I don’t remember her using this as a campaign slogan in Encinitas

Blakespear is featured speaker at “Increasing Suburban Density to Fight Climate Change.”

I’m not sure the idling cars in gridlock on Encinitas Boulevard and elsewhere around town are good for climate change.

  1. The should have introduced her as the DEVELOPER'S WHORE.

    Call it like it is.

  2. Blakespear wantS to increase paving over Encinitas and open the flood gates for massive development, yet no mention that our desert is already over developed and does not have a sustainable water supply.

I support politicians that support responsible sustainable development where there is adequate sustainable water supplies.

Not more stack in pack and Enginitas AND MORE CROWDED EVERYTHING. NOT BLAKESPEAR.

    1. Did somebody say “paving?”

Fact: Julie Thumder’s family business is a BIA member concrete company famous for pouring concrete for the major stack and pack housing projects in Encinitas.

Don’t think she’ll use her power as mayor to steer more of that sweet sweet concrete cash to her family business?

Well, consider that she has already come out in favor of covering our local natural sea bluffs in sweet sweet concrete. It’s a fact.

    2. You mean the way the mayor steers business to her bff attorney friend? Talk about sweet. Your facts are failing you, bub.

      ABC.

    3. I provided a specific example.

      You can't do that.

    4. 12:11 your statement doesn't make sense. Blakespear approves the project and Julie's husband may provide a service. MUCH DIFFERENT! Next you're going to blame the plumber for the density housing problems. DON'T BE STUPID!

    5. 1:59 did not provide specifics, just threw you know what at the wall to see what would stick per his usual M.O.

      mayor's bff.

  5. This council: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwashing:

a form of marketing spin in which green PR (green values) and green marketing are deceptively used to persuade the public that an organization's products, aims and policies are environmentally friendly and therefore "better."

    Sound familiar?

Kick the three posers to the curb in November.

The entire strip of the rail trail in front of multi-million dollar properties appear a Thunder for Mayor sign in just about every single front yard.

Virtue signaling and being woke = going broke.

Catherine - have fun organizing marxist protests at your closed schools in late November - I understand it pays well.

Proof's in follow the money right to the incumbent stack n'pack front doors.

  9. Lots of screaming karens over at the woke Enc Votes arena. One thread in particular a 75 year old woman is preening about the tot lot being completely chain linked fenced off. This same 75 year old screaming karen claims that fencing off the tot lot will allow schools to be opened up at some ethereal future date.

These types of dangerous human beings (oops screaming karens)should be incarcerated for the rest of their lives. Preferably in solitary confinement with masks and face shields.

Society wold be infinitely better off for the love of god.

“Interesting. I’d like to hear from the defendant.”

“Your Honor, she literally ran on steam cleaning sidewalks.”

Judge: “Yeah. You weren’t going to be elected. Case dismissed.”

    4. This story has nothing to do with steam cleaning but you know that, 10:33.

For those who may not: ethics professor Lisa Shaffer told Dem party bigwigs that Graboi (a Dem) was a member of the Tea Party. That led to Graboi's blackballing and exclusion from any Dem endorsement consideration when she ran against Blakespear in 2016. Shaffer is Blakespear's hero.

    5. The point is, no endorsement was ever going to help.

Graboi literally stood up at a Coty Council meeting and suggested steam cleaning sidewalks to protect children from dog poo.

  15. The mayor and council can change the zoning ordinances at any time to financially benefit developers which is why enormous developments have been submitted. It isn’t state law that created the new city ordinances. On the council agenda next week is consent item 8E a letter to a state committee from the mayor and council supporting a bill to give the developers more money from these developments. This is part of the letter:
“The City of Encinitas is pleased to support Assembly Bill 3153 (Robert Rivas) that would allow housing developers to replace some of their required car parking spaces with bike parking or car-sharing spaces.”
    Another part of the letter:
“Additionally, parking requirements drive up the cost of building housing and effectively subsidize motor vehicle use at a time when public resources and regulations should support alternatives to the automobile. AB 3153 simultaneously helps California achieve its affordable housing goals and its sustainable transportation goals and deserves your support. We support AB 3153 and urge the Committee to pass the bill.” This state bill is in committee. It hasn’t become law yet, but Blakespear, Hinze, Kranz, Mosca, and Hubbard want it to become law. This mayor and council don’t represent the residents of Encinitas.
The proposed Goodson development which is now up to 283 apartments at the intersection of Rancho Santa Fe and Encinitas Blvd. would benefit financially from building less parking spaces.
Vote the incumbents out. It is time to clean house. Please remember that the mayor and council sued the residents of Encinitas to stop them from voting on zoning changes under Prop. A.

  16. You know what upsets me.?

Blakespear preaches like she care about Encinitas character.

Yet she wants to turn Encinitas into a super dense party zone.

I say hell no... lets to the program like Del Mar and have nice beaches and not fucked up City. Time to vote out all incubants.

  17. here's what it comes down to:

Informed voters who pay attention, read reports for themselves such as 5:33 posted to make up their own minds, will vote for the challengers.

Uninformed voters who get their "facts" from the incumbents and repeat them to one another will vote for the incumbents.

Uninformed voters will still claim the mayor did not sue the city even though she's on video saying she did, twice.

He said: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose any voters, okay? It’s, like, incredible.”

Blakespear could do the same on the 101 and you would still vote for her.

    6. 8:58,

      You are confused.

Kool-Aid is not a reference to Trump.

It’s a reference to Jim Jones’ People’s Temple cult, and the horrific mass suicide and murder of its members in 1978.

What else are you confused about?

  18. 5:10pm- I guess we will see. I think much larger percentage of voters will vote for anyone other than Blakespear even the IE dog and is weird owner that ran last time and got 15% of the vote.

Blakespears supporters are developers, lawyers, and bar owners. Many residents do not support the full on assault on the character of this beach town.

Voters strongly passed Prop A, and rejected Measure U and Measure T, yet Blakespear turns a blind eye and deaf ear to the same residents.

She also pissed off all kinds of her former supporters who are in favor of safer more bike friendly streets, the streetscape supports for lack of meaningful action, the need for more quiet-zones (other than the one by her home), reducing lawsuit costs, and quality of life existing residents who just do not want to turn Encinitas into Hermosa Beach.

With her cozy alignment with Marco G, it will definitely make for some interesting viewing on how this goes down.

  19. Hey 9:57, Mikey, the Kool-Aid metaphor is growing old and doesn't work in this case. We have video of Blakespear lying. She says one thing to one audience and another thing to another audience and thinks that nobody notices. Part of being an actual thought leader is that it is based on authoritative trust and honesty--not contradictions and lies to fit the situation. Why she would even want to live in this town after all that she has done to damage it is beyond me.
