Kranz claims Public Records request when sharing sensitive constituent information with political fixer; city says no such request

  1. Is this the same Susan Turney who admitted to violating election laws THIRTEEN times?

“Also named in the complaint are the committee's former principal officer, Ms. Susan Turney, and the committee's former treasurer, Mr. Oliver Canler. The civil judgment requires that Encinitas Project - Committee For Proposition A, Ms. Turney and Mr. Canler admit to thirteen violations of the Political Reform Act and agree to pay a fine”

I don’t trust someone with that record.

  2. Not even a nice try. Little wonder why there is so little trust around here with our elected's, or their tools in tow.

Is that you Margo? Definitely a low enough move for you to keep up your exalted position in the eyes of residents who actually care and fight for the preservation of this once special community. Scummy as always.

    2. People always dragging me into things I have nothing to do with! Regardless, I don't understand how someone who's been involved as long as Susan has would expect that emails sent to an elected official to be kept confidential. Seems like it's just more of the same from the "anti-everything" crowd...

    3. Anti-everything meaning like a 50 year old married guy with kids hunting, young women beginning their careers?

Even that kind of anti-everything? Does your sister like that kind of anti-guy? What kind of message is that sending to the family?

I wonder how the Fletcher-Gonzalez family feels about the me too movement?

      Smooth segue.

I bet you can transition any subject to Nathan Fletcher to annoy Marco.

      Try this one:

Drafted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Magna Carta, a royal charter of rights, was agreed to by King John of England at Runnymede, near Windsor, on 15 June 1215. . .

      That’s what I would do.

It’s just going to get worse. Trying to learn a little bit from your friend Jeff Morris who got you elected. It’s all downhill from here TONY. The longer you wait in your cesspool that you created, the worse it’s going to get..

  6. The thing is Garvin never asked for the email. So, the question remains "Why did Kranz sent it to him even before he sent it to the Sheriff?" Jeff Morris has been after many older women in the past and both Susan and Liv have been targets of his nastiness. Kranz knew this and yet he didn't just send it on to the Sheriff, which would have made sense, but sent it to Garvin Walsh who is just an ordinary citizen. And, for the record, I doubt if Marco had anything to do with this particular issue. This is on Kranz.

    ReplyDelete

    1. 2:24 as if the sheriff was unaware that psycho Jeff is an issue in the community? He has been reported by many. Who knows, Kranz may have previously reported him himself. Jeff has a fragile ego and attacks anyone who he perceives as a threat. The email wasn’t confidential. What’s the big deal? Seems it is being made an issue by the same little bitches that have been complaining about Kranz since before he was elected. You people are really grasping, just looking for opportunities to complain. Get an f’ing life. It is pathetic.

    2. The point isn’t Susan, or Marco, or even Jeff. The point is the mayor of our city broke protocol and then lied about it. Not illegal, but it certainly puts his judgement into question as well as his relationship with unelected citizens.

It also puts into bright light the rumors of him, Garvin and Julie conspiring to put Jeff in as the spoiler so Tony would win.

Let’s face it, Tony didn’t campaign. Jeff did his dirty work for him and Julie helped him. Garvin, the self proclaimed provocateur was in the background meddling away.

This city is full of unethical people pointing lots of fingers at each other. Until the trash is taken out, it will never change.

And now that I know it exists, I can CPRA request it, so that I can publish it online in its entirety, including what you describe as “sensitive attachments.”

Thank you for exposing your friend in a way that she wasn’t exposed 24 hours ago.

  8. I would like to know if Garvin ever made a PRA for psycho Jeff records, and if so, when.

I can see a potential scenario where he made a request in April or May and the city had already sent him all responsive documents. This would close out that CPRA transaction. There’s no such thing as a prospective or standing request for future documents. So it could be technically correct that there was no currently open CPRA request pending, but Tony may not have been aware that the earlier request had been closed.

It’s also possible that Tony confused who made the request. There may have been an open PRA pending for records related to psycho Jeff, but not by Garvin.

Both scenarios would explain why Tony would reference a PRA in his forward.

But if neither of those was the case, then Tony probably was being shady with his cheeky PRA comment. The dumb thing is, he didn’t have to be. There’s no reason for it. He can forward if he wants.

If content in a group goes against our Community Standards, we take it down. But if admins create or approve posts that don't follow the rules, that’s considered more serious and can put the group at risk for restrictions.' Willow and others were on a quest to show how wrong it was to have any kids exposed to transgender issues and had some pretty dicey videos to show. I don't know if this happened to the group, but it may have. Since the group isn't down, maybe FB gave them a time out.

    4. The Trans panic is so dumb.

It’s a tiny proportion of the population and affects their life not at all.

Didn’t they learn anything from the gay rights issue, which they lost? The lesson was: leave them alone; it’s none of your business; treat them with all the rights and respect of any other human being.

They lost that issue. But instead of reflecting on it, they pivot to the next group to demonize and deny rights.

And they are going to lose again, because that’s how progress works.

  15. OK thank you Susan for airing the LIAR Tony Kranz for all to see.

Maybe Tony and Nathan Fletcher should search within to find the meaning of virtue and internal peace? Maybe?

Well other than that bombshell there were many interesting points to this last City Council meeting. Staff blew through a report on failed maintenance on storm drains which caused a huge increase in budget needs from $1,000,0000 to well over $3,000,000 and climbing with no end in sight considering they haven't even discussed with the City Council or the public the estimated cost for replacing the huge rusted metal storm drain pipe at the bottom of their $3 million + hilliside repair due to failed maintenance to the lagoon which is over 1/2 mile away.... this alone will cost many millions and will come with likely fines for failing to maintain infrastructure and harming our open space and precious lagoon by filling both with massive sediment and causing unnecessary erosion.

Then all the budget items got skipped over because everyone is tired of how long the damn meeting are due to Tony bringing in "presentations" to try and set a positive mood for the meeting, but in reality they are a huge waste of time. (hint to Tony- ain't working.🤣)

If i wanted to learn about acidification of the ocean and other environmental issues, I would either google them or take a class at MiraCosta.... then we have staff lifeguards with an infomercial and pushing the city council to hire more workfare life guard positions that have zero benefits to the tax payers......whats next, the virtues of finger painting, presented by friends of the second community center by the beach.

A second real hero of the meeting was Mr. Allan Bergman starting at minute 30:22 here-

    https://encinitas.granicus.com/player/clip/2983

This was so spot on and educational all with a light hearted fact filled approach. Well done! I bet this gentleman is a graduate of SDA with those awesome theater and presentation skills.

You know is good because watch the gal with the mustache behind the staff presentation table... she gets all worked up and is probably pissed because she missed the free six months of Disney Plus.

Sooo good. I've watched it three times and laugh every time. Its awesome. Those I have shared it with, respond with great thanks. This guy could be on SNL.

For example we have some famous residents who live in Encinitas, but the Privacy Act of 1974 protects their address from being publicly distributed by government. That’s just one example, but there’s a whole list of items that fall under the privacy act, including when personal safety becomes an issue.

Tony should have known better, especially when the subject is Jeff Morris who is currently under investigation and has a TRO on him.

  21. Wouldn't Tony have to make a public request to see the records as well? Just because he's the Mayor doesn't mean that all public records fly across his desk. So, he obviously requested records regarding Susan and Vivian, then sent them out to Garvin. That or someone in the records department thought Tony would be interested in the emails and sent them to him. It's almost as if the City Council has bullseye marks over Susan and Vivian.

    2. 11:39 a lot of people send city council emails. The difference is, City Council isn't suppose to send public records out without there being a request. Furthermore, the Clerk in the records office is suppose to send records out at the request of the individual. Council isn't supposed to take it upon themselves to send records out, especially when no formal request was made.

This is also a violation of the 1974 Privacy Act.

It's apparent Tony has no regard for the safety or privacy of his constituents and will go out of his way to send certain community members emails regarding other residents.

  40. the point Lorri Greene is missing is that Mark Dice has appeared before the city council many many times, so when he talked, Tony knew exactly who he was and that this was a ridiulous schtick, so when he said "it was a fine example of someone exercising their first amendment rights", Tony was making a tongue-in-cheek comment about a ludicrous, homophobic display by Dice. Lorri Greene and Mary Fleener did not have prior knowledge of this guy, so missed the nuance in Tony's comment. But believe me, the city council members who also served last year are painfully familiar, having had to sit through this guy's nonsense. No one condones this guy. He's a ridiculous conspiracy theorist. Tony was in no way condoning his remarks, but merely stating that while his statements are deplorable, he has a first amendment right to do this nonsense

If the Council knew about this guy, whether you like him or not, Tony, or a council member could have said something. Before he spoke, the guy pulled me aside and said he doesn't feel right about his speech because of the children in the room. I told him, "then don't do it". He continued on, and I figured out he was last years Blue Hair Guy. I then asked if he makes money off his videos, he said yes. So I just looked at him with a "then get up there and make money stare". He continued on with being nervous due to the young children. I said, "it's good that you feel this way, then you shouldn't do it". At that point, I got up and picked up a printed agenda. I showed him where we were, and that I bet after the Ocean Acidification speech, all the kids will leave. LOL, I was right.

During the dude's boring speech, I had strong thoughts about approaching the podium and blocking him. Now, THAT, would have been something to talk about.

But yes, who was stach guy? Did a non-staff member just go sit up there? Stach guy did a fist raise and then left right after the speech.

Back on topic. The whole email saga is stupid. It appears that Garvin is an advisor for Tony, so what, who cares. The only thing Tony did wrong was a lack of discretion. I'm pretty sure that all council correspondence is placed in a binder at the front desk, no need to do a records search.

Sigh, the agendas have been fluffy. Current mayor is less aggressive than previous mayor. Kranz is coasting on all the stuff that was rammed in over the previous 4 years. I think the city needs time to absorb all the forced change.

Kranz's meetings have been boring compared to Blakespear's. You want action nowadays, you have to go to the Planning Commission meetings. In Govt, boring is probably a good thing to strive for. That said, is the Mayor being intentionally boring or just lazy?

Ranting and yelling are not the best way to get results. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer, something like that.

We need to hammer Mayor on better things than lack of discretion on forwarding an email.

    5. Here’s why conspiracy theories are stupid: the maximum number of people who can keep a secret is ~three. And if it’s a juicy secret, two of them need to be dead.

Take as an example, chemtrails. This is the dumb conspiracy theory that the lines in the sky behind airplanes are not condensed water vapor from burning jet fuel in the sub zero temps at 35K feet. Instead, they are chemicals pumped overboard to blanket us in chemicals that control behavior or poison us for unknown reasons.

Let’s count who would have to keep this secret: all of the pilots, all of the engineers at Boeing and Airbus to design the tankange and pump systems, all of the maintenance and inspection teams at every airport, all of the airline executives who should have to agree to carry added weight that would reduce passenger capacity and range. Those executives would demand compensation, so all of the airline lawyers would have to be involved to draft contracts for providing the service. There would be finance people involved in making payments and resolving any disputes. Then there’s the companies who would develop, test, and manufacture the subsystems and sensors that store and dispense the chemicals, and they would have paperwork training people on maintenance schedules for keeping the equipment in good working order. The NTSB would have to be in on it, because they investigate crashes and have to know what parts they are looking at. Then there’s the chemical companies that produce the chemicals. And the truck drivers that deliver the chemicals to the airport. And the workers who manage inventory and load chemicals into the planes. Also, the workers at scrap yards who take apart planes to scavenge useful parts at the end of service life—they’d have to be in on it.

And all of this has to be global. Every country where the major carriers fly—so all government air service regulators around the world would have to be in on it.

All of those people need to keep a juicy secret. With all of the paperwork kept secret: engineering diagrams, financial agreements, chemical inventory and order reports, maintenance logs, training materials, handling and cleanup protocols.

Literally millions of people in the conspiracy.

You can do this exercise with any grand conspiracy theory. Just ask yourself how many people would have to keep this juicy secret. If it’s more than three, it isn’t happening.

      Delete

  48. And from Garvin it goes to Jerome and Thunder and the subject of the emails. Democrats take note who your mayor is in league with.

And for God’s sake Scott do not throw your hat in for any race District or otherwise.

  49. I’ve never been a fan of Scott or his screaming wife Vickie Campbell. Seems they both downplay a lot of the issues we see with Kranz lately. Like residents concerns aren’t important.

Hoping Bruce runs for Mayor, definitely won’t vote for Scott!

  50. Wow Scott Campbell takes Garvin’s side. Interesting! You’re a NO vote for me Campbell!

  51. Scott’s wife, Vickie, is a nut bird! She’s always making homophobic rants on EV and EU. Tired of their BS!

If you can’t defend residents and decide to take Tony’s side on this email issue, then please don’t run for office, because it’s blatantly obvious that you don’t care.
