Arrest made in campaign sign vandalism spree

Union-Tribune:
A 62-year-old woman was arrested earlier this week after someone used black spray paint to deface about 55 campaign signs in support of an Encinitas City Council candidate.

The Sheriff’s Department said it arrested Encinitas resident Teresa Conkey on Monday on felony suspicion of vandalism. The signs were from the campaign of Dan Vaughn, one of four candidates for the council’s District 4 seat in the Nov. 8 election.

Meanwhile the Morris duo are completely silent on Conkey and instead seem to have pivoted to setting up Jeff to pull out of debates.

  2. In August, Tracy Conkey hosted a Thunder meet and greet at her house, she is also a member of Watchdogs and is a hardcore Jeff Morris supporter, which is why Jeff is so quiet about this. Tracy was with Kim and Jeff at the Olivenhain Oktoberfest this weekend right after she committed her felony acts of vandalism.

Let’s shut down this whole stupid low ridership Polluting train until the long time planned high-speed rail is built to the east of us in the I 15 alignment. End the low rider ship Coaster service now. How much does that coaster service cost the taxpayers per year is it 20 million or 40 million? I think it’s over 40 million.
And I saw some document that said it’s burning over 1,000,000 gallons of diesel fuel per year with all that spent fuel being inhaled by our children in adjacent schools

There’s no need for the stretch of railroad on the beach between Torrey Pines and Oceanside.. they should cancel it until the I 15 alignment is complete.

So I don’t care what you say about Bob, that guys hero in my book. Besides I think he’s a good guy.

They were caught over billing him by tens of thousand of dollars, misdirecting his thousands in donations and placing them in the General Fund. So yea, I’d be verbally harassing, abusive, threatening, whatever you wanna call it if that happened to me as well. Blakespear and Kranz did nothing to rectify the issue when city staffers were caught with their hands in Bob’s cookie jar. So can’t say I don’t blame Bob for wanting some revenge on Blakespear and Kranz and so far he’s serving it up. I’m rooting for Cremona, Thunder, Ehlers, Gunderson and Bob.

    8. Bob and his wife should be pissed at the City's administration who treated them and their Surfing Madonna charity like shit. Over-charged the charity, then when called out on it, decided to pull their permit and kill the annual event that helped severely disabled kids experience the joy of riding on a wave. Who would side with the City's decision of greed and power over the kind works of the Surfing Madonna. The city's hit squad tried to paint the charity as self-serving, but as you can see from the The iPalpiti Festival debacle the City's power mongers are bad actors "due to alleged mistreatment of program organizers and musicians by the city’s staff and newly-appointed arts administrator."

"Director Laura Schmieder informed city leaders the iPalpiti Artists International nonprofit is officially terminating its 10-year run citing a number of grievances in a Sept. 1 letter addressed to Mayor Catherine Blakespear, City Manager Pamela Antil, Arts and Culture Manager Travis Karlen and Encinitas Friends of the Arts."

"...Schmeider said that a change in leadership and “unwelcome” treatment by staff as “a summer camp nuisance” led to the decision to leave."

Bob was also part of the original installation of the iconic Surfing Madonna, and continues to help his long time friend and Surfing Madonna creator-artist Mark Patterson through his debilitating disease. Bob is a cool dude and deserves to be heard, still very active in seeing this paradise returned to its state of chill, safe surf and art town.

  39. Blakespear's flyers contain lies about Gunnderson. One employee lawsuit against Matt occurred because the employee lied on his job application and did not reveal that he was a registered sex offender. After he was let go, a lawyer thought he could make money on this situation. In contrast, Blakespear fought for a spot zoning project in Cardiff to allow for applicants to have events for children in a residential area. The spot zoning on its own was illegal, but Blakespear did not reveal that the applicant's brother-in-law, a Mr. Hornbeck, was a register sex offender whose victim was a child. To me, I support the guy who chooses to get rid of a sex offender when he lied over a Mayor who fought to illegally spot zone a property for childrens' parties with a family member next door who is a registered sex offender. Despite her fight to expose our children to a potentially dangerous situations, Blakespear has made many public comments about threats that she personally has received. It is not right for anyone to be put into a dangerous situation or for public figures to be threatened. It is the level of hypocrisy and the lack of compassion for other peoples' children over he own political ambitions that I find totally unacceptable. She uses people and situations to her own benefit and advancement and thinks that nobody is watching.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Where's the proof of your claim that Blakespear "fought illegally to spot zone a property for childrens' parties with a family member next door who is a registered sex offender."

And if what you say is true about ONE time he was sued by a sex offender, that should be verifiable. But what about the employees who sued because he did not allow for proper breaks and created an intolerable work environment?

      Delete
    2. That’s weirdly specific. Were you that sex offender?

      Delete
    3. 1:31, yes, Using Marco Gonzalez's logic for the crappy developers who he represents, this spot zoning WAS illegal! Blakespear was representing the applicant pro bono, and among other activities, they wanted to use the property for after school programs and other activities for children. The spot zoning was found illegal since both Barth and Shaffer and other council members voted down the change that they were hoping to make to boost Blakespear in her first run for council. When they heard about the next-door registered sex offender, they decided not to approve this spot zoning. This happened during one of the times that Blakespear still had standing as a lawyer, prior to the three times that she let her license go. She most recently let her license lapse since January of this year.
Blakespear could easily have appealed the decision and taken it to Superior Court, but that would have meant that she would have to sue the City that she was hoping to serve, and it might have been hard to find a sympathetic judge to overlook the neighbors' complaints about the registered sex offender having close access to children on the property. Instead of suing the City, she has sued Encinitas residents--twice--and lied about it. Are these the priorities that most people support?

    Tony says bring it on

Elpaso get the word out Encinitas once all of the people coming in. Get the word out. Tony says bring them to Encinitas!!!!

Plenty of room here. We can upsize to ten to 50 story buildings. Many west spectacular ocean views. Bring it and thank you Tony Kranz.

  60. Tony Kranz is definitely on to something. I am so glad Tony made Encinitas an open and welcoming city. I so look forward to masses of new neighbors that we get to enjoy. I especially love people with zero means. They have such interesting stories and they smell so interesting when you clean them up and can calm them down enough to tell their story in a safe environment.

Let’s take $1 million of that $7 million dollars that was budgeted for the totally unnecessary Pacific view upgrade to a watercoloring station by the beach for tony’s Janet friends, and put it towards a greater good to help the world homeless and drug attics.

Think of the amazing campaign that we could do for $1 million focused on Elpaso and all the other border cities. Let’s do this!!

    1. Instead of Leucadia- a sheltered place…. Leucadia - a crowded loud sketchy place….

      Delete
  62. Shhhh……

Hear that? No not the birds chirping….

No that….. it’s the distance rumble of the ocean. What else do you hear? …..

Wow. This morning is absolutely amazing. It’s what Leucadia and Encinitas were meant to be…. Leucadia a sheltered place. Encinitas town of little oaks. What vision do you get when you read the meanings of these towns? To me it instills a senses peace or peacefulness. Some might say Zen.

So why was this morning so special and great?

Well first off it’s Sunday. A day to appreciate the moment and enjoy life. But that’s every Sunday.

The difference with this Sunday is ….the Coaster service and other trains are not running and therefore we enjoy blissful silence. Silence to enjoy peace. Peace that allows us to sleep. And peace that allows us to think calm positive thoughts.

So how could we have more days like today and yesterday and our future?

By electing people the complete opposite of Tony Kranz.

Tony Kranz has done every action during his last 10 years to make our sheltered place a complete disastrous loud shit show.

I won’t go into his approving high density housing as he opposes it in other areas like Encinitas ranch or Olivenhain or Cardiff.

I won’t go into that he took an area for a coaster rail trail and converted it to a private parking lot which is used for drug attic‘s, contractors to stage their operations and storage area and, boat storage, shit show, dusty sketchy area instead of a nice rail trail like Mayor Blakespear had installed in her neighborhood.

I won’t go into that Tony Kranz lead the effort when he was chair at NCTD’s to install fencing and cut off access to our beaches and local shops. Yeah it’s not that big of a deal to him considering he doesn’t like to exercise much, but many in his neighborhood liked to walk to the beach and shops and get out and enjoy the community. By putting in Tony‘s fence, now people cannot longer walk and they need to drive in their cars an extra mile or two to visit a local store or go to the beach.

I won’t go into the fact that Tony approves high density housing and then leaves completely sketchy conditions along streets like Vulcan Avenue and LaCosta Avenue with horrible bumpy and ugly road conditions. traffic jam, and no place to walk or ride a bike safely.

Let’s just focus on Tony‘s inability to implement a quiet zone while other cities like Solana Beach, San Diego, part of our city down in Cardiff under Mayor Blakespear‘s leader ship, Oceanside, and San Clemente, all implemented quiet zones while Tony did nothing to do a quiet zone in Encinitas or Leucadia.

That’s right, Tony used his time while he was chair at NCTD for 10 years to focus putting up fencing and increasing train horn noise by 30% instead of working towards getting a quiet zone and safer conditions for all.

So as you enjoy this super peaceful weekend, please get out and tell 10 of your voting friends that Tony Kranz is the reason why most days don’t seem as nice as today.

My question is is why aren’t some of the really good local reporters that we have reporting on this story about how Tony and NCTD are pushing a completely wasteful train service that waste millions and millions of tax dollars on a super low rider ship train that causes so much unmitigated collateral damage?

He knows himself how much damage he has done, because in December of this last year Tony Kranz fired himself from the chair position of NCTD. Reporters – please check it out. This is a completely interesting easy story about how Leucadia went from a sheltered place to a loud polluted sketchy area under Tony Kranz’s decisions and actions while in office. Or simply investigate why we have this completely wasteful coaster service when the service should be cut back or likely terminated and definitely not increased with more of the negative pollutants and including horn blasting. Calling all good reporters if there are any left.

Enjoy your peaceful Sunday….Ommm, peace, and amen…..

Rightfully so. Because you have made a lot of misery for a lot of people. You have caused a lot of damage Tony.

People don’t like to have their pathways fenced off. People don’t like to live next to three story buildings block their sunlight and having apartment dwellers yelling at them that they never had before. People don’t like things being stolen from their front yard which never happened before you increased all this density.

It’s extremely slow and that’s why no one rides it and it’s polluting our coastline with noise, spent diesel fumes, The railroad berms rob our beaches of sand and plug up our lagoons full of sand, The stations are sketchy and no one wants to be around those areas anyway, the operations are totally unreliable and that’s why nobody is riding them, it’s super expensive to operate and has a gigantic subsidy of over $100 per passenger ride, and it’s a huge waste of tax dollars with the operating budget in the tens of millions of dollars per year.
