliberately ignoring his antics, the regional media is going to eat up the spectacle and push him over the edge. In November he will receive a little over one hundred votes independent of his waffling claims to ultimately be in or out of the race. In the end he and his family become pariahs. Once their son graduates they will move elsewhere to escape the negative attention with an excuse about wanting to be closer to the kid in college.
Cindy Cremona is going to be the next Mayor. It will be a decent race between her and Kranz but she will come out ahead by about five percent. The few votes that Morris and Blobe siphon off won't matter and the idea of a vote split is wasted concern. For her first time out, the Cremona campaign is firing on all cylinders. She has already shown to be a great fundraiser and campaigner, two skills that Kranz is thoroughly lacking. There are far too many issues that can be blamed on the current council regardless of it being their fault or not. Cremona ultimately wins because people are unhappy with the state of things and are seeking a change. Unfortunately none of the issues Cremona is pushing will really change due to her leadership or the new council majority but that's politics. For the next few years they will get away with blaming the previous administration and things outside of their control with just enough feel good promises kept, regardless of the repercussions. Ultimately a number of issues will improve but it will be primarily due to the passage of time and changes outside of their control, not the new council.
Julie Thunder will easily defeat Joy Lyndes but is going to take significant reputation damage in the process. The Lyndes campaign is a joke and will never overcome the Thunder name recognition or the Blakespear baggage. However at least two scandals will explode after Julie takes office. One she thinks people don't know about, the other she likely doesn't even realize yet. Many will call for her resignation and she will narrowly escape a recall but ultimately will ride it out and finish her term as a one and done elected official. She will confide to insiders that she only really wanted to fix the items on her short list and wasn't in it for the long haul anyway.
Bruce Ehlers will absolutely crush Blakespear prop Pamela Redela with more than a twenty point spread. Expect a lot of drama as Ehlers by the book style shakes things up at city hall. A huge number of city staff will be moving on and it's going to be quite messy for several years as things get sorted. The only reason it doesn't go completely off the rails is due to the deliberate slow walking of nearly all city business. Cremona will get the credit for much of what Ehlers accomplishes regarding cleaning house.
Hinze will largely fall in line voting with the new council majority and won't run again. Kranz will become part of the new majority on voting and after some soul searching seek re-election but his heart won't be in it. He will lose to a candidate far better positioned and qualified than Alex Riley was.
Parting note on Jeff. He's too stubborn and spent too many years making excuses to accept that counseling and medication can manage the bulk of his issues. If he got the help he so clearly needs, he will regret not having done it a long time ago.
You forgot the part where everyone gets even more pissed off at Gonzalez for suing the new majority over and over again and walking away with tons of taxpayer $$$$$$.

6:07, please. Jeff boasts he's lived her for decades, but was MIA in his gated community until the homeless parking lot triggered him 2 or 3 years ago, big deal. He volunteered for earlier campaigns and made it into one newsletter several years ago, but he hasn't been a part of any of her recent campaigns. He's a weird loner who writes letters to the newspapaer, constantly emails every city council member and has an obsession with campaign signage. But he's a grown man acting of his own accord and she has nothing to do with him. That's not his fault, it's ok not to know something. Where he went wrong was never slowing down and taking the time to learn. DeleteThere is simply no disputing that Jeff Morris is a mentally unstable imbecile. Qualities that certainly aren't rare in politics but no matter how hard his enabling wife attempts to steer him, crazy and stupid is all he will ever be. Right now Jeff and Kim are dreading the upcoming disclosure as he raised laughably little money and has no support outside of the lunatic fringe. The real fireworks will begin when he starts getting publicly attacked with negative ads and goes ballistic. While the local paper has spent years deliberately ignoring his antics, the regional media is going to eat up the spectacle and push him over the edge. In November he will receive a little over one hundred votes independent of his waffling claims to ultimately be in or out of the race. In the end he and his family become pariahs. Once their son graduates they will move elsewhere to escape the negative attention with an excuse about wanting to be closer to the kid in college.
ReplyDeleteCindy Cremona is going to be the next Mayor. It will be a decent race between her and Kranz but she will come out ahead by about five percent. The few votes that Morris and Blobe siphon off won't matter and the idea of a vote split is wasted concern. For her first time out, the Cremona campaign is firing on all cylinders. She has already shown to be a great fundraiser and campaigner, two skills that Kranz is thoroughly lacking. There are far too many issues that can be blamed on the current council regardless of it being their fault or not. Cremona ultimately wins because people are unhappy with the state of things and are seeking a change. Unfortunately none of the issues Cremona is pushing will really change due to her leadership or the new council majority but that's politics. For the next few years they will get away with blaming the previous administration and things outside of their control with just enough feel good promises kept, regardless of the repercussions. Ultimately a number of issues will improve but it will be primarily due to the passage of time and changes outside of their control, not the new council.
Julie Thunder will easily defeat Joy Lyndes but is going to take significant reputation damage in the process. The Lyndes campaign is a joke and will never overcome the Thunder name recognition or the Blakespear baggage. However at least two scandals will explode after Julie takes office. One she thinks people don't know about, the other she likely doesn't even realize yet. Many will call for her resignation and she will narrowly escape a recall but ultimately will ride it out and finish her term as a one and done elected official. She will confide to insiders that she only really wanted to fix the items on her short list and wasn't in it for the long haul anyway.
Bruce Ehlers will absolutely crush Blakespear prop Pamela Redela with more than a twenty point spread. Expect a lot of drama as Ehlers by the book style shakes things up at city hall. A huge number of city staff will be moving on and it's going to be quite messy for several years as things get sorted. The only reason it doesn't go completely off the rails is due to the deliberate slow walking of nearly all city business. Cremona will get the credit for much of what Ehlers accomplishes regarding cleaning house.
Hinze will largely fall in line voting with the new council majority and won't run again. Kranz will become part of the new majority on voting and after some soul searching seek re-election but his heart won't be in it. He will lose to a candidate far better positioned and qualified than Alex Riley was.
Parting note on Jeff. He's too stubborn and spent too many years making excuses to accept that counseling and medication can manage the bulk of his issues. If he got the help he so clearly needs, he will regret not having done it a long time ago.

ReplyDelete6:07, please. Jeff boasts he's lived her for decades, but was MIA in his gated community until the homeless parking lot triggered him 2 or 3 years ago, big deal. He started watchdog as a call to action for extremists who don't do squat but feel excited listening to Jeff' police scanner reports and mistake that for doing something. Don't call that an accomplishment. How come Jeff's campaign strategy is to trash talk his opponent while offering nothing other than empty boasts? And how is it that anyone finds that admirable?

Stop talking in generalities. Be specific. What are Jeff plans? Why is the the best person for the job? Can you tell us without bashing nonprofits? Can you tell us without using narcissistic phrases to describe yourself?
Jeff has a way better cutback than either Tony or Cindy. He's going to protect Swami's, which is at the top of everyone's list of important city priorities. If you don't agree, maybe you should leave, kook.

That's the problem with Encinitas Votes members. They think a facebook group is important. Who cares if he posts emojis in his comments there? Emojis are available on the facebook platform for us all to use, but you shouldn't use them if you have a job in politics? You really want to start policing how others should use social media.
