Gaspar vs SANDAG

Supervisor Kristin Gaspar:
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse with SANDAG - San Diego Association of Governments, it does. The Executive Director's goal is to make driving, and as you're about to hear, PARKING, so expensive, that you will have no choice but to take public transportation. In my interview with Mark Larson Media on AM 760 KFMB, I shared how much Hasan Ikhrata (Exec. Dir.) believes San Diegans should have to pay to park around the county. You're not going to believe it!

Link to the interview: https://bit.ly/30G1mnD. I would love to hear your thoughts at StopTransNetRaid.com.

Also, please mark your calendar to attend our next SANDAG meeting on Sept 6th at 9 am. Our Board will discuss what projects we fund for the next 7 years. It is crucial that we hear from San Diegans who want SANDAG to follow through with its 2004 promise to repair and improve our highways! Meeting location is 401 B Street, San Diego, #800. Thank you for your support!

  1. Ummm what public transportation are we supposed to take, exactly?

  2. How does Hasan get to and from work?

    Does he park?

If so, what does he pay?

    1. Ask the same of blakespear. Hypocrites. Watch for her newsletter spin.

    2. Looks like Hasan lived in Rancho Cucamonga while at SCAG. And may still live there. Think he took the Metrolink to LA every day?

An inquiring FOIA requester might ask SANDAG whether Hasan's contract has a car allowance -- I bet it does!

  3. The council members, the five who are so concerned about greenhouse gas emissions, they're all vegans, is that right?

  4. We need to replace all five of our council members! They don't represent us...

  5. Pathetic. EU geniuses who just couldn't get enough of showering in their own brilliance got us here. Spare me the revisionist take on the last two elections. Blakespear, with her blossoming political manifesto, was a predictable failure to any astute observer. Hubbard? Kranz? Mosca? Seriously? And those dimwits begot Hinze, and here we are. Lots of denial and deflecting was posted here. Now that the damage has been done, perhaps the superior intellects at EU will pull their collective heads out and help install a council that isn't a deplorable laughing stock.

    1. 10:58 poster: You don't really think EU elected the current council, do you?

If so, how long ago did you lose your mind?

    2. 10:31, Mira Costa has classes to help improve reading comprehension. Enroll in one.

The 10:58 post didn't say or even imply that "EU" elected anybody. It said "EU geniuses." You know, those know-it-all crusty old farts who delude themselves into thinking they're the brightest guy in any room they walk in to by virtue of the cynical annoyance they display proudly to the intellectual inferiors around them. Kind of like you. Scratch that.... exactly like you.

  6. Transit sucks. Just look at Europe with all the problems with the union strikes.

Electric Autonomous vehicles are the future which is driven by the demand. Of course, SANDAG has it wrong again.

    1. Europe has union strikes.

The US has an opioid epidemic killing thousands, school shootings, crumbling infrastructure, terrible public transportation, shit schools, and proto-fascist leadership.

    2. and so does Europe. Why don't you move somewhere besides the US, hater?

    3. Because Trump says if you have problems, you should stay in your country and work to fix them.

    4. 6:27 - business takes me to northern and central Europe, 3-4 times per year ------------ for the past 30 years ----- and my opinion is that the transit systems are swift and reliable. Strikes are typically announced in advance so as to minimize the customer inconvenience. In these times, it is hard not to be a bubba - but please try.

  8. Gaspar defending the methods and decisions that brought us our current traffic problems.

Vote Gaspar if you want the current trend toward gridlock to continue.

    2. Shouldn't the name "Blakespear" be substituted for "Gaspar?" After all she is vice chair at SANDAG in line for chair. Gaspar is on the Board of Supervisors. In her Sunday newsletter Blakespear is touting the purchase of another Coaster engine and passenger cars. She seems to think this will lessen congestion.

    3. Her support of congestion pricing is what she thinks will lessen congestion. Make it too painful to drive and you'll spontaneously start using nonexistent public transport and riding your bike.

She's blinder than just about anyone we've had on council, is dangerous, and needs to go. Her ambitious brown nosing with her new SANDAG friends is the final nail.

    4. Good suggestion, 10:52. I'll absolutely vote Gaspar. She represents the will of her constituents, and not a one of them wants the "methods and decisions that brought us our current traffic problems," despite your petty and intellectually feeble psychological projection.

We all want practical solutions and measurable results to our transportation challenges, even when it means reasonable infrastructure for alternative modes. We don't want our representatives telling us we need to be on bikes in 2020 or suffer economic sanctions imposed by our elected officials. If your infantile predilections yearn for an authority figure to tell you what to do, get off your ass and do a grocery run for me. I'll send you a grocery list. I'll even let you do it on a bike.
