Why has Kranz not been able to deliver a quiet zone to Leucadia? For those living west of the 5, that is a very signifcant quality of life matter. Kranz has done less than nothing with this topic. Not only has he not worked on making the La Costa to Encinitas corridor a quiet zone, he's not asked SANDAG or the Federal Government for funds to deliver a quiet zone, trench tracks or do anthing else to improve the quality of life for the residents of Leucadia. HI everyone. I moved to where the train is. Now I complain each day of train noise. Then I complain more and more not wanting to know the train has been on the same route for 100 years. I'm convince everyone is insane except me.

When I moved about a half mile away from the tracks or about 10 trans a day. With Tony leader ship that went up to about 40- 50 trains a day. The fourth Way back in the 80s and 90s thought the train line might be a affective public transit option. As it turns out it’s much too slow due to all the stops and its track alignment is in a horrific location on the beach which causes a lot of problems for the coastline and it’s inhabitants.
Since 2015, the train ridership was going down and down and down and then after Covid it was 90% down and never came back much.
So, now we have a super low rider ship commuter train with no riders. it burns on highly carcinogenic Diesel fuel which has proven to give people cancer. And the train blows it’s diesel fumes right next to elementary schools and all the residents for us to inhale and deal with those carcinogens. Not even to mention the huge negative impacts from the noise on public Health and well-being.
So Mr. uninformed resident, why don’t you ask Cardiff residents if a quieter zone was at worthy project, or San Clemente, Solana Beach, Oceanside or San Diego residents?

Why has Kranz not been able to deliver a quiet zone to Leucadia? For those living west of the 5, that is a very signifcant quality of life matter. Kranz has done less than nothing with this topic. Not only has he not worked on making the La Costa to Encinitas corridor a quiet zone, he's not asked SANDAG or the Federal Government for funds to deliver a quiet zone, trench tracks or do anthing else to improve the quality of life for the residents of Leucadia. His rubber stamping of mixed-use, three-story buildings along the 101 is not an accomplishment. It is pathetic sell-out to old-encinitas and developer carpetbaggers. Kranz has been a sub-standard representative (really crappy) for Leucadia.

When I moved about a half mile away from the tracks or about 10 trans a day. With Tony leader ship that went up to about 40- 50 trains a day. The fourth Way back in the 80s and 90s thought the train line might be a affective public transit option. As it turns out it’s much too slow due to all the stops and its track alignment is in a horrific location on the beach which causes a lot of problems for the coastline and it’s inhabitants.
Since 2015, the train ridership was going down and down and down and then after Covid it was 90% down and never came back much.
So, now we have a super low rider ship commuter train with no riders. it burns on highly carcinogenic Diesel fuel which has proven to give people cancer. And the train blows it’s diesel fumes right next to elementary schools and all the residents for us to inhale and deal with those carcinogens. Not even to mention the huge negative impacts from the noise on public Health and well-being.
So Mr. uninformed resident, why don’t you ask Cardiff residents if a quieter zone was at worthy project, or San Clemente, Solana Beach, Oceanside or San Diego residents?
Meanwhile for the rest of us, enjoy the peace today because tomorrow Tony’s empty noise and pollution machines will be back wasting millions of dollars a taxpayer money.

No surprise there Tony. They were about 10 or 11 about 10 years ago and no one‘s rides on them so you want to put 10 times the amount with 100 empty polluting diesel burning trains a day on the track. What a great idea.

Poor old train guy, the brain damage is obvious. Repetition daily and not realizing it is a symptom he should pay attention to and get some help, if not for himself, then for his family and neighbors. We get it. We got it the first time. The entertainment value is long gone, if there was any to begin with.
ReplyDeleteYou chose to live by the tracks. I have lived next to the tracks in the past and sort of got used to it. I live just east of the 5 and can hear the train horns at all hours, not just at night when it is generally quieter.
That our city has never pursued lowering the tracks like Solana Beach did and Carlsbad is doing, demands a significant change in leadership. Ten years is enough for any council member and too long for a few. Time for new blood and a new majority or else nothing will change and many have had more than enough of this current majority. \
Maybe it is just me. I believed our new candidates could unite in a concerted effort for the majority we desperately need to change to occur. So much for that dream. We will get what we don't deserve with this failure to unite for the greater good.
Yeah 10 trains was not a big deal and did you get kind of used to it. Not that big of a deal for me living about a half mile away, but I feel sorry for those tens of thousands of people that live closer to the tracks

He got the endorsement of Carl Demiao, far right radio talk show host, then lost it when Demiao was informed of Jeff's arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, and battery, his claim to be a life long democrat, and his long history of abusing women.
He lies and continues to say he has never been in trouble with the law.
He continues to say he has a college degree. He does not.
He says he's retired, but is making lots of money. I f living off his wifes paycheck is considered "making money", then sure he is.

Your argument about it being too early is hollow, b/c she just dodged debating Jeff again w/the latest debate done by Coast News. She indicated she was afraid of debating Jeff, forcing Coast News to not have all 4 candidates together at the same time. I don’t want a weak Mayor that’s afraid of people. Kranz is weak too.
